"Ga!" It knew—the carving was definitely too small to embody its magnificent temperament. Bibarel sighed and carved a larger piece.
Turtwig basked in the sun, performing Synthesis. Lapras swam quietly in the center of the lake. Groups of adorable Cottonee flew by, casting brief shadows.
In the fields, Bunnelby worked diligently, and several Bibarel used the Dig move to cultivate the land. A Castform in its Sunny Form flew in the air, occasionally showering light rain for cooling.
In the forest, several Primeape were sparring.
The Affection Thesis
In the refreshingly cool room, Kaito leaned back. The computer screen displayed lines of text.
"Humans and Pokémon can establish friendly relationships... I call it [Affection]... Affection has a wide range of influences, even affecting Pokémon evolution."
Kaito typed the last character, chuckling. He attached a photo of Umbreon and titled the paper: [The Theory of Pokémon Affection].

After a short rest, Kaito took out an item resembling old parchment: the Designated Legendary Pokémon Clue he had obtained earlier. He clutched the parchment tightly, silently reciting a name in his heart.
Xerneas's Clue
The next moment, the parchment glowed. The light disappeared, and lines of text appeared on the paper out of thin air, while a majestic figure proudly leaped onto the paper: a blue-and-black Pokémon resembling a deer, with horns that formed an X shape.
This uniquely confirmed its title—Xerneas! The Legendary Pokémon that governs life!
Kaito carefully read the text: Xerneas was located within the Cloud Sea Secret Realm!
The Cloud Sea Secret Realm was in the Cloud Sea Mountain Range next to Fu City. This type of Secret Realm, with its rich mountains and forests, indeed fit Xerneas's identity as the God of Life.
Kaito noted that he hadn't entered a Secret Realm yet and wondered what tasks and rewards he might trigger inside.

Kaito turned and went downstairs. He saw Bibarel asking Psyduck about the wood carving. Psyduck insisted it needed to be bigger to reflect its grandeur, making Kaito question the duck's perception.
Perhaps this Psyduck also had its outstanding qualities? Kaito recalled the night Psyduck defeated Lairon with a single hit. Therefore, my Psyduck must have an unknown secret.
"Psyduck, do you have anything special about you?"
"Ga?" Psyduck hugged its head. Its special quality was that it was entirely yellow!
Kaito sighed. He had to investigate himself. "Psyduck, don't resist later; it won't harm you."
The next moment, Kaito was enveloped by intense Psychic Power, and a deep pink energy spread to Psyduck, engulfing it. Kaito tried to guide the dormant Psychic fluctuations within the duck.
A long time passed. A terrifying aura erupted from within Psyduck, and boundless energy spread out, forming a long pink river floating above the lake.
Kaito withdrew his Psychic, his eyes filled with unconcealable astonishment. He had still underestimated Psyduck's potential. Psyduck's Psychic had fully awakened, transforming its stats without using any items.
