Chapter 85 - Millishion

A few more days passed, and we finally arrived at Milishion.

To describe it, this place looked the most like a fantasy world city I've ever seen. Towering city walls, bustling crowds, giant magic pillars I could see from afar, combined with houses built closely together sharing a color scheme of white and pale blue, looking like the individual scales of a giant dragon.

It wasn't just me; Isolde—who was supposed to be sitting at the back of the caravan—had also come up to sit right next to me to gaze at the city from a distance. Even though she tried not to make it too obvious, her eyes, which had been somewhat bored from the long trip, now sparkled with excitement. She clenched her fists and her lips pressed together into an indescribably cute smile.

I don't know why, but every time I see this face on Isolde, my heart skips a few beats. So dangerous… As a guy who already has a fiancée, I shouldn't be so easily captivated by another girl like this.

While my heart was fluttering, a soldier walked up to us.

"Halt! Present your papers."

"Here, here."

The caravan leader immediately handed over his travel pass. The soldier just held the paper, glanced over it indifferently, and then peered past us towards our carriage. More specifically, he was looking at Roxy, who didn't look comfortable at all being stared at. I can understand that many people have a preference for young girls, but being this blatant is just rude.

"You there!" But instead of speaking politely, the soldier barked. "You're a Demon, aren't you?"

"Yes..." Roxy sighed.

So he's the type to throw his weight around to show attitude. Even though I have no experience picking up girls, talking like that won't win anyone over, buddy.

"Then your entry fee is one gold coin."

However, contrary to what I was thinking, the current situation looked more like an extortion.

"Hey, wait, wait, wait. Why is there-"

Before I could even speak up, Roxy immediately reached out her hand to stop me.

"It's fine." With that, she turned to the soldier, slowly handing over a gold coin to the guy. "Here."

"Hmph. Go on in, then. And don't cause any trouble you Demon!"

Even though he got the money, the guy didn't look satisfied at all. He even shot me a challenging glare before walking away. Honestly, I wanted to send that guy to meet Saint Millis right then and there.

"What was that about?" I asked Roxy, trying to hide my anger.

"You heard what the soldier said. Because I'm a Demon, I have to pay a toll to enter the city," Roxy replied. "The Millis religion inherently hates Demons."

"I don't." I shook my head and looked over at Isolde. "Neither does she."

However, contrary to my expectations, Isolde scratched her head.

"Actually..."

Turns out that before knowing Roxy was my friend's master, Isolde already knew of her existence. And since Isolde back then kept hearing rumors that Demons were all evil, she was a bit scared and always found ways to sneak away and avoid making eye contact. Later on, things changed, and they actually got to know each other and became friends.

"So you used to be a petty racist too huh?" I stared disappointedly at Isolde.

"Hey now," Isolde cleared her throat. "I was only 12 back then, and if you hear something your whole life, you're bound to believe it, right? Besides, anyone who follows Millis gets taught that Demons are dangerous, that they're the enemy."

I forgot that in this world, racial discrimination hasn't been deemed a bad thing yet. But even so, it's not the right thing to do. I still think hatred is necessary in certain situations, but it should be directed at individuals rather than entire races. Like how I hate Pilemon or Darius, but that doesn't mean I hate all humanity, okay?

"But this is really messed up," I sighed. "There must be some way to put an end to this, right?"

While I was pondering what to do, Isolde dragged me inside the city.

"Come on, stop talking about that stuff and focus on what's in front of us. Let's just stick to our assigned tasks."

"Ah, right." I nodded and looked toward Roxy. "We're heading to the Adventurer's Guild, right?"

"Yeah, let's go." Roxy nodded.

And so, our group split up.

The thing is, a few days ago, we discussed what we'd do right when we arrived here. To make things convenient for everyone, each person would handle one task to save time and effort. Specifically, Isolde would hit the inns to find rooms first; with her observational and social skills, she'd definitely find the best place for us all. Talhand would go with the caravan to the Commercial District; the caravan leader told him he'd introduce him to some good forging material suppliers. As for Roxy and me, we would head to the Adventurer's Guild in the south to look for Paul and his party.

