Chapter 143 - Bonus Chapter 141 Rimuru vs Surtur

Rimuru transformed into his Slime body and instantly enveloped Fire King Surtur.

Rimuru had already demonstrated his abilities multiple times on the Asgard battlefield.

Surtur naturally couldn't be unaware!

His heart instantly filled with vigilance — and of course, even more with rage!

He admitted that Rimuru's strength was indeed extraordinary and that he was qualified to be crowned as a regional king, but that was all — merely qualified.

When Surtur's name shook the Nine Realms, Asgard trembled before him.

Laufey, in his eyes, was nothing more than a slightly larger ant.

So what was Rimuru, this newly risen junior, even worth?

Under the instinct for survival, Surtur went all out.

Endless flames erupted from his body, intending to incinerate Rimuru.

But unfortunately, Rimuru possessed Heat Nullification, so no matter how high Surtur's flames burned, they had no effect.

The blue liquid continued to spread over Surtur, attempting to completely engulf him.

But at that moment, powerful Impact waves instantly burst outward from Surtur.

The Impact skill came so fast it caught Rimuru off guard; one-fifth of the cells covering Surtur were annihilated instantly.

Impressive!

As expected of the King of Muspelheim, who once contended with Odin; even without the Eternal Flame, his strength, experience, and willpower were incredibly formidable.

This was the first time Rimuru had struggled this much to devour prey since transmigrating into the Marvel Universe.

But how could Rimuru let a targeted prey escape?

With Regeneration activated, Rimuru's lost cells quickly recovered, and within moments he resumed expanding his territory.

However, Surtur's combat experience was truly immense. As soon as he discovered that Impact could destroy Rimuru's cells, he immediately switched to continuous Impact bombardment.

Soon, this battle of devouring and anti-devouring entered a fierce tug-of-war.

Cells were annihilated, regenerated, annihilated again, and regenerated again.

The process was precise down to the microsecond; in a single second, Rimuru and Surtur exchanged several rounds.

Time passed bit by bit, and Rimuru had never felt time move so slowly.

However, the outcome of a battle is determined by many factors.

Heaven, Earth, and Man — and Rimuru happened to have the advantage of Earth.

Laufey had obtained the Casket of Ancient Winters and frozen all of Asgard; this extreme cold environment was brutally hostile to the Fire Giants.

Surtur's greatest strength was fire and high temperature, but both of these trump cards were ineffective against Rimuru.

And to make things worse for Surtur, Rimuru was also proficient in Magic, having devoured Cytorrak's Ruby, allowing him to draw power from the Crimson Universe, the Vishanti Dimension, and the Dark Dimension.

Most importantly, he also had the Storm Dragon Veldora sealed inside him.

The one thing Rimuru never lacked was magicules; no matter how many times his cells were destroyed, they regenerated instantly.

Ten minutes later, Rimuru began gaining the upper hand.

Fifteen minutes later, Rimuru finally succeeded in completely devouring Surtur into his stomach.

But being swallowed into the stomach did not mean Rimuru had already won.

What Rimuru didn't expect was that Surtur was also extremely skilled in mental attacks.

The moment he was absorbed into Rimuru's stomach, he unleashed a powerful mental storm, attempting to dominate Rimuru's mind.

Rimuru was startled; if he hadn't been a Slime — with all his cells, nerves, brain cells, and muscles distributed rather than centralized — he might have been instantly overwhelmed.

Damn it. As expected of a former overlord — so many tricks up his sleeve.

Fortunately, Rimuru's stomach had the function of Isolation and Purification, so Surtur's mind-control attempt was directly filtered and weakened.

As time passed, Rimuru slowly began gaining the upper hand.

But Surtur's consciousness remained tremendously strong!

Even while steadily retreating, he still clung to his last line of defense.

Surtur: "Rimuru, what exactly are you? In terms of mental power, I am actually losing to you!"

Rimuru: "Surtur, stop resisting. Laufey has obtained the Casket of Ancient Winters, and the Fire Giants' retreat has been cut off. After being defeated by Odin, do you still intend to lose to your old rival Laufey?"

Surtur: "I will not lose! I will never lose to anyone! Rimuru, you cannot devour me. I am the demon prophesied by Odin to bring Ragnarok to Asgard!"

Rimuru: "It's just a prophecy. Why take it so seriously? Throughout Earth's history, countless people predicted the end of the world. The prophets turned to dust, but the sun still rises. The world doesn't depend on anyone's fate."

Surtur roared in fury, "Silence! How can mortals be compared to Odin? His prophecy is divine law — the future itself!"

Rimuru: "Surtur, is your only purpose to fulfill Odin's prophecy? Even if it comes true, what then? All it proves is Odin's greatness again. You will never surpass him like this."

Surtur: "Silence! Why should a freak who appeared from nowhere judge my worth!?"

Rimuru: "Laufey holds the Casket of Ancient Winters now. Asgard, Earth, Muspelheim — all will face catastrophe. Surtur, if you stop resisting, I promise to protect Muspelheim for a thousand years. How about it?"

Surtur was enraged. "How dare you! You wish to devour me and covet the birthplace of fire? Dream on!"

In his fury, Surtur unleashed another mental storm.

Surtur's overwhelming emotions continuously surged into Rimuru, attempting to infect and assimilate him in return.

If not for his incredibly powerful Mind Resistance, Rimuru might have capsized here.

Even so, Rimuru still "saw" many of Surtur's memories and emotions!

Surtur, King of the birthplace of fire, was born overwhelmingly powerful, and with the Eternal Flame, his true form reached 305 meters.

Wherever the Twilight Sword pointed, all bowed. Even proud Asgard trembled.

Even the former King of Asgard, Bor, was helpless before him.

Under the Twilight Sword, the gods of Asgard lost their glory — until Odin rose as the Lord of Asgard.

Asgard and Muspelheim inevitably went to war. Odin, wielding the Primordial Rune and Odinforce, was too powerful. His daughter Hela was unimaginably strong.

Muspelheim was defeated and lost everything.

Especially the Eternal Flame — without it, Surtur, once an overlord, became a shadow of his former self.

Ironically, Odin's prophecy of Ragnarok became the sole belief supporting Surtur's continued survival.

Surtur: "I have not yet brought Ragnarok to Asgard. I cannot lose. I absolutely cannot!"

Rimuru: "I transmigrated as a Slime, started from the bottom, and worked step by step to reach this point. I won't lose everything here. Besides, the Avengers are waiting for me. So I will never give up — no matter what!"

At the same time.

The battle between Thor, Tony, Captain, and Laufey reached its final, life-or-death climax.

On Earth, the temperature continued to plummet, and the entire world sank into panic.

Equatorial nations trembled even more violently!

The fate of Asgard, Earth, Jotunheim, Muspelheim, Vanaheim, and more than half of the Nine Realms rested entirely in Rimuru's hands.

The winner takes all.The loser loses everything!
