Chapter 780 - Between Heaven, Empire, and the Lower Realms

The Veyris Imperial Hall had finally quieted after the council.

But quiet in this empire never meant empty.

It only meant everyone was listening to something larger.Kaelignis Veyris stood near the center of the hall, arms crossed, still thinking about the Dream Realm reports.

Beside her, Lyra's Kaelry watched the gathered queens and gods with calm curiosity.

Kaelignis spoke first:

So basically, if the Dream Realm keeps learning, it might try to approach us differently?

Seraphina nodded gently.

Yes. Not through force. Through understanding.

Aetheria added:

…Which is usually more dangerous.

Kaelry tilted her head.

…Why?

Eternya answered softly:

…Because things that understand you can predict you.

Kaelignis blinked.

…And things that predict us don't survive long here.

Ignisia smirked slightly.

…Correct.

Lilith watched both daughters quietly.

You two are thinking like commanders already.

Kaelry responded calmly:

We learned from him.

She glanced toward Kael.

Kael did not react.

But he had heard.

Umbryssia spoke from the side:

That is not entirely comforting.

Sanguinara Dracoryx added softly:

But it is accurate.Far beneath the layers of Heaven, Empire, and Dream

in the lowest structure known to existence

there was a place called Hell.

Not a single realm.

But a stacked infinity of collapsing underworld systems.

And within one of those layers

something moved.

A massive presence stood within burning skies and fractured stone continents.

Armies of the damned shifted around it, but none dared approach.

A name echoed through the lower realms:

Diablo

He was not attacking.

Not advancing.

Not challenging Heaven.

Not even observing Kael Veyris directly.

He was… preparingDiablo stood within a molten throne of collapsing infernal energy.

In his hand, fragments of broken souls and corrupted world cores floated slowly.

Upper realms are stabilizing too quickly, he muttered.

Something is anchoring them.

A demon general knelt before him.

My lord, shall we target the Veyris Empire?

Diablo paused.

For a long moment.

Then slowly shook his head.

No.

The demon blinked.

No?

Diablo looked upward toward impossibly distant layers of reality.

Not yet.

That place is not a battlefield.

It is a system.

He crushed the soul fragments in his hand.

They did not scream.

They simply ceased to exist.

And systems must be studied before they are challenged. Kaelignis stretched slightly.

So even Hell is doing research now?

Kaelry replied:

Everything eventually does.

Ignisia laughed softly.

That's what happens when Kael Veyris exists.

Lilith glanced at Kael.

You've become a reference point for behavior across realms.

Kael answered simply:

That is not intentional.

Umbryssia added quietly:

…It rarely is.The hall settled again into calm conversation.

The daughters spoke more freely now.

The wives continued observing the evolving structure of reality.

And Kael remained still listening more than speaking.

Kaelignis finally said:

…So basically, Heaven is watching us.

…Dream Realm is learning us.

…And Hell is studying us.

Kaelry nodded:

…Yes.

A pause.

Kaelignis added:

…That sounds like we're the main problem of existence.

Ignisia smirked.

…Correct.

Lilith corrected softly:

…Not a problem.

…A center. Far below

Diablo continued his preparations, not yet making a move.

Far above

Heaven remained watchful.

Within

the Dream Realm continued to learn slowly.

And in the center of it all

Kael Veyris remained unchanged.

Not reacting.

Not rushing.

Just existing as the point everything else oriented around.