Since we came in from the east gate, it was convenient for me to take a pretty big detour around a quarter of the city.

Honestly, the construction and planning of the Commercial District left me quite impressed. Traffic was routed very logically, the roads were wide and solidly paved with stone, ensuring no mud when it rained. The entire district was divided into seventeen different wards, each selling a specific type of goods, concentrated purely on that one type. For example, walking through the food ward, you'd see food sold along a massively long street, crowded and incredibly lively.

That's exactly what I'd call a proper food market. If I had to choose one city to live in for the rest of my life out of all the places I've been, Milishion would easily take the top spot.

The timing was perfect, so I took out my notepad to jot down what I saw, the unique things that only this place had. Like prices, local specialties, and all that.

The reason being I want to write a cooking book, and taking notes on the ingredients I find on my journey is also a pretty fun activity. Besides, I also have this desire to become a teacher, right? If I have cool stuff to tell between lectures to supplement my teaching curriculum, all the better.

But thinking about this topic brought a question to mind.

"Master Roxy, why did you become a tutor?"

"Eh?"

Roxy, who was focusing on the road, seemed a bit caught off guard by my question. She pondered for a moment, as if debating whether to answer me or not, then replied.

"W-Why are you asking this?" she asked back, frowning slightly, looking oddly guarded.

"Just curious. I heard from Isolde that you were an adventurer before studying in Sharia and then becoming a tutor for Rudeus. So there must be a reason for it." I spoke truthfully. "I want to be a teacher too anyway, so I'm curious about the experiences of someone who came before me."

Actually, if we count my past life, I'm probably the one with prior experience. The real reason is I wanted to get the perspective of someone who basically shares my career path. My guess was that maybe Roxy became a teacher because she likes kids. Or... maybe because she wanted to improve her own knowledge and broaden the horizons of the next generation.

However, contrary to my deduction, Roxy just sighed.

"Actually, it's because I couldn't find any other job at the time, so when I saw his family was looking for a tutor, I just decided to apply..."

"Ah, so that's it." I nodded.

Roxy being unemployed wasn't surprising, especially since she was in Asura, a country where discrimination against Demons was probably only second to the Holy Kingdom of Millis. Just like in Buena Village, Sylphy got bullied just because of her hair color.

But Roxy's situation was pretty similar to mine in my past life, huh? Also graduated from a prestigious school, then due to 'certain reasons' couldn't find a good job, and ultimately ended up teaching and meeting a student who made her like the profession.

Speaking of that kid, I hope he's doing okay. After all, I tried to save his life back then; if I lost my life and something still happened to him, I'd be an incurable idiot.

Actually, back then I was just a substitute teacher; I only got the job because the main teacher went on maternity leave. So thinking back on it, I would have been unemployed again in just a few months... Now, is it a bit too sarcastic to say it's lucky I got hit by a truck and reincarnated?

"By the way, you said you want to be a tutor, Atur?" Roxy asked.

"Actually, being a professor at some academy would be nice." I replied.

"With your skill then teaching swordsmanship is the most visible right? Then you can open your own dojo. I can imagine many younglings would want to learn from you."

"Ah… That's an option."

Even though a week at the Lighthouse Academy did make me enjoy teaching more. But I don't think I'm very good at teaching swordsmanship, especially the complex techniques. Maybe because I already had good intellect to begin with, I could grasp the principles of applying them. Whereas normal people wouldn't know about that stuff, making it pretty hard to explain.

Like having to teach them dozens of layers of dynamics to understand the mechanics of Perfect Reverse. And that's not even mentioning the application of battle aura. I have zero idea how to explain; I just naturally know how to use it. It's like I was born with the ability to learn it easier than normal people.

