**Chapter 10: Daughter-in-Law of Wolves**
Morning light filtered softly through the narrow window of their small wing.
Yuezhi woke to the quiet clink of porcelain. Jianyu moved around the tiny kitchenette with that familiar careful grace, pouring tea. The scent of mild herbs drifted toward her. He brought the cup over, steam curling gently, and set it on the bedside table before sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Here," he said softly. "It should help settle your stomach after yesterday."
She sat up, accepting the cup. The warmth seeped into her palms. For a long moment she simply looked at him — her husband — taking in the tired lines around his eyes, the quiet strength in his posture even after everything.
"I feel safe here," she said suddenly. The words came out awkward, almost halting, but honest. "With you. In this small place. It is… new for me."
Jianyu's expression softened. He reached out and brushed a strand of hair from her face. "Then I'll make sure it stays that way."
