Although Carabella found the conversation between the two wealthy people sweet, Jefferson began to feel uncomfortable talking to Larissa. Increasingly, he felt Larissa was deliberately engaging him in conversation to prevent him from rescuing Carabella from the storm.
Jefferson began to worry as the situation outside the gazebo began to spiral out of control. The wind was so strong that some gardening equipment was flying, and he was afraid something would happen to his beloved woman. His hands clenched tightly on his thighs. If he could escape from Larissa now, he definitely wouldn't be hated by Carabella.
"Jefferson, what's wrong with you?" Larissa asked as she poured her friend some chamomile tea.
"The wind is really strong out there."
"Are you worried about Carabella?"
His head nodded stiffly.
