Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Shadows of the Past

Blue stood alone on a quiet rooftop overlooking Neo Domino City. The bright city lights flickered below, casting a kaleidoscope of colors across the sky. He took a deep breath, trying to steady his thoughts.

His reflection shimmered faintly in a nearby glass window—blue hair, striking blue eyes, a face he didn't recognize. He touched his face, feeling the unfamiliarity.

Why am I here? he wondered, frustration and confusion swirling inside him. How did I get here?

His memories were like fragments—blurred images, fleeting feelings, but no clear reason for why he found himself in this strange new world. Was he just transported here? Or was there something he was supposed to remember?

He looked down at his hands, clenched into fists. Who am I?

Suddenly, a burst of laughter and cheers caught his attention from below. Curious, he looked over the edge of the rooftop and saw a group of kids gathered in a small park, dueling with bright smiles on their faces. They were trading cards, summoning monsters, and shouting excitedly.

One kid summoned a monster, and another responded with a clever move. Their joy, their pure enthusiasm—it was infectious.

Blue's gaze softened. For the first time since arriving in this world, he felt a flicker of warmth—something familiar, yet distant. A reminder that maybe, just maybe, he could find happiness here too.

He took a shaky breath, pulling himself back from the edge of despair. He clenched his fists again, trying to steel himself.

I don't know who I am, he thought, but I can choose who I want to become. I'll find my way.

His resolve hardened just as Jack's voice broke through the quiet.

"Hey, Blue."

Blue turned to see Jack approaching with a bottle of cold cola in hand.

"Thought you might need this," Jack said, offering it with a small grin.

Blue accepted the cola, the coldness refreshing against his palms. He nodded silently, taking a sip and feeling the coolness wash over him.

"Thanks," he said quietly.

Jack looked out at the city, then back at Blue.

"Remember," he said softly, "sometimes you gotta look at the world through others' eyes to find your own way. Those kids? They're just happy because they love the game. Maybe that's what you need—something to remind you of what makes you feel alive."

Blue looked at the kids again, a faint smile forming on his lips.

"Yeah," he replied softly. "I'll find out who I am. I'll remember."

Jack clapped him on the shoulder.

"That's the spirit. Let's keep moving forward."

As the city lights shimmered beneath them, Blue took another sip of his cola, feeling a little more grounded. The past was still a mystery, but the future was his to shape.