Oh, and then there's the whole Blood Tribe thing. Put all that together and I have no idea how to train a good swordsman.

But... maybe this is just me setting my expectations too high? Most people's goal is just to reach the Advanced tier anyway. If it's just that level, I could probably teach it.

"An option?" Roxy blinked, repeating my answer. "So you also intend to teach magic?"

"Honestly, yes." I admitted. "I prefer magic."

I don't remember how many times I've mentioned this, but yeah, I really do prefer magic. If it wasn't for the fact that I have the mana capacity of a potato, I'd rather hide somewhere and go pew pew with spells than jump around waving a sword.

But thinking back, what if I hadn't learned swordsmanship?

First off, I don't know if I would've gotten that 5th birthday party and been sent to the Royal Capital. Based on what I know, none of Pilemon's unrecognized children were sold into slavery, so maybe I would have just been sent to some school back in my hometown. If that had happened, I probably wouldn't have gone through countless events like the ones in the Royal Capital, in Roa, on the Demon Continent, and recently in Zant Port.

Maybe my life would have been quite peaceful, exactly what I always wished for, but this right here is exactly what I needed.

"Thanks to you, I'm now a Fire King-tier Mage after only three months," Roxy admitted. "So maybe you'd be more suited for that job than even me."

"No, no. That's because Master Roxy's learning ability is just too good. While I can't even scrape up enough mana to use a Saint-tier spell."

"Whether you can do it or not isn't the point. What matters is the ability to pass it on," Roxy answered slowly, her feet still moving continuously past the stalls. Crossing a spacious plaza, she stopped and turned to me with a serious expression. "If you want to be a teacher, you have to remember this, understand?"

"Okay, got it." I immediately gave a thumbs up, grinning widely. "Besides that, does Master Roxy have any other lessons?"

"I'm being serious here."

"So am I."

Actually, I completely understood Roxy's point. I've read quite a few manga about education anyway, so all those principles about knowledge and the role of a teacher have been drilled into my mind for a long time. The most important thing for an educator is to bring out the best version of their students.

"Sigh... Oh well, you're still young so there's no rush." Roxy turned around and continued walking towards the Adventurer District.

While Roxy seemed to still think I was just a kid fooling around. But sure, she isn't wrong, I'm technically only...

Oh wait, isn't my birthday coming up soon? I don't remember exactly when my birthday is. All I remember is that it's around the time autumn leaves turn yellow and start falling. The problem is that autumn on the Millis Continent is inherently different from Asura, so it's pretty hard to tell. I only realized it when I saw a notice earlier stating it's already October.

And birthdays mean presents, right? Honestly, I'm not really expecting any gifts right now. The only thing I want is to see Eris and the Boreas family again.

Thinking about them, I can't help but grin, wondering how they'll react when they see me now. He he he, especially Eris. I want to pinch the cheeks of my tsundere fiancée.

After a rather long walk, we finally reached the Adventurer's District. At first glance, this place is completely different from the Commercial District. It has a much more relaxed, free-wheeling vibe. It caters to every kind of need an adventurer might have: inns, taverns, casinos...

It might seem a bit weird that there are inns here, yet Isolde didn't tag along with us, huh? The reason, as mentioned, is that by some miracle—according to the experience of the merchants traveling with us—the inns in the Commercial District are both cheaper and of significantly better quality. Is it simply because it's further away from the Adventurer's District? But since we don't plan on taking any quests and are just staying for a few days before hitting the road again—and we really wanted a nice place to stay after days of traveling—we chose the place that suited us best.

Oh, there's also a slum here. According to Roxy, it's a pretty complicated place, full of washed-up adventurers eking out a miserable living. Luckily, since Roxy knows the way, I didn't have to walk through it. On the downside, we ended up walking past the slave market instead.

