Back in the bunker, Albert had already felt that something about that woman was off. She didn't seem like the kind of person who would willingly settle for being Jameson's lover, and there appeared to be some kind of irreconcilable conflict between the two of them.
Hayes lowered his voice. "I heard from others in the team that she used to have an older sister. At the very beginning, it was actually her sister who was Jameson's lover. But for some reason, the sister disappeared. After that, this woman took her place—"
As Hayes spoke, Albert lifted his head and quickly scanned their surroundings.
He didn't see the woman anywhere. "She's not here."
"She probably won't be anymore." Hayes suddenly coughed several times as he tried to push himself up from the ground.
"Didn't you notice? There are far fewer people in the ant nest than there were at the start. And among the group that stayed with Jameson, that woman—and several of the injured with broken bones—none of them are here."
