Chapter 53 - I Am Not a Villain

Theresa, who had briefly spoken face-to-face with Evan before, actually didn't believe he would really harm Himeko Murata. However, if she continued to insist, the Hyperion might indeed be hijacked. After all, on that side, there was Evan, a guy whose combat power was suspected to rival an A-rank Valkyrie, and a Third Herrscher. On her side in Nagazora City, the only single combat unit was Himeko Murata, who was clearly slacking off. The Hyperion couldn't possibly unleash heavy firepower under these circumstances.

Yes, in Theresa's eyes, Himeko Murata was slacking off.

Although the communication image couldn't be as absolutely detailed as face-to-face communication, it was very clear. Theresa could see Evan's clothes and weapons, which had obviously gone through a series of battles, and could guess from some small details that he was not in peak condition. Meanwhile, the combat armor Himeko Murata was wearing—[Nexus: Scarlet Fusion]—although not the highest technological crystallization, was already a very powerful suit. Yet, under Evan's actions, she couldn't even put up a decent resistance?

It was clearly non-resistance!

Theresa couldn't see any clash of strength between Himeko and Evan at all. Himeko, who was undoubtedly in peak condition and fully prepared for battle, should at least be able to make Evan's hand gripping her shoulder and arm tremble a few times with her struggle, right? What was the meaning of this look of being obediently caught by the other party? Taking me for a fool?

Taking a deep breath and holding back the curse words she wanted to blurt out, Theresa tried hard to ask Evan in a normal tone.

"Why do you have to go to this extent? If it's for salvation, you've already done well enough."

"By planting a bomb as the price for a glossy facade? I don't think that's salvation. Principal Theresa, what is your choice?"

Himeko Murata also looked at Theresa with some nervousness, clearly not worried about her own life.

"I used to be the only one threatening others. This is the first time I've been threatened. It feels quite fresh."

Theresa curled her lips and continued.

"I agree not to impose additional shackles on the Third Herrscher. She only needs to come to St. Freya Academy with you and Kiana, and she won't receive any other differential treatment. Are you satisfied?"

"Thank you, Principal."

Almost the moment Theresa gave her response, Evan's hand, which had been restraining Himeko Murata, loosened. This caused Himeko to turn her head in surprise, only to see Evan with trembling arms and muscles spasming all over his body.

"You... reached your limit?"

"Yeah."

Evan didn't hide it because he really couldn't hold on anymore. He had fought on the side of the Nagazora City garrison for eight hours, and even before that, he had arrived at the edge of Nagazora City.

Evan had been running since midnight, followed by continuous high-intensity combat until the night of the new day. With internal and external injuries and tensed nerves, even if his physical fitness was far beyond ordinary people due to the Stigmata enhancement, and even if he had undergone exaggerated self-training, he finally couldn't hold on any longer.

"Showing such a powerless appearance from overconsumption just after reaching a deal... maybe Principal Theresa will change her mind and take extraordinary measures?"

Himeko Murata's words made Evan smile weakly.

"I believe you won't. If things really turn out like that, I will completely despair of this world."

After saying this, Evan fainted.

Himeko Murata hurriedly supported him to prevent this guy from falling to the ground and getting hurt.

This level of physical contact with a young member of the opposite sex caused a faint blush to appear on Himeko's face. However, she naturally didn't lose her composure because of this. Instead, she looked at the communication screen and asked in an inexplicable tone.

"Principal, do you want to take this opportunity to change your mind?"

"Tsk, even if I order the capture of the Third Herrscher now, you wouldn't obediently execute it, would you? You've always been the type not to strictly follow orders. Besides, don't underestimate me too much. I am not a villain who goes back on her word."

"Ahaha..."

Realizing that all her little thoughts had been noticed by Theresa, Himeko Murata revealed a slightly awkward expression, causing Theresa to sigh.

"Alright, it's not bad for the Third Honkai Eruption to end in this way. Bring Evan, Kiana, and that Third... hmm, is her name Raiden Mei? Bring them back."

Himeko Murata nodded and cut off the communication with Theresa. Just as she wanted to adjust her posture of supporting Evan slightly to half-hold him in a more labor-saving and convenient way, a cold voice suddenly came.

"He belongs to me, human. Take your dirty hands off him!"

The Third Herrscher was speaking words similar to jealousy in a cold tone.

Himeko Murata was stunned by this unexpected situation. Then, meeting Herrscher Mei's purple eyes, she revealed a playful smile.

"What if I don't let go? Do you want to attack me? That would affect Evan, you know. He's already weak enough to faint directly. If he receives any more injuries, maybe he will..."

Himeko Murata could clearly see that as her voice fell, the face of the Third Herrscher, which was full of ice, revealed visible panic.

So, a Herrscher is such an easy character to deal with?

Just as Himeko Murata, who had developed a bad taste in her heart, wanted to say or do something further, Raiden Mei closed her eyes. When she opened them again, her eyes had turned black.

Now, Raiden Mei's normal personality had taken over the body. The original imposing aura of superiority disappeared, turning into a gentle and anxious girl next door.

"Please save Evan."

Raiden Mei pleaded with Himeko Murata.

To be honest, Himeko Murata couldn't quite handle this personality switch with such disparate characters.

"Save? It hasn't reached such an exaggerated level yet..."

Evan, who was invincible on the battlefield before, was undoubtedly the victor.

Just as Himeko Murata wanted to comfort Raiden Mei, she felt that her hand supporting Evan was somewhat warm. Looking closely, her hand was stained bright red. It was blood, soaking through Evan's clothes.

Himeko Murata frowned instantly.
