Albert wanted the fire to keep burning at least until the latter half of the night. So he discussed it with LQ and the others—they would take turns checking on the campfire every two hours.
After adding more branches, Albert didn't leave right away. Instead, he spread out the banana-leaf picnic mat that Hayes had earlier crawled across, using it as a makeshift workbench beside the hot pot.
From his palm, Albert pulled out a rectangular sheet of spider silk. He folded it in half and held it against his body to compare the size.
It looked about right.
He pulled a charred stick from the fire and waited until the ember died out. Then he used the charcoal at its tip to draw.
Although he didn't know much about clothing structure or tailoring, he figured he could at least manage the simplest kind of short-sleeved shirt.
