Chapter 47 - Chapter 46: The Aftermath of the Bloodline Incident

Soon after all the Gryffindors had arrived, Madam Hooch, the flight instructor, came.

This is a woman with two yellow, eagle-like eyes and short gray hair.

As soon as she reached the lawn, she had the students choose brooms and stand in line: "Hurry up, make the most of the time!"

Ethan Jones casually picked up an empty broomstick, stood beside it, and waited for her next instructions.

He glanced at the neglected broom and realized there was a reason why no one wanted it; it was old and worn, with more twigs on one side than the other, making it look unbalanced.

Seeing that everyone was already in position, Madam Hooch called out, "Extend your right hand and place it above the broom."

Then she said, 'Up!'

"Up!" Ethan Jones shouted along with everyone else.

The old broom immediately jumped up from the ground, landed in his palm, and he grasped it.

He glanced at Hermione; her broom had merely rolled on the ground and hadn't managed to jump up as she'd hoped.

"She's still too nervous. If she relaxes a bit, things might be very different." Ethan Jones watched as Hermione kept trying, but the broom wouldn't obey and wouldn't jump up and land in her hands.

Madam Hooch gave several more instructions until everyone had completed this step before she began to demonstrate how to mount the broom without sliding off.

"Look at my hand, hold it like this," she shouted.

During each of the first years' independent attempts, she kept moving around the group, correcting their grip.

"Malfoy, no, change your grip, it's still wrong, you should do it like this." Draco, who prided himself on his extensive flying experience, was being corrected by Madam Hooch, which made him quite resentful.

As Madam Hooch left him, he whispered to Ethan Jones, "I've always ridden a broom like this since I was a kid. She's not telling the whole story."

As he spoke, he glared at Harry and Ron, who were watching him with schadenfreude.

It was all Draco's fault for being so impulsive. He already had some issues with the two of them, and after what happened that morning, they officially became enemies.

Hermione told him that in the morning, Neville received a Remembrall from his grandmother—a glass ball filled with white smoke, which, when held tightly, would turn red whenever he forgot something.

He thought to himself, "This is perfect for someone as forgetful as Neville, even though he can't remember what he forgot at all."

I don't know why Draco passed by the Gryffindor table and even took the Remembrall from Neville.

Harry and Ron, who already disliked him, decided to stand up for Neville and give Draco a good beating.

Although Professor McGonagall eventually stopped the farce, both sides were very angry.

Ethan Jones still remembers Hermione's angry expression: "Malfoy is a bully, a piece of trash. Don't defend him anymore!"

He had no choice but to shut up, because Draco was indeed in the wrong for crossing two long tables to play a prank on someone who was already forgetful.

Knowing that trouble would ensue in this class, Ethan Jones could only try to avoid the events depicted in the movie.

"However, if I really do that, does that mean Harry Potter's Quidditch journey will have to start in his second year?"

Ethan Jones, who had been slightly hesitant, heard Madam Hooch's voice and stopped thinking about it. The most important thing was to do well in his Flying lessons. If something unexpected happened and he fell from a great height and died, it would be the most ridiculous thing in the world.

"Alright, listen to my whistle. As soon as I blow the whistle, you will push off the ground with your legs."

Note that you need to push hard.

"Next, hold the broom steady, rise a few feet, just a few feet, then lean forward slightly and fall vertically back to the ground."

Before the whistle even sounded, the overly nervous Neville pushed off with all his might and flew into the sky.

"Come back!" Madam Hooch called out.

But Neville had lost control of his broom. He rose straight up as if launched, quickly soaring more than twenty feet into the air.

Neville, pale-faced and panting heavily with his mouth agape, stared at the receding ground. His hand slipped from his grip, and he slid off the broom, crashing heavily to the ground and curling up into a ball.

The out-of-control broom flew towards the Forbidden Forest, but by then no one was paying attention to its movements.

Madam Hooch's face was as pale as Neville's. She looked down at Neville, examining his injuries to make sure he was still alive.

"His wrist is broken, but he's still alive." Her expression softened slightly.

"Alright, child, get up, it's alright now," she whispered to Neville.

"I'm taking him to the Hospital Wing. No one else is allowed to use the broom, or they'll be expelled!"

The lucky Neville was able to stand up, and he limped away, supported by Madam Hooch.

"What a miserable life, Neville. He's only been in school for three weeks and he's already been to the hospital twice." Watching his departing figure, Ethan Jones shook his head, put the broom aside, and walked towards Hermione.

He had barely taken a step when he heard the two sides arguing.

He sighed, really not wanting to deal with these messy things.

"Remembrall! How about I put it on a tree and let Longbottom retrieve it?" Draco laughed loudly.

"Draco, don't cause trouble. Wait for Neville to come back and give it back to him." Ethan Jones really didn't want to get involved, but Hermione was watching him.

"Why are you listening to him!" Pansy Parkinson yelled at Draco.

Draco ignored her, hesitating whether to give up.

"Did you hear me? Bring the Remembrall over here!" Harry added fuel to the fire, instantly making Draco forget all his worries.

The two of them mounted brooms and began a flying race, chasing each other.

Hermione, on the other hand, shouted anxiously from below, "Come down quickly! Madam Hooch said we're not allowed to move, you'll be in big trouble!"

The two were exchanging blows in the air when suddenly Malfoy threw the Remembrall, and Harry plummeted to the ground. Just before reaching the ground, he caught the Remembrall and landed on the ground.

"Too dangerous! Too awful!" Hermione muttered repeatedly, her face pale.

"Harry Potter!" It was Professor McGonagall's voice.

She angrily called Harry away, while the remaining group reacted in various ways, some worried for him, others gloating.

After his moment of triumph, Draco stood silently beside Ethan Jones.

Ethan Jones didn't even bother to say anything offensive: "Draco, do less of this kind of thing in the future. I know you have a grudge against Harry Potter, but this isn't how you resolve things. Just watch, you'll be punished soon."

"Hmm." He nodded, not looking at Pansy who was still indignant.

Ethan Jones had no idea what the ugly girl was so smug about; he just kept looking in her direction.

Under Ethan Jones's watchful gaze, Pansy recalled the red light in Ethan Jones's eyes at the Astronomy Tower and finally calmed down.

Soon, Madam Hooch returned. She was very angry about what had just happened, but since no one was injured and the other party involved had been called away by Professor McGonagall, she simply deducted ten points from Slytherin as punishment.

The thrilling Flying lesson was over, and Ethan Jones had learned how to ride a broomstick and fly slowly in the air, which made him even more determined to learn real Flight without any tools.
