Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Was the kiss too soon?

Andrea felt her body tingle, as her hand brushed against her cheeks. She remembered how soft Kayden's lips were, and how his tongue begged to be welcomed into her mouth.

"Eiii" Andrea squealed as she threw her legs up, throwing a pillow over her face to reduce her screams. She was still in the beauty of yesterday's confession, but suddenly something snapped, she stopped dancing about.

Andrea shot up on her bed, all the excitement gone, as her shoulders had already slumped. Her mind raced, how could she be excited with the fact that Kayden is attracted to her? And a date, him being her boyfriend?

Andrea looked around her small apartment. She had moved out of her large condo after she had sold off all her glamorous clothes, and she made sure that she moved out in the night, to avoid the cameras.

Andrea moved to her window, her mind continued racing. What would people say when they know about them? Andrea shook her head. No, they aren't official yet. But you can't hide things from the media, the downfall of her agency confirmed that.

As these thoughts made way in Andrea's head, she didn't want to go out with Kayden anymore. But after she heard those words from Daxton, she literally ran to the bathroom and screamed her lungs out in excitement. It took her two minutes to make her heated cheeks come back to normal.

She wanted to go out with Kayden, she really did, but she wasn't sure if he was going to stay when the media starts their backlash on their relationship.

Andrea's ideology had always been rich and fancy people go for rich and fancy people, and now that Kayden West is saying he was attracted to her, she didn't feel worthy of such pricey attraction.

Andrea flinched as her phone rang violently on her bed. She just stared at it, as she froze. She suspected who was calling her, but she didn't move.

"Should I answer that?" Andrea pressed her thighs together, her heart was moving her towards her phone, but her head was filled with all the things that were wrong with her, that made her think she wasn't worthy of his attraction.

But..Andrea, wasn't one to back away from her feelings. Afterall, she had left her siblings to follow her love for modeling. But still, where did that land her?

"Hello?" Andrea nearly disappeared as she winced from how high her voice sounded.

"You alright?" Her heart, her poor heart. Before Andrea realized, she was smiling like a child that was being dashed a lollipop.

"Yeah, just…" Andrea cleared her throat, to try to settle her nerves, as she sat on her bed. "....trying to…uhm..eat?" What the hell was wrong with her?

"Eat. That's perfect. So, mind..uh..would you love to join me for lunch?"

Andrea's body tingled. At this rate, she might die with excitement. She was already profusely nodding, her voice lost in the waves that went through her body.

"Drea? You there?" Coming out of her hyper energy space, she realized that she hadn't yet answered Kayden, who was already beating himself up, thinking he asked too early.

"Yes, Kayden. I'm here. Of course, I'd love to go with you for lunch"

Andrea went off her phone, after talking with Kayden for sometime, and she rushed to her wardrobe, trying to find an outfit, but she soon, once again, remembered her loss.

Her wardrobe was now filled with jeans, and normal shirts, with some flannels.

She ransacked her drawer, hoping to find at least one designer item, but there was nothing. Kayden has known that her company has closed down, but he didn't know that she had sold everything.

She quickly accepted her fate and took out a black baggy jeans, with a crop flannel, and a basic sneakers. In ten minutes time she was ready to go, as there wasn't any more expensive products that she could waste an hour on.

Andrea sat at the restaurant that was dead quiet and empty. She thought made she had misheard the venue, but she asked around and this was the right place. Even when she tried rearranging the words, she was still corrected and led here.

Her legs bounced as each seconds passed. She was ten minutes early because she wanted to understand the type of restaurant it was, and like she knew, Kayden didn't disappoint.

As she sat here, staring at the menu, she was only reminded of how caged she was with her finances.

If were to order three plates of food, then, she'd really had to go and seek out a job.

"Hey, sorry, I'm late" The familiar scent of the dark, clean expensive perfume, she knew to only one person filled her nostrils, making her pull out her shimmering smile.

If there's anything sitting with Kayden had thought her, it was that, all those fronts she put up for the camera, especially that night she heard her world crashing down, it was all useless.

"No, I was the early one" Andrea lips curved into a tight smile, as she bit the inside of her mouth, while Kayden's eyes studied her intently. She couldn't even lift her head to look at him.

"Hmm..okay. You seem to be adding a little weight back, that's nice"

Andrea glanced up at him, but immediately put her eyes back down. She knew he wanted her to look up to him, but she didn't trust herself not to cry. Everything still felt so new to her, but her only comfort was sitting at the other side of this table, and still, she felt like she wasn't worthy of such.

"Andrea?" Her shoulders rose and fell, at the softness of Kayden's voice, one that always made her come undone.

"Yes" She finally raised her head to see the soft gaze in Kayden's eyes, and that's when she knew that she wasn't really scared of the fact that he liked her, she was scared of the incoming judgement, and…

Striving to be a golden girl was something she always did, and she, with her whole soul, avoided anything that would taint that reputation. She wanted to appear perfect, which also included, her relationship must be perfect.

SHE must be perfect.

And that's why, when her agency closing came alive on the news, she felt something in her die. And she knew she couldn't feel such, again, which unlocked another fear, one she had loved all her life…

…the camera.

"Are you alright? You look…tense, and uncomfortable" Before Andrea could recollect herself, reporters had already begun gathering like bees to honey, outside the building they sat.

Camera flashes increased, as the sounds and chaos outside, also increased.

Andrea froze. She felt the space around her grow smaller, as she struggled to take in deep breaths. She tried blinking through the sting caused by the salt and water in her eyes, but she couldn't, and seconds later, a tear escaped.

Kayden seeing her reaction, immediately ordered for the curtains to get closed, which, although didn't block out the noise, it held in hiding Andrea while she cried.

Another humiliation was awaiting her when she would tune in for the news, and she couldn't help, but hate the limelight even more.
