"I see... so I succeeded, huh?"
"Yeah, kid. You did," Faelynn grinned down at him, her golden eyes shimmering with genuine
relief.
"I honestly thought you would explode with the whole pressure still. Good job holding it together."
Darian blinked, his vision clearing, and his vision is still half blocked by her upper body."And now," Faelynn flicked his head with embarrassment, "stop staring at my breasts."
"I am not staring," Darian averred, his eyes to distance. "It's just that your breasts are blocking my view of the sky, so I am not the one to blame."
"Stupid kid."
Faelynn laughed at his joke. She didn't push him away and let him rest a little more until his body got back in form after the whole ordeal.
Days turned weeks. Darian's Bond with Fayleen grew stronger. His body became strong. The jungle was once a difficult place for him to live in, but it slowly became lively and sort of became his training ground. Fayleen's training got tougher with each passing day. She didn't just teach him archery; she was shaping his body to handle everything that would come his way, rebuilding him from the ground up.
"You walk like a damsel in distress." She threw a stick at him. " Walk slowly, the branch will break, princess."
She taught him her assassin techniques, blending with the darkness, vital points everything she knew about.
Darian resisted her harsh training by saying, "I am Archer, I don't want to learn these stupid techniques of yours anymore, " yet she relentlessly ignored his requests."And what happens when they close the distance?" Faelynn countered, sweeping his legs out from under him, "You die. Learn the knife, kid."
Due to her nagging, Darian started learning dagger arts from her, along with archery. He got better at it every day. One afternoon, after training for weeks, after Darian awakened his mana heart, Fayleen called a halt to training.
"Alright, kid. Enough sweating for today."
"Finally, break time," he rested on the ground because of exhaustion.
"hehehe.....who said it's time for resting today, you will awaken the mana gaze completely."
Darian straightened up. "Okay. I am ready. What will it be this time? Hit me with another mana blast, I am ready."
"I like your energy, kid, "she said on a rock leg crossed, "but it's different from the force manna heart awakening, and looking at you from that time, your mana heart is more stable, now making perfect time to open mana gaze ."
"So what should I do then?" he waited for her answer.
"Sit down, kid, and close your eyes."
He did what she told. " ok, now what?"
"Focus on your mana surrounding your heart, now, pump the mana slowly, draw it, and pull it out along your blood vessel to your brain".
Darian focused and controlled his mana and pulled it like a small thread along his blood vessel. It was very tedious, and yet he finally linked his brain and heart with mana.
Good kid, now circulate and connect to your eyes Faelynn instructed softly. "But be careful. The eyes are delicate. If you rush, you'll go blind. If you hesitate, the mana will dissipate. You need to open the channels as gently as possible."
Darian gritted his teeth, but he too knew that there wasn't any way to go back. He slowly pushed the mana from his brain to his eyes slowly and the intensity was so much for him to handle.
Focus, Min Jun, focus, it's a do-or-die situation, he talked to himself as he pushed the mana into his eyes. It was like a thousand needles stabbing his optic cavities. It was hot,
open connect, circulate, open connect, circulate, open connect, circulate, open connect, circulate, open connect, circulate, open connect, circulate, open connect, circulate, open connect, circulate,.............
He muttered these words again and again for hours; he sat there until the sun left the sky, and the moons shone, welcoming the night.
SNAP his eyes are now one with the mana, let me see the world now.
Darian opened his eyes, little by little, his vision perspective has changed; everything in this world is connected with lines. He gazed at the world with the new power he acquired. He looked at his own palm, and he could see the black coloured mana flowing.
CLAP CLAP CLAP....
Darian averted his eyes to the source of that sound.
It was the elf. Now you can see what she told you: her green mana on her heart shone brighter. Darian's worldview has changed. Now he is seeing the world for what it was, Min Jun taught himself. Maybe LadyLyra wasn't as much of a worse writer than I thought. She should have focused on something other than the cliché between Kayle and Elain.
"Congratulations," Faelynn said, her voice filled with pride. "You have learned the Mana Gaze."
