Dylan confirmed the mole on a Friday morning with the clean satisfaction of a man who has been building something carefully and has just watched it hold.

The contact records were complete. Graves had been in communication with Holmes's operation seventeen times over eight months and the timing of every significant leak correlated precisely with Graves's access windows. The data taken was specific, not broad sweeps but targeted pulls, exactly the information Holmes needed at each stage of his operation. This was not opportunism. This was instruction.

Dylan compiled the final document with his usual precision, sourced and dated and everything in sequence, the kind of file that left no interpretive gaps. He brought it to Roman at eight on Monday morning as agreed.

Roman read it in its entirety without speaking. Then he set it down and looked at Dylan.

"Monday," Roman said. "Redundancy notice. By end of day. Documentation served, no confrontation, security escort out by five."
