Eden gathered her generals and Sylvie to go visit her dragon that she unlocked long ago. Her dragon was located in the mountains behind her living quarters. When they arrived the attendant that had been taking care of its food supply was rushing out because it left the bell on the cow. Eden stopped the man and asked what the issue was, that's how she learned that the dragon had been restless. It craved to go out into the battlefield and pillage other cities. The bell on the cow made it easy to find and eat it. That's why the dragon was annoyed, it wanted to taunt the thing and search for it.
They walked into the dragon's layer and looked around. Eden just stood in the center and said, "get your fucken pouty ass out here. I didn't forget you. I just wanted to get stronger before I took you out for a stroll." There was an echoing sound of a loud grunt. Then you could hear the flapping wings from all different types of directions. From the top of the cave you saw the red dragon emerge with its claws open as if about to grab its prey. Eden stood there waiting for it to get closer to her. Then took off like a bullet and punched the beast on the belly. The fist looked like it was going to be sucked in by the beast's stomach. Eden made a groaning sound as she said, "The young lion and the dragon shall trample under feet!" Then a surge of energy grew inside Eden and pushed the dragon's trajectory in the opposite direction. The dragon hit a few pillars until it landed on the floor. Arthur and the rest of the generals' jaws dropped. They had anticipated the dragon to have a fit and Erza to intervene, but didn't expect this turn of events. Sylvie smirks sideways as she powered down. "What did I just witness," she said to herself.
The dragon was laying on the ground still inhaling and exhaling a little faster. Then the noise it was making was that of laughter. The dragon started laughing so hard that its echoes began to shake the layer and the ceiling was dropping pieces of rock. Slowly getting up it paused to catch its air and walked closer to Eden until it came face to face with her. Eden just stood there waiting for it to stop laughing so that she could address him again.
The dragon finally stopped laughing and said, "you don't disappoint me at all." It gave a grin that only a mother could love. Eden then responded, "I hope I feel the same way about you." The dragon chuckled a little more. He looked up at the rest that were behind her and asked, "did you bring me an offering?" Eden laughed, "No, one of them will be your rider." The dragon snorted, "I doubt that they can top you, now that you made quite an impression." Eden said with a grin, "I believe you're mistaken, you will have to impress one of them. You see, they are just as powerful, or maybe even more." The dragon wiped his head and chuckled, "my, you certainly are a feisty one. The dragon stepped closer to the light to show his splendor.
The head was massive with scales that lined up as if it had a crown. Its eyes looked as if their gaze could pierce your soul with how intense it was. The iris was like flowing gold in hot lava. Its four legs were supported by sharp claws and soles. The tail had layers upon layers of scales making it the perfect weapon to break through buildings, armor and flesh. One swipe of it would grind the victim as it pulled back. The wings were majestic with tones of red, orange and gold. The dragon's body was robust and the frame sturdy.
Eden looked at the dragon and wondered as she said, "is this his full size. Was it a large dragon or small dragon? I don't know what else to compare it to". The dragon scoffed at Eden who didn't realize she was thinking out loud. She looked at him awkwardly and said, "I apologize, you're the first dragon I see up close. What is your name by the way?" The dragon reluctantly answered, "Ikarus." Eden nodded with approval of the name and asked, "how did you know your name?" The dragon turned away and walked to a nearby altar where he laid down.
"It was the only name I could remember being called in my slumber. I woke up in this place unable to leave until some voice gave me instructions of some contract I had. It seemed foolish to me at first, but when I tried to leave, there was a force field preventing me from exiting my lair." Ikarus placed his head over his front feet and said, "was left here feeling bored until the same voice said 'congratulations! Your monarch Great Eden has unlocked you, you are now able to join her in battle.' But no one came, just the same attendant that dropped off cows."
Eden felt guilty for ignoring Ikarus for a long time. She had a feeling this dragon was younger than he appeared. From her previous readings, they were wise, irritable and sometimes reluctant to help. There was no time to dwell in the past now. Eden turned to leave and said, "after your meal, you will spar with everyone you see except me. I will be getting familiarized with your abilities so that we may go on a hunt after." Ikarus perked up a little, but pretended not to care.
Eden's next stop was the forge. As she entered she found Oscar in full armor wiggling his hips, then doing a circular motion. He went into lunges and then hops. Sylvie covered her face and rubbed her forehead from the tension that accumulated as soon as she noticed Oscar. She growled a little and said irritated, "What are you doing, goofy?" Eden had her mouth covered as she was trying to hide her mouth. She was close to laughing, but she cleared her throat. "Looks like hard work," she said as she tried not to laugh. Oscar jumped back a bit and placed his hands up. Oscar said quickly, "I was testing out this new armor. I think we should cut back on some parts to give us more freedom to move, but Gunther insisted it was fine the way it was. We decided to test it." Then Gunther walked in with full body armor swinging his hips wide with each step. He said, "I see what you mean, layer smaller pieces to allow more movement in the joints."
Eden found the whole scene hilarious, but was trying not to laugh. However, the same couldn't be said with General Gabriel who finally let out a laugh. He apologized quickly and tried to stop. Eden let out a chuckle and then said, "Okay, what's the status on the new orders?" Gunter took off the helmet and went to his desk to grab a list. Here is the inventory list of the new armor and its buffs. He then grabbed a sword from the pile with ruby colored stones in the middle of the blade. Gunther explained, "These are power up swords, it allows you to use fire magic and increase your speed. It's durable until the stone reaches maximum capacity of mana." Eden awed at its design and asked, "this is what you made with the new material?" Gunther nodded and took a shield that he stabbed the floor with. "These shields, once activated, absorb the blow of an opponent and triple it back to them," said Gunther as he tossed a small piece of rock at it. The rock was repelled at a stronger force that it chipped the wall when it hit it. Eden's eyes sparkled and said, "Wow, how did you come up with all these new ideas?" Then Oscar rubbed his nose with index finger and puffed his chest out as he smirked. Sylvie rolled her eyes.
Gunther lowered his head in a small bow as he said, "Oscar came up with the ideas and forged the magical items. The rest of us welded and assorted everything." Eden looked around and asked, "where is everyone actually?" Oscar replied, "we sent them to take a break. We just finished the first set of armor dedicated to your generals." Eden liked the idea that they were resting. "Then that means our generals can wear their new sets to our hunt later on," said Eden. Gunther and Oscar gave a wide smile of triumph. Eden then said, "you both have done a great job. I order both of you to take a break. It's not a request." She walked away before they retorted. She had a feeling that if she only suggested they should take a break, they would not do it unless they were forced. Arthur caught up to Eden and asked, "where are we going next?" Eden answered, to the dining hall and then to the training grounds. Make sure you don't eat too much. Ikarus will not like it if you leave your lunch on his scales."
