Lancelot soon walked over and assessed Eli's condition. "I think he's reached his limit. We should have him treated today."
Adrian finally released Eli's hair and stood up, gesturing for Lancelot to contact the medical staff at the university hospital. Once he had given the order, he turned and walked away without showing any intention of staying to check on Eli's injuries himself.
Connor leaned back against the railing of the viewing corridor, watching Adrian's departing figure before turning to Dominic with a puzzled expression.
"What do you think their relationship is?"
"They look so pitiful."
Connor was beginning to feel a little sorry for the Chief, but Adrian himself seemed completely unmoved by whatever was happening around him. Dominic merely smiled without offering an explanation, which somehow made the situation even more unsettling.
