Later that night, Song Yue lay sprawled across her bed, phone in hand, hair still damp from her shower.
"Uncle is mine!" she typed excitedly to Lan Xia. "Hurry up and congratulate me!"
"So you finally got him?" Lan Xia replied instantly. "Did you follow my plan?"
Song Yue frowned. That was a bit too direct.
"He's mine," she typed back carefully, "but nothing like that yet."
"What are you two even doing then?" Lan Xia shot back, clearly baffled.
"He's mine," Song Yue insisted, adding a smug emoji. "And soon, I'll be his too."
"Well, good luck. By the way, did you catch the person who stole your documents?" Lan Xia added after a pause. "I remember someone… maybe it was her…"
Song Yue's fingers froze above the screen.
Song Yue jolted upright on the bed, her heart thumping. She stopped typing, tossed her phone aside, then immediately snatched it back up and dialed Lan Xia.
"Who is it?" she asked the moment the call connected, her voice tight with urgency.