I'm not really a fan of this whole slavery thing, so I didn't pay much attention at first. But looking closely, this market is full of people who look much more rugged and weather-beaten than your average slaves. Ah, wait, there are normal people too. Seeing them locked up in cages like this makes me realize how good I have it being free. But why does the Holy Kingdom of Millis support slavery anyway? So confusing.

"Wait, did we somehow get lost and end up back in the Commercial District?" I asked.

"No, the slave market is located in the Adventurer's District," Roxy replied.

"Eh? Why?"

"Because there are casinos here."

"Now that explains a lot."

The lesson here is don't gamble ok?

After that, we passed the slave market and made our way to the adventurer's guild.

The Guild here is unusually huge. Normally, a guild is about the size of a restaurant—just enough seating and workspace for the receptionists and a records room. This place is a billion times grander than that. Its size rivals a mansion—no, more like three or four mansions combined, forming a majestic, badass, two-story silver building. There's even a fountain in front of the gate and a statue of someone I don't even recognize. The founder of the Adventurer's Guild, maybe?

Walking inside, I was even more blown away by its internal scale. The main hall is larger than the banquet hall in Roa, and the sheer number of people bustling about is just as overwhelming, with all sorts of races present.

And now that I'm here, I just noticed something. It seems like ever since we entered the Adventurer's District, the number of people looking at us with disdain has dropped significantly. The way people look at each other here is just like normal strangers, without the prejudice you'd see at the gates or in parts of the Commercial District.

That's a good thing. But our real challenge is just beginning. I craned my neck, looking around, utilizing the observational skills of a Water God Style swordsman to search for my uncle.

"With it being this crowded, finding Uncle Paul is gonna be tough." I scratched my forehead after failing to spot anyone. Partly because I'm too damn short to get a decent line of sight.

"Let me try asking at the reception," Roxy said.

"Good idea."

However, before taking even ten steps, a familiar voice rang out.

"Miss Roxy and Young Master Atur?"

I immediately turned my head and was met with a monstrous pair of boobs—I mean, a woman in a maid outfit with dark red hair. It was Lilia, the maid of the Greyrat household and Paul's second wife. Maybe it's because I'm not great at noticing details, or maybe I just never paid much attention to Lilia, but even after all these years, she looks exactly the same as the last time I saw her. Even her outfit hasn't changed.

"Hello, Lilia." Before I could say anything, Roxy responded with a faint smile. "It's been a while."

"Yes, it's a pleasure to see you both again." Lilia bowed her head slightly in a polite manner. "I hope both you and Young Master Atur have been well."

"I'm doing well," Roxy replied.

"Ah, yeah... me too," I said.

"You must be looking for Paul, right?" Lilia asked. "I'm on my way to him right now, so we can go together."

"Yes. Please lead the way," Roxy said, then followed behind Lilia.

Honestly, I was pretty surprised that the first person I'd run into would be Lilia. But it makes sense, since the Man-God did tell me that Master Reida brought her and Aisha to Milishion. So it turns out that god was actually telling the truth.

If that's the case, this is gonna be troublesome...

"Ah, Lilia. This might be a weird question, but... is Master Reida currently with Uncle Paul?" I asked cautiously.

Lilia continued moving quite nimbly, stepping out of the guild gates before answering my question in her familiar, calm, monotonous voice.

"The Water God left a week ago due to the current incident in Asura."

"Oh, really? Thank Saint Millis." I let out a sigh of relief.

My Master had threatened to chop off my arm if I hadn't completed my mission by the next time we met. Given the current situation, I definitely haven't finished it yet, so naturally, I didn't want to run into her. There's a chance it was just an empty threat, I know that. Then again, Isolde herself said our master was dead serious about it, which is exactly why I'm so worried.

But for some reason, I felt like Lilia's gaze toward me carried some strange emotion. There was a hint of pity in it. Maybe because of my appearance? After all, a kid not even past puberty losing an eye is a genuine tragedy. But the priority right now is meeting Paul and figuring out our next steps, so it's best I don't say anything about it for the time being.

