Seeing Cain start to cry again, Saphen didn't feel annoyed at all. Instead, he only felt that Cain was truly pitiful—he must have gone through many terrifying things.
He rubbed Cain's head and asked softly, "Did I wake you up?"
Cain hurriedly shook his head.
Saphen smiled. "You don't need to be so cautious. But next time, when you're home alone, remember to lock the door, okay?"
As he spoke, he set the food down on the cabinet to one side and said, "Here's dinner. After you finish eating, remember to take the medicine after thirty minutes…"
Saphen began separating the medicine for Cain, giving careful instructions. Only after going over everything with Cain once more did he finally leave.
Cain watched as Saphen hurried back just as quickly as he had come, his gaze following him until Saphen's figure completely disappeared beyond the door.
