After leaving the café, Bai Ling slowed his steps, reluctant to let go of Li Yuxi's hand. Their fingers were still interlocked, his thumb brushing lightly against her palm.
"Let's go." Bai Ling glanced at her. "I'll drop you home."
Li Yuxi shook her head. "No need. I made plans with my school friends. We haven't met in a long time." Her voice carried a faint trace of apology.
Bai Ling paused, then smiled faintly. "Alright."
He released her hand and reached up, gently tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "I'll call you tonight."
"Mm." Li Yuxi nodded, lowering her gaze shyly.
Bai Ling chuckled. His gaze lingered for a moment longer, as if trying to memorize every detail before finally turning toward his car.
