Chapter 41 - The Determination to Win

This was the most dangerous situation, and Neymar immediately spread his arms and shouted, "Hey!"

The referee saw it too, and immediately stopped the game. Both teams' players gathered around.

Neymar quickly turned Lin Hao over and found that Lin Hao's eyes were open and he was fine.

"Damn, you scared me to death! What are you doing? Why aren't you saying anything or moving?"

As soon as Lin Hao opened his mouth to speak, blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. "My mouth hurts!"

Everyone fell silent.

Lin Hao pointed to his mouth, "Aren't you going to give me any cards?"

"Who said it wasn't given? It was supposed to be called anyway!" the referee said, taking out a yellow card and noting down Alphonso Davies' number.

Alfonso frowned. "I pushed him from outside the penalty area, it wasn't too hard. You can't give him a card just because he's a good actor, can you?"

"I judged that this was a yellow card action not after he fell to the ground, but while he was falling. That is, it was based on your action. The other person was running in front of you, so why did you trip him from behind and push him with your hands? Giving him a yellow card is absolutely reasonable!"

The referee's explanation was very convincing, leaving Alfonso speechless.

Lin Hao went to the sidelines for some quick treatment; the blood had gotten onto his jersey, so he needed to change into a new one.

There can be no blood on the field, which is also for the health of the players and to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

After finishing his business, Lin Hao stood on the sidelines, waiting for the referee's instructions. The referee signaled that he could enter the field, and Lin Hao quickly went onto the field to continue the game.

The game has moved from the initial probing to the next stage, which involves suppressing the attack.

Thanks to Neymar's tenacity, even with Lin Hao's wing play restricted, PSG still managed to create threats. Mbappe, the rising star who shone at the World Cup, didn't actually play very well in this Champions League, but in the final, with Neymar being contained, he still managed to win.

Mbappe is also performing well and working hard.

But in the end, they couldn't withstand Bayern's undefeated team. Half an hour later, with only fifteen minutes left in the first half's regular time, Bayern began to fully demonstrate their strength.

Actually, the most important thing about a team is not what advantages it has. Is Bayern Munich so great because they have Lewandowski?

Barcelona also had Messi, but they still lost 8-2.

The most impressive thing about a team is that you can't find any weaknesses.

Bayern Munich is a perfect example; their winning streak and momentum have boosted the confidence of their players.

That makes you realize Liverpool is really impressive; they have such obvious weaknesses, yet they're still so strong.

On the right flank, Gnabry faced Bertner, who couldn't defend him at all. Gnabry broke through to the byline, faked a pass, cut back, and passed to Kimmich. Kimmich, without stopping the ball, played a one-two with Gnabry, who then broke along the byline into the penalty area.

As the defenders gathered, he took a cross.

Lewandowski arrived just in time and took a shot, but the ball grazed the other post – what a pity!

This was the closest they came to scoring since the start of the match.

Lewandowski also held his head in frustration.

However, immediately after, PSG launched an attack. Marquinhos' pass was too short and was intercepted by Müller. Müller, of course, wouldn't waste a moment and immediately played a through ball to Coman. Coman quickly caught up with the ball, observed and prepared thoroughly, and then crossed the ball.

This time, the target wasn't Lewandowski, but Gnabry who was following up at the far post.

Gnabry headed the ball towards the goal, but Navas made a diving save, pushing the ball out of play.

Navas, even in his old age, remains incredibly skilled and continues to save the team.

The PSG players visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

Bayern took a corner kick, and it was an excellent one. The ball was headed on at the far post inside the penalty area, and Müller attempted a shot in the middle, but Thiago Silva blocked it. Coman then shot from outside the box, but Lin Hao came back in time to block it again.

Bayern still had possession. The throw-in was played, Alphonso Davies found Müller, who made a brilliant diagonal pass to Lewandowski in the penalty area. Lewandowski was surrounded by players and couldn't get a shot off, so he had to shield the ball with his back to goal.

The ball is returned to Müller, who then passes it across to Thiago, who dribbles forward before Müller moves to the right behind him.

Müller received the ball and passed it to Kimmich, who first combined with Gnabry before crossing it.

Near the penalty spot inside the penalty area, Müller leaped high, powered by his core, and headed the ball towards the goal.

Navas managed to catch the ball, quickly got up, and held onto it. However, he didn't get up immediately; he wanted to slow down the pace, as Bayern's attacking firepower had been too intense during this period.

But it was no use. After the kickoff, PSG had fewer attacking opportunities. Just like before, Lin Hao couldn't break through Alphonso Davies' defense. Even when he did manage to break through, there were other players. Mbappe could break through Kimmich, but it was useless.

With this PSG lineup, long balls are useless, and ground crosses are practically impossible. Neymar and Lin Hao will have a hard time getting into the box.

In contrast, Bayern Munich's attack came from multiple angles: breakthroughs on both flanks, Lewandowski's central pressure, players attacking from both ends, and long-range shots from Müller and other midfielders.

Although he hasn't scored yet, it's only a matter of time.

With little time left in the first half, PSG deployed almost their entire squad to defend in their own half, hoping to hold on and enter the second half with a draw.

Finally, in the 47th minute of the match, the referee blew the whistle to end the first half.

The players from both sides returned to the locker room.

But the atmosphere was quite different; in Greater Paris, everyone was dejected.

Including Lin Hao, who was mainly upset about how difficult it was for him to beat Alphonso Davies.

Neymar sighed and stood up. "The score is 0-0, a draw. There's no need to be so pessimistic!"

"Yes, we've been dominated by Bayern all along. It's possible that we're just lucky that we haven't conceded a goal. We're not as strong as Bayern, and we don't have the same fighting spirit. But who says that just because we're not as strong, we can't win?"

"This is not uncommon in the world of football; there are examples everywhere. We shouldn't have any thoughts that we are not as good as the other side. We should just think that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us. Reaching the final is the closest we've ever come to winning the Champions League!"

"PSG has never won the Champions League before, and the fans are waiting for us. Since the final whistle hasn't blown, we shouldn't have any other ideas. All we have to do is win! Bring home our first Champions League trophy for this team!"

"Come on, everyone, let's do our best!"

Neymar stood up, and Lin Hao and the other players also stood up and gathered together. At this moment, tactics were no longer important. What mattered most was the momentum, cohesion, and determination to win.

The players from both sides re-entered the field, and the final 45 minutes of the Champions League final kicked off!
