He walked over. "Slowpoke, are you fishing?"
"Ya dong~" Slowpoke nodded slightly.
"Do you yearn to become stronger and smarter?" Slowpoke nodded again.
Kaito decided to evolve it into Slowking, the Sage of the Sea. He first tried the new method (King's Rock + Communication Device) at the Research Institute, but Slowpoke failed to evolve, confirming his conjecture that this world was in an earlier version where evolution methods were more stringent.
He brought Slowpoke back to the beach. Slowpoke lay by the sea, wearing the King's Rock on its head, waiting.
Kaito chose a simpler, more direct approach, reaching his hand directly into the sea, and a familiar light blue glow rippled out—Suicune's Blessing! Several Shellder swam up, including an Elite-tier Shellder.
"Slowpoke, are you ready?"
"Yadon!"
The Elite-tier Shellder bit Slowpoke's head, spreading venom. Pain. Even the dull-sensed Slowpoke felt pain.
Immediately, a brilliant light of evolution shone.

Slowking is a sage. Its intelligence rose to a level comparable to the world's top scientists.
"Yadon." Slowking smiled at Kaito. Its eyes were now full of vitality. A research assistant was found.
The King's Thesis and Togepi's Final Evolution
Kaito returned to his desk, working on a new paper: "Slowpoke's Spring – Slowking, the Sage of the Sea!" Slowking truly lived up to its title, possessing a high IQ, capable of easily calculating various data, and serving as a meticulous housekeeper.
In the room, the Pokémon gathered to play games. Slowking stood aside, hands clasped behind its back, looking like an old man watching his companions play chess.
Kaito finished the paper and clicked Upload! Casually closing Pokémon Home, he then opened the Pokémon Center to check information about the Cloud Sea Secret Realm, planning to depart tomorrow.
Suddenly, Kaito subconsciously looked out the window. A Pelipper was flying by, a familiar sight. His Shiny Stone had arrived.
Kaito opened the window. "You're still delivering this late today?" The Pelipper sighed, explaining it was running more errands for the money. Kaito rewarded the Pelipper with candy and an Exp. Candy.
He unwrapped the package, and a high-quality Shiny Stone came into view.
"Togetic, come and evolve now." Togetic flew in front of Kaito.
