Month of Love, Day 6, Year 4987 of the Space Era. A small girl with a dream of conquering the stars and bringing peace to the universe was born. Her name is Rain. Born in Badima, South Irca (modern-day Budapest, Hungary), her mother, Jala, a lawyer, and her father, Luvin, a major Solar Scientist. During her childhood, she loved seeing her dad's impressive work.
"Do you love your job, dad?", asked Rain, touching the console, which is not functional, and under construction.
"Who would not? Especially because I have a beautiful daughter who wants to take my position and fly this thing. Right?", says her father, sitting and making some code on his laptop.
"Yeah! I want to ride the Thread!", Rain replied, jumping around like a raccoon, her long hair jumping around with her.
"Just you wait, a few more years, and the Thread will be all yours," replied Luvin, putting his laptop away, and giving Rain a head pat.
A year later, Rain has just celebrated her eleventh birthday.
Badima glowed brighter than ever. Neon skyscrapers, flying cars and the streets filled with people.
That was the day that a breakthrough in the Solar System happened.
The Thread Core had been proven real. The Thread can create wormholes by itself. People called it the second birth of science.
Badima, the capital of South Irca, and Earth's main city for the Solar Scientists, had become the city of the future. The town square shimmered with holograms of the old geniuses: Tesla, Da Vinci, Einstein. Beneath Tesla's statue glowed the words:
"Nikola Tesla (1038 BSE, Smiljan, Austria-Hungary – 951 BSE, New York, United States of America). The first to hear the Thread's whisper."
What exactly did Tesla "hear"? With his experiments on electricity, he figured out how to use electricity in science so that the future "space objects" could use wormholes by a specific type of energy (called anti-matter), which has been mastered before, but not until today, where the Scientists made it renewable.
"Are you ready to witness this?", asks Luvin, holding Rain by her hand.
"Yes, dad!!", says Rain excitedly.
"The Thread will finally go into a test drive. This is a large moment for you and the universe. With this, you will bring peace to the universe. Understood?", says Luvin, reading from a small piece of paper.
"Yes, sir, yes!", shouts Rain, stepping like a soldier and saluting.
The test was successful. The launch was set fourteen years from now.
"Seven thousand years. And you will be the one to give the universe a breakthrough. You will be the first peacemaker of the universe, independent of other planets and factions. Get a team of people to help you on your journey, even if it may be temporary, or permanent. Gain each other's trust, and love, protect, care for each other, until the very end of the Universe itself.", says Luvin strictly, making sure Rain heard what she meant.
"...Understood, father.", says Rain, now sitting down to watch the Thread fly to Mars and back.
Shortly after everything, in the year 4998 of the Space Era, in the laboratory, Luvin undergoes a critical deadly mistake during a test and accidentally gets exposed to some radiation while working on the Thread Core.
The lab smelled of burning metal and blood.
An hour later, Rain stood frozen and worried in the waiting room, her mother talking saddened to the doctors.
"He is gone. He can't recover. The damage is too great." Jala whispered, her voice cracking, about to burst into tears.
Rain burst into tears, knowing her father – the person she looked up to since birth, is gone forever.
Rain, saddened by hearing such news, she, with the help of her mother, decides to start helping on the Thread a few days later, so that she can live on her father's legacy.
The family got an urn, and Jala told Rain to bring it to the Thread. She also gave her a letter.
"I vow to keep on holding my father's legacy, and fly the Thread forever, until the Universe dies". She was just twelve and already focused on flying the Thread as early as possible.
The year 5000 reached, and the people were celebrating the new millennia of the Space Era. Luvin's statue now stands in the center of Badima's main square – with the Thread "floating" above him. People are having a minute of silence and are finally awaiting the long-researched Thread. Seven thousand years of researching long-distance consistent travel, and a new universal law between planets being set, for there to only be one Thread. Some planets abstained, such as Kephar, Earth, Zeus, and more.
Rain is now thirteen, and the Thread is set off to sail in twelve years. The anthem is playing across the South Irca country, people paying their respect for Luvin. People in the square noticed Rain and started to speak about her. "That's Luvin's daughter"; "She is the Thread captain", and so much more. Rain went to the public speaker and announced:
"The sixth millennium of the Space Era is now beginning. I am Rain Usen, daughter of the late Luvin Usen, the lead researcher for the Thread for the last fifty years. I have been assigned as the first and only captain of the Thread. I wish to set this millennium as the peace bringing era of the Universe, and set the legacy of not just my father, but the entire Solar Scientist team, and the humans of the past. Especially Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci and so much more. They saw the Space Era thousands of years ago, and now it's before our hands. Some of you may think that I am too young to be the captain of the Thread – I mean, I am currently only thirteen years old. But in twelve years, you will see that Luvin, my father, didn't make a single mistake choosing me as the captain."
This millennium is now set for him, and the Thread will have his ashes and most valuable belonging – Rain, forever inside. He led the Thread project for 50 years and was one of the most major scientists in the "Solar Scientists" team, even promoting it outside the Solar System.
For the next five years, Rain grieved less and accepted her father's death. She went on to finish the Thread, being fully ready for the launch. On her eighteenth birthday, she went to finish her education at the Badima University and made several changes (in length to support personal rooms, and put things needed to live there forever on a checklist for Titan – a well-known mall-moon in the system).
At the age of 20, in the year 5007 of the Space Era, Rain joined the "Solar Scientists", and quickly rose to her ranks. As the first – and only Thread captain, she is assigned as the "Universal Peacekeeper".
The last five years were the longest years of Rain's life.
"This simulation is too difficult".
Rain tried to simulate her Thread ride situation until she learned it.
"Okay, I finally understand".
"Martial arts are quite hard".
Rain was learning every type of martial art. Nobody knows what awaits on the other side of the Universe. Maybe a huge mythological monster, maybe God itself, maybe even Devourers.
"Wham!". Rain understands martial arts now.
Rain was studying and training fighting, riding, and mental thoughts.
She was known in the Universe; she had to be perfect and not get herself hurt ever. This is also why Luvin has said "Bring yourself upon a team, treat each other as family, and at the end, you'll be unstoppable. Do not get yourself into life-threatening situations."
"My journey will be eternal. And I will make sure that it's the journey that everyone can dream of and be happy to be a part of."
Finally, the time has come. Year 5012 of the Space Era. Month of Leaves, Day 26.
7906 years into the research of the Astral Thread.
