Chapter 35 - An enemy of an enemy

???'s POV (The Head of All Alphas)

Aiden Frost slept like a wounded dog.

Pathetic.

The man watched him from the balcony above the underground chamber, his expression unreadable as his fingers lazily traced the rim of a glass filled with dark liquor.

Below, Aiden lay on a bed, breathing unevenly, still shaking from the trauma.

The man smiled.

Weak.

But weakness could be sharpened.

It could be molded into desperation.

And desperation…

was the most obedient leash.

He sipped his drink slowly, eyes drifting toward the large screen on the wall.

It displayed multiple live camera feeds.

One showed Diamant Reed's mansion.

Another showed Evan Leigh's office.

Another showed Reed Tower.

And another…

showed Noah Lane.

The omega was asleep, curled against Diamant's pillow, unaware of how many eyes were on him.

The man's smile deepened.

So fragile.

So beloved.

So easy to break.

He set the glass down and leaned forward slightly.

"You should have stayed in your lane, Diamant Reed," he murmured.

His voice was calm, but the air around him felt colder.

Dominant alphas were supposed to kneel to the system.

They were supposed to lead under rules.

But Diamant Reed had always been different.

Too proud.

Too independent.

Too fearless.

He had built an empire without permission.

And Evan Leigh…

Evan Leigh had built one too.

Branches across the world.

Influence that spread like a disease.

They were becoming too powerful.

Too untouchable.

Too admired.

And admiration was dangerous.

Admiration created loyalty.

And loyalty…

created rebellion.

The man's eyes narrowed slightly.

He had ruled for decades from the shadows, shaping the hierarchy, deciding which alphas rose and which were crushed.

He was not just an alpha.

He was the alpha.

The one the others never saw.

The one they never dared speak of openly.

The one who decided the world's balance.

And now…

Diamant Reed had tipped it.

So the man had watched.

He had waited.

And when Aiden Frost made his foolish move, the man realized something beautiful.

Aiden was reckless enough to do what no one else would.

He had touched Noah.

He had erased a Dominant mark.

He had caused a miscarriage.

He had carved a wound deep enough to make Diamant Reed bleed emotionally.

Aiden Frost was a mistake.

But mistakes were useful.

The man leaned back, crossing his legs.

"An enemy of an enemy…" he murmured.

"…is a friend."

His smile sharpened.

Not because he liked Aiden.

He didn't.

Aiden was weak, emotional, sloppy.

But Aiden had something powerful.

Obsession.

Obsession was a weapon.

Aiden didn't need logic.

He didn't need strategy.

He only needed a target.

And the man would give him one.

Diamant Reed.

Evan Leigh.

Their companies.

Their reputations.

Their lovers.

Their stability.

Their pride.

He glanced at the screen again, watching Noah shift in his sleep.

The omega's lips parted slightly as if murmuring Diamant's name.

The man's eyes gleamed.

"Yes," he whispered.

"That's it."

"Love him."

"Trust him."

"Make him your whole world."

He lifted his glass again.

Because the more Diamant Reed loved…

the more he could lose.

The man sipped his drink.

Then he smiled into the shadows.

"And when the time comes…"

His voice dropped into something darker.

"…I will take everything."

The screen flickered slightly.

Aiden stirred below, groaning softly in his sleep.

The man looked down at him like he was dirt.

"Wake up soon, Aiden Frost," he murmured.

"You're going to become my knife."

And far away, in a mansion filled with warmth and fragile peace…

Diamant Reed had no idea that the real enemy had finally stepped onto the board.

Not a rival CEO.

Not a jealous alpha.

Not even a scientist.

But the one who called himself what no man should ever dare to call himself:

The Head of All Alphas.
