A wisp of smoke slowly gathered forming a figure, he was still far from where I was seated.
He wore a black garment and a hooded cloak which covered his head and I couldn't see his face but his aura, his presence and how he slowly walked towards me made my body shiver not from cold but from fear of the unknown.
The smoke covered almost everywhere except the place I was seated.I could hear Leo's panicking voice, although he wasn't here but his words echoed in my ears. "Dr Blake what's happening"?, he asked and then I heard him again this time he was screaming "make it stop".
The figure stopped in front of me and then he removed his cloak which made me to have a clear view of his face.
His lips were pale, same with his face. He had a nice shaped jaw. Even if he was handsome, he didn't look friendly. He also looks like he is in his early thirties.
He suddenly drew his sword from its scabbard and pointed it towards me and then he spoke, his voice echoed.
"You claimed to be a king, but yet you watch your own people die without doing anything", he didn't even blink neither did he show any emotions, his face was just blank.
"Who are you"?, I asked trying to be confident. If I was a king in this world then I have to show no fear.
"I am dracula, the king of darkness", his red eyes stared directly at me without blinking as if he was in a staring competition with me.
This was my first time of seeing him, if I had seen him in my dreams before there was no way I couldn't have recognized him.
He moved his sword towards my neck and then his deep voice spoke again with an otherworldly power. "Anything the darkness touches is mine", immediately he said this a bright light shone on my face and then just like that I was back in my room.
I gasp as Leo violently shook my body, my eyes widened as I held his hands.
"Don't ever scare me like that", he told me and then he looked at Dr Blake.
"Marcus will send the money to you", I quickly chipped in. I didn't want Leonard to start any argument with him. I watch as he nodded, he cleared his stuff and made his way towards the door when Leo stopped him and I sighed heavily.
"Whatever happens here, stays here", he firmly said and then added. "If this gets out I will make sure I have your ass sued". he then proceed to open the door but Dr Blake looked towards my direction
"Let's schedule another session for next week, Jayden"and I slowly nodded as he left.
I then turned to Leo."That wasn't necessary", I said but he shrugged his shoulders
"I had to make myself clear", he said and then noticed I had space out, staring at the window looking at nothing in particular.
"What did you see?, he asked curiously
I took a deep breath contemplating whether to tell him or not.
"I saw vampires and a weird looking smoke guy. It was strange watching them bow to me like I was there king, I explained as I spilled everything I encountered to him
"Great!, now we have more characters to your dream. Hypnotizing you was a very bad idea . Vampires do not exist, they only happen to exist in the ancient era before they mysteriously vanish from the surface of the earth. If truly you are a vampire then why do you have blue eyes instead of red?", he asked.
He was right, he was so damn right. I shouldn't have gone through with the therapy session and now I was so messed up thinking about things that wasn't even possible.
The sound of the doorknob twisting open put an end to our discussion. My driver, who was also my right hand man came in.
"Boss you have a text message" he handed my phone to me
"From who"?, I curiously asked as I scroll through my phone
"Your dad", he replied and my face twisted in disgust in which he noticed and then corrected himself immediately
"From Mr Coleman", he cleared his throat and maintained his poker face.
"I never knew you were still in touch with him" Leo said
"I wasn't", I sharply replied as I finally entered his text message.Leo slowly poked his head trying to read what was on my screen.
Immediately I went through my phone I scoffed in disbelief."Was he trying to blackmail me or what", I said to myself.
"How did he get this naked picture of you and cherry", Leo asked, his voice laced with concern as I gave him my phone. I was too angry to utter a word, my chest tightened as I sat down on the couch.
Leo stared at my phone in disbelief as he read the message out loud:
"Do you have any idea how much I paid for his pictures not to hit the media. This could spoil the company's reputation. You should come by the office this week, I need to have a discussion with you.It's about time you become responsible and leave this reckless life aside", he then dropped the phone on the table exhaling loudly.
"I think your dad is about to set you up with someone", he said.
"Uhm", I rubbed my chin trying to suppress my anger. "It's really funny how he thinks he has a say in my life", I spat
"What are you going to do now?", he curiously asked."Do you want to invite him over or have you considered going to his place"
"If I set my eyes on him, I might end him with my bare hands, I said coldly with so much hate. I clenched my fist so hard that my knuckles turned white.
Relax, this might be a family reunion", Leo teased nudging me with his elbow and then he added reflecting on my last statement."it's not like you have done that to anyone", he asked letting out an awkward laugh while Marcus and I both exchange glances.
The whole room was silent for a while before he spoke, I guess trying to change the topic.
"We need to find cherry", this time he was more serious than ever. "I will track her down, we need answers. I know she won't be dumb enough to do this on her own".
"If my dad is behind this, then it's better I post this myself for the world to see this"
"No, that's a wrong move. If this gets out on the media it could do enough damage. This is a huge scandal", he took the phone one more time staring at the pictures.
" He is right boss", Marcus deep but cold voice echoed in the room.
"I don't think she has gone that far. Tracking her won't be that hard for me", Leo assured but I didn't reply. I remained calm showing no emotion or whatsoever. Which makes it difficult for anyone to read my thoughts.
"Why ain't you taking this serious. If this gets out it will destroy you, no one will want to partner with you. You won't have the connections to look for your mom", immediately he mentioned my mom something in me snapped and my eyes flickered in anger
"And who told you I don't want that"?, I asked."I want a family too, I need my mom more than ever. So I need to find her and you know that", I added as he watched me crash out.
"I am also your family, Jayden. I and my family considered you as one of us from day one so what are you talking about", he then paused. The look on his face I couldn't tell if he was sad or hurt and then he continued."I had a discussion with my dad in the past to add you to the family register but you declined the offer"
"That's because I don't want pity", I firmly said to him. He gave me a confused look
"Don't you get it Leo. who will want to accept me as their son. I am cursed, I don't even know who I am or where I belong", at this point I was frustrated and I didn't want to continue the conversation so I turned my back against Leo and walk towards the window staring at nothing in particular.
"You belong here Jayden", he sharply replied. I could hear his footsteps trailing behind me slowly.
"You don't understand. No one ever does. I am different from you or from any other humans. Humans don't have blue eyes but I do. Even if your family take me in out of pity I don't want things to go wrong", I said, but I didn't stop there."Sometimes I feel you are friends with me because you had no choice back then and even now. I was protecting you from bullies so you had to stick around like a lost puppy", I instantly regretted it immediately this words came out of my mouth.Leo's lips parted but no words came out. I realized what I said was wrong but it was too late. The only thing I saw was him at the door closing it with a loud bang.
I took a deep breath as Marcus brought my favorite wine. He was about to fill my cup when I snatched it from him, pouring the wine in myself.
I took a huge gulp which almost made me choke
"What do we do now, boss"?, his deep voice emerge from behind me, making me turn and acknowledge his presence
"Nothing", I replied shortly talking a sip out of my drink."Let's wait for Leo to do the tracking", but he gave me a dissatisfied look
"Why don't we ask Espesito for help considering the fact that you are second in command to the Mafia boss. He has more connections this won't be an issue to us", he said
"I won't mix business with my own issues. Besides Leo is capable, I slowly replied. I sat on the couch trying to relax and to see if I could sleep
"What makes you think so boss?", he asked
"Because he is a tech genius" I replied him almost in a whisper.