So we headed back toward the district's main road. Along the way, Roxy and Lilia exchanged a few pleasantries. I also chatted with Lilia a bit, mostly asking about how Aisha and Norm were doing. It seems the two Greyrat daughters are attending school here in Milishion under the patronage of the Latreia household—Zenith's family.

They seem to be a top dog in this Kingdom or something. Just like the Greyrats in Asura.

"It's here."

Lilia said as we walked into a small tavern near the slave market. Perhaps because it was only midday, the tavern wasn't too crowded. I could see one or two groups huddled together, drinking. One of those groups looked our way when they saw Lilia. They consisted of a few guys and a couple of girls. They didn't look like anything special, except for one girl who was wearing a bikini-style armor that exposed a ridiculous amount of skin.

Oh boy, must not look, please don't look. I swore I'd be a gentleman, I need to look somewhere else. Hmm, let's see... Maybe counting the chairs is a good way to distract myself...

And yet, even though I actively tried to ignore her, it was that exact provocatively-dressed girl who struck up a conversation.

"You're back from the guild, Lilia? Did everything go well?"

"Everything is fine," Lilia replied. "The travel documents have all been prepared."

"That's great. Then now we just have to wait for the horse rental guys to get back to us."

The girl clenched her fists and hopped up in excitement, causing her massive boobs to bounce up and down in a very 'physics-compliant' way, he he he... Whoa, no, no, no. Gotta look away.

As a result, my eyes accidentally landed on another girl in Lilia's group of acquaintances. She was the complete opposite of the bikini girl; she was wearing a long cloak that covered her all the way down to her feet. Her hair covered half of her face in an incredibly gloomy way.

"Ugh..."

And for some unknown reason, she suddenly flinched and turned her face away as if I were some kind of insect. What the heck?

"Hm?" The bikini girl turned to look at her friend, then looked back at me, clearly annoyed. "By the way, who are these two kids, Lilia?"

"..." Now it was Roxy's turn to be annoyed.

But thankfully, neither Roxy nor I reacted. Lilia was the one who explained.

"They are acquaintances of Paul. They are the ones who sent the letter to let us know Zenith's location."

"Oh, so that's it huh? The Captain is up in his room." Her attitude immediately became much less hostile. Then she craned her neck toward the stairs and shouted up, "Captain Paul! Lilia is back! And she brings back your friends as well!"

Captain? So these people must be part of the search and rescue squad for those missing due to the Mana Disaster. For some reason, they've split into two distinct male and female groups. Based on the number of people sitting here, there are only about 7 of them. If they're just an adventurer party, that's a pretty high number unless they're taking on some high-ranked quest. But for a group undertaking a massive task like rescuing millions of people, it's a bit small. I thought there would be hundreds of them. Maybe they divided the work among themselves or something?

While I was pondering all this, a hoarse voice rang out from the stairs.

"What are you yelling for, Vierra—hm?"

It was a tall, thin, but still very muscular man. Exhaustion and countless sleepless nights had made the roguish face that used to captivate so many girls look completely haggard; his stubble was patchy and he looked quite unkempt. But I could still recognize my Uncle Paul Greyrat by his signature ponytail and the mole under his left eye, exactly like Rudeus's.

"Is that Miss Roxy and little Atur?" In an instant, those green eyes lit up. "I thought it'd be another few weeks before you guys made it through the Great Forest? Is the rainy season over?"

"Hello Paul. It's been a while," Roxy spoke up.

"Hi, Uncle Paul." I also bowed my head.

"Oh man, no need to be so formal." His tired face suddenly beamed with joy. Paul hurriedly slipped on his remaining shoe and stood up straight. He bowed his head to us with utter sincerity. "Thank you both for helping to search for my family all this time. I really appreciate it!"

