Chapter 43 - Chapter 41 Hawkeye, send money

Bonus beginning of the week chapter

....

When the gunshots rang out, they immediately caught the attention of Big Daddy and Hit-Girl.

Frank Amick's defenses were far beyond anything they had imagined; they had been lamenting their lack of opportunity to sneak in when—unexpectedly—someone else had already blasted open a path.

Evil deeds bring their own destruction; truly, Heaven wanted Frank dead today.

As seasoned veterans who had danced on the edge of life and death countless times, Big Daddy and Hit-Girl naturally wouldn't let such a rare opportunity go to waste.

The panicked gangsters, fleeing like stray dogs and trembling in fear, were swiftly cut down by Big Daddy and Hit-Girl as easily as slicing melons and vegetables.

After mowing through Frank's men with such ease, the father and daughter exchanged glances—both seeing absolute astonishment in each other's eyes.

People often say the one who understands you best is your enemy.

Hit-Girl and Big Daddy had ruined Frank's operations again and again. They had even fallen into his hands and nearly died in a blaze of kerosene.

No one knew Frank's strength and the strength of his men better than they did.

But now, witnessing the devastation scattered across the stronghold… who on earth possessed such terrifying combat ability?

This wasn't just defeating an enemy squad—it was crushing their entire will to fight.

Who could do something like this?

Damon and Mindy advanced cautiously toward the heart of the stronghold.

But as they walked past the moaning, arrow-struck gangsters, Mindy's little face flushed red, and she spat angrily.

She had admired this mysterious expert a moment ago, only to realize he was a pervert—a shameless degenerate who kept hitting men in "those" places!

Damon, however, grew more shocked with every step.

The benevolent see benevolence, the wise see wisdom: Mindy saw a pervert; Damon saw god-tier accuracy.

Firearms replaced cold weapons for a reason.

Which is superior—a gun or a bow? Does anyone even need to think?

Even a three-year-old could answer that.

Yet this mysterious archer had used nothing but a bow to utterly destroy a fully armed criminal squad equipped with automatic weapons.

Whoever this was… the man was a monster.

Upon seeing an empty rocket-launcher casing on the ground, Damon's jaw dropped so far that an apple could have rolled inside.

He recognized the model instantly.

It was the exact rocket launcher he had bought online. With free shipping.

And even that hadn't been able to deal with the attacker?

Damon suddenly felt an urge to grab Mindy and run far, far away.

This level of conflict was way beyond what two small vigilantes like them should meddle in.

But having already come this far… if he ran now…

How could he ever maintain his dignity in front of Mindy?

A father could shed blood and lose his life, but in front of his daughter, he must never lose face!

Thus, Damon and Mindy continued sneaking forward, step by step, toward the depths of Frank's lair.

"Frank Amick, you have failed this city."

Rimuru, longbow in hand, had successfully hypnotized nearly all of Frank's top bodyguards.

Frank himself was wobbling unsteadily, on the verge of falling under the hypnotic spell as well.

When Frank heard the dramatic declaration of his failure, he felt as if ten thousand grass-mud horses were stampeding across his heart.

Damn it! Trouble had literally kicked down his door today!

As a major drug lord, Frank was mentally prepared for assassins or enemies at any time.

But this person? He had never seen him before in his life.

Frank coughed heavily, spitting out foam and blood. "Who the hell… are you?"

Rimuru straightened his posture. "I walk without changing my name, sit without hiding my surname. I am the Universe's Number One Archer—Hawkeye!"

Frank blinked. "Hawkeye? Did we have a grudge before?"

Rimuru: "Never."

Frank: "…"

So he wasn't even an enemy.

Just a busybody lunatic?!

Heroes always had tempers. Bribing a superhero almost always failed.

In the movies, the villain offers money, the hero refuses nobly, and the villain dies.

Frank used to scoff at villains who tried such stupid tricks.

But now, with death staring him in the face, he was willing to try anything—even stupidity.

"Don't kill me! I have money! A lot of money! As long as you spare me, I'll give you everything I have!"

"Really?"

Rimuru's eyes lit up instantly. They glowed like two giant light bulbs.

Frank's soul nearly left his body.

Wasn't this supposed to be a righteous superhero?!Why did he look like he had found a treasure chest?!

"Frank, you have failed this city"—what a lofty line!

And yet… he ran into a scammer pretending to be a hero!

Frank almost fainted from anger.

At the same time, in the Triskelion…

Clint Barton suddenly shivered violently and sneezed several times in a row.

Someone was definitely slandering him.

Frank originally wanted to underreport his assets, but after seeing Rimuru's sharp and dangerously interested gaze, he immediately gave in.

A true man knows when to yield.

When Rimuru heard that Frank's total assets exceeded 1.5 billion dollars, with over 600 million in liquid cash, even he felt his heartbeat accelerate.

Murder and arson bring wealth; building bridges earns no money. This business really was terrifying.

Under Rimuru's "gentle, caring gaze," Frank didn't dare try anything suspicious and obediently completed the transfer.

When Aiya confirmed the transaction, Rimuru couldn't help laughing in a very undignified manner.

His hard work had finally paid off.Not only could he afford tea eggs now—he could even buy premium, top-grade pickled mustard!

Frank Amick was truly a good person.

"Big bro, thank you!"

Rimuru said gracefully before leaving.

Although Frank was a scumbag, since Rimuru had taken his money, he wouldn't do something immoral like killing him afterward.

Besides, Big Daddy and Hit-Girl were already on their way—30 seconds until arrival.

Rimuru was in no rush at all.

After Rimuru left, Frank collapsed onto the floor, utterly drained.

Once he regained a bit of strength, his eyes turned blood-red with fury.

Six hundred million dollars!Half his fortune!

The hatred of total financial ruin could never be forgiven.

Frank grabbed his phone and dialed a number.

The man on the other end was someone even more terrifying than him.

Kingpin.

Frank was quick—but Damon and Mindy were quicker.Just as Frank uttered the words "Hawkeye"…They enthusiastically sent him straight to the family-sized peanut bucket.
