The cheering started as soon as Visha made the statement.
The heavy atmosphere that had plagued the pack disappeared. They no longer needed to worry about whether someone would get into the caldera without their knowledge.
Visha watched them celebrate and couldn't be happier.
When the cheering died down, Chi spoke up, "I have something I want to ask."
The pack looked at her. They waited for her to speak. "Instead of closing off the pass, why don't we build a gate?"
Murmurs began immediately, not condemning, but agreeing.
There was never any talk about building a gate; they only wanted to plug the hole.
"Why a gate?" Visha asked.
Chi stood, easy-going as always. "Don't you plan to be a part of the world? We can't stay in here forever. Ehe pointed to Kaelen. "This guy had already been added. I'm sure we're going to add more people. Might as well give them a place to walk. We can put a gate at both entrances."
Visha gave a thumbs up. She nodded; it made sense.