"Ah, don't. No need for formalities," Roxy immediately grew flustered. "Ah, Lilia, please don't bow like that either... And why are you bowing too, Atur!?"

"Because Master Roxy has contributed so much."

"But you also helped!"

Honestly, I kind of guessed a scene like this would happen. Didn't expect it to actually play out. So I just played along. Just teasing for fun, though. The important business was still there.

After that, Paul treated us to a round of drinks. I probably should have refused since it was only midday but in the end, I took the alcohol, like a man.

My uncle then asked for more specifics about mine and Roxy's journey. Naturally, given the hierarchy, I had to let Roxy tell her story first. She talked about her journey from Shirone back to Fittoa and then setting off, meeting Isolde, and later Talhand and Elinalise. Then she recounted everything that happened on the Demon Continent.

"So in the end, Elinalise crossed the ocean to deliver the news to Rudeus?" Paul nodded slowly.

"Yes. She said that, um..." Roxy was about to say something else, but hesitated.

"Let me guess, she said she didn't want to see my face, right?"

"Yeah..."

I had heard that Elinalise didn't seem to like Paul very much (according to Isolde; the elf woman didn't say anything to me). However, judging by this reaction, they definitely have some kind of history. Normally, I would've guessed that Paul seduced her and then bailed, which is why she hates him. But knowing what Elinalise is like, I'm really not sure. The idea of her falling madly in love with someone is absurd enough, let alone holding a grudge because that person got married.

Well, other people's business. I don't really care, so whatever.

"But to think everyone did so much for my family like this..." Paul muttered to himself for a bit, then turned to me sitting across from him. "And little Atur, you got sent to the Demon Continent too, right? And you still managed to fend for yourself, pretty impressive young man!"

"Your son did the same, you know," I returned the compliment by flashing a thumbs up. "So we are both impressive."

"Ha ha, that boy is absolutely amazing!"

It's true that whenever my friend from Japan is brought up, Paul instantly gets all smug. This scene is exactly like the first time I met Paul, huh?

"But that kid had a Superd warrior by his side. And you are all by yourself so you would be more impressive."

Huh? Did I hear that right? Is Paul rating me higher than Rudeus? I mean... I could easily beat my ally in a one-on-one fistfight (back in the day), but managing to befriend a Superd is something worthy of respect in itself. If it were me, I probably would have bolted in the opposite direction or tried to fight him and die right after that.

And to be honest…

"Actually… I'm not there alone." I admitted. "I was there with Sir Ken and he sacrificed his life to save me."

"Ah." Paul looked at the sword at my hip and lowered his voice. "I'm sorry."

"Oh no no. Don't worry." I immediately put a smile on my face. "It's okay."

Paul stopped there for a while, then added a nod.

"I know Sir Ken, if he knows what kind of man you have become like today. He would be proud of you."

Somehow, just that line, it could make a smile on my face without me knowing it.

"Ye, maybe he would."

I know he just wants me to be a spawn for his scheme against Pilemon. But slowly, I can feel that he has genuine care about me as well. Maybe we are not blood related, but to be, he's like a dad I never had.

"Ah. Sorry for bringing that up." I scratched my head. "It's good to see you again uncle. After those years, time seems to be brutal with you huh?"

"Woah there young man, it is called 'matured'. Women like men with a little dirt on him. Don't you think Lilia?"

"Don't joke around and please shave your bear properly."

"I will hehe."

Seeing them like this makes me feel relieved. It seems like everyone around me is fine after all those troubles they have to face after that mana camility. I can feel the happy ending somewhere in the near future.

"So. Atur." Paul put his hand on the table, smirking at me. "I heard the story about you defeating a Demon King, conquering a labyrinth all by yourself. And people call you a Dragon-Demon King or something now right? Tell me more about that. It seems to be a fun little story when we drink aye?"

"Hold on, where did you hear that rumor?" I raised a hand and posed the question.

