Cato went out in the morning. He left Nimo at home, hoping he would be able ot let him know when Lyra woke up. It had been two days, and she had not made a peep. He felt uneasy being away from her. But he also could not stay in the same room.
He had taken to sleeping outside.
When Nimo came ot him with news that Lyra was awake, he quickly linked someone and asked them to take over his shift at the gate.
When he arrived, he saw the priestess and Lyra sitting up in bed. They seemed to be talking. He hadn't meant to interrupt anything.
Before he could make up his mind to leave, he saw the priestess getting up. As soon as she left, he ran over to hug Lyra.
"You're awake," he said joyously.
She nodded, smiling back at him. He saw her scanning him. Taking in every inch of him as though it were the first time they had met.
"Is something wrong?" he asked.
"Nothing, Nothing at all." Lyra shook her head. Her stomach growled.
