Gianna mumbled her reply to Areso's question, leaning into her friend as they all stood outside the police station, waiting for the guards to turn the cars around toward where they stood.
The late afternoon air brushed against her face, cool but not enough to calm the heat still simmering beneath her skin. And there was no statement truer.
With justice finally coming up, even with the club matter hanging overhead like a gathering storm cloud, Gianna felt somewhat better, lighter, even while simmering with rage, more so with her mother being alive.
That, she was yet to grasp a hundred percent. Her mother being alive. It still felt surreal.
A soft smile slithered across her lips before she could help it, making Athena sigh with relief when she saw it.