"Who doesn't know about it? Here in the Milishion, they talk about your name more than my party back in its prime. They said you are a new hero and a real champion of Saint Millis or something. Even the Knights and Church are talking about you." Paul rubbed his chin, breaking into a crude, boys-will-be-boys grin. "I also heard a rumor that you married some beautiful princess, huh? Lucky you."

"No, no. Wait wait wait, hold on, that's bullshit." I immediately objected. "It's all just a misunderstanding. She's a friend of mine who got into trouble while traveling to look for me, so I just helped her out."

Though honestly, when Roxy was recounting the story earlier, she should have been more clear about that part. All she said was "got into trouble with the Immortal Demon King Atofe."

Come to think of it, ever since Paul mentioned my name, it seems like everyone in the tavern has been staring at me and whispering to each other. So the rumors have spread all the way here.

"A misunderstanding, huh? He he." Paul continued flashing his sleazy grin. "Let me tell you kid, if there wasn't something between you two, no girl would travel halfway across the world to find you."

"You never heard of the term 'good friend' before huh?" I glared at Paul and then turned to Roxy for help. "Master Roxy, please say something. Isolde obviously doesn't have any feelings for me, right?"

"Ah, well... I guess so."

"Then why are you stammering, Master Roxy? Please look me straight in the eyes and say it with conviction."

Doing that is just gonna make Paul push it even further now!

"If you said so then I also think Isolde has feelings for you."

"You are not supposed to say that aaaaaa!!!"

This is definitely revenge for my teasing earlier! The adults in this world are so mean!

"Heh." See? That old man is doing his perverted smiling again.

"Please, let's just drop this topic." I rubbed my temples with a sigh. "If this reaches Eris's ears right now…."

I thought that rumor was contained to the Demon Continent, or Zant Port at the very most, but who would've thought it made it all the way to Milishion!? This is all Moore's fault! It's definitely that old geezer's doing. I swear, when I get back to Necross Fortress, I'm going to make him pay.

"Ah right… I forgot about her." Paul scratched his head. "So what is your plan to deal with your wife?"

"She's not my wife, yet. And I think I should explain everything to her before she kills me for that."

For now, I have no idea what's going to happen next. The news reaching Milishion means it'll eventually reach Asura and spread even further. I don't want to get castrated by Eris, boo hoo hoo!

"Good luck with that then." He smirked again. "Anyway, what is your plan now? Are you planning on going back to Fittoa? There's nothing at that place anymore."

"Err… about that. I'm planning on going to Beragitt with you."

"Eh?" He raised an eyebrow. Then, cross his arms. He suddenly became a proper uncle. "Ok listen here young man. I know you want to help but you are already far from home for many years now. Don't you want to go back and be with your wife or something?"

"Well the thing is…"

So I told Paul about Larry and how I got a promise to bring him back to his home.

"I see." Paul seemed to understand the situation. "Let me think about how to deal with it. And hmm… Ah there's something Reida leaves to you. Wait a second."

Paul then went up the stairs in haste. And just half a minute later, he already had a letter in his hand and gave it to me.

"Her letter for you."

"Oh thank you."

I took the letter with both of my hands then intended to put it into my pocket but Paul suddenly said, almost like a command.

"Read it. She told me 'make him read it as soon as possible or else'."

"Uh… okay."

I know my master is kinda weird and rude sometimes but isn't reading a letter right in front of other people isn't polite? But since it's the Water God we are talking about then better not trying to fight against her will.

Okay… let's see… Dear Isolde… Wait what the fuck?

"Um… uncle? Did she give you two letters by any chance?"

"Yep she did, what about it?"

I knew it.

"You gave me the wrong one."

"Holy shit I did, didn't I? Okay wait me a sec." Then he went up the stairs again.

My uncle sure is goofy sometimes huh?

At that time, I didn't know what master wanted me to do just yet. But when I took a look at Isolde's, I noticed the last line of it.

Go back to Asura.
