Even as the gorilla mutant clawed viciously at his eyes, Eisen refused to loosen his grip. He kept his jaws locked on the vulture's wingtip, swinging the massive bird wildly back and forth through the air. He even opened his mouth again, trying to fling the half-dazed bird straight into his gaping maw.
For the vulture, this was a devastating blow.
A shrill, agonized screech tore from the giant raptor's throat. It wanted to move—but didn't dare.
It was the last woman still clinging to the vulture's back, the only one not yet shaken loose, who sensed the danger and shouted sharply,
"Fuck this—forget it! Staying alive comes first! Do you want to get eaten or what?!"
The vulture mutant snapped back to his senses. Grinding his beak in fury and desperation, he made up his mind and beat his powerful, broad wings with all his strength, forcing a sudden burst of momentum—
Crack!
Using that force, he tore off his own wingtip.
