Chapter 4 - The Method to Counter the Flying Thunder God

"Tell me, do you truly wish to awaken your Sharingan?"

Fugaku Uchiha's deep eyes locked onto Obito's, his tone calm yet filled with power.

"Yes! I want to awaken my eyes and become stronger, strong enough to protect everyone!"

"I see."

Fugaku nodded slightly, then said, "Normally, most of our Uchiha clan members awaken their eyes around your age. When your strength reaches a certain level, sometimes it happens naturally. It depends on your talent and emotions. I cannot say exactly when yours will awaken."

He paused, then a faint smile appeared on his lips. "However, there is one faster way. Would you like to try it?"

At that moment, Fugaku's eyes shifted. The tomoe within began to swirl, glowing like molten embers in the dark.

Obito's heart leapt with excitement. "Yes! I want to try it!"

"Good. Then let us begin."

Fugaku handed little Itachi to Mikoto, who watched silently with a hint of unease in her eyes.

Obito stood upright, eyes burning with anticipation. For him, being personally guided by the clan head was beyond imagination. He had always thought Fugaku was stern and untouchable, yet here he was, offering to teach him directly.

"Idiot, move!"

A sharp voice sliced through the air.

Kakashi, standing beside Obito, suddenly shouted and shoved him aside with all his strength.

Obito stumbled and fell hard onto the ground. As he looked up, pain flashing across his face, he froze completely.

Because right where he had been standing, Fugaku's lightning-charged hand had pierced through Kakashi's chest.

The crackling of thunder filled the air, followed by the heavy thud of a body collapsing.

Kakashi's silver hair was still, his head drooped forward, and his half-lidded eyes had lost their light.

He was dead.

Obito's mind went blank. Why? What was happening? Just moments ago, everything had been fine. Why had the clan head suddenly attacked?

Then the realization hit him like a blade. That strike was meant for him. It was supposed to be his chest that had been pierced.

Kakashi had taken the blow for him.

"Don't just stand there! Run!"

Minato Namikaze's furious shout broke through the chaos as he saw Fugaku pull his arm out of Kakashi's chest, crimson blood dripping from his fingertips.

Minato's mind raced. There was no time to think. "Rin, Obito, get out of here now!"

Rin, pale and trembling, grabbed Obito's hand and dragged him away, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Meanwhile, Minato faced Fugaku head-on. His expression hardened as he reached into his pouch, pulling out several specially-marked kunai. He threw them in every direction, the metal flashing through the air.

A moment later, his figure vanished, blinking from one marked point to another in blinding bursts of motion.

"The Flying Thunder God, is it…" Fugaku murmured. His voice was calm, almost curious. "A remarkable space-time ninjutsu indeed. But tell me, Minato… don't you know?"

He smirked coldly. "You should never play with kunai in front of an Uchiha."

In an instant, Fugaku drew his own kunai and threw them with deadly precision. The blades collided midair with Minato's special ones, deflecting them slightly. Then, one by one, every marked kunai was struck down, pinned firmly into the ground.

"Got you!" Minato thought, his instincts flaring.

The moment the kunai hit the ground, he teleported beside Fugaku, appearing at his flank in a flash of light. Wind chakra surged through his blade, forming a short, glowing sword aimed directly at Fugaku's ribs.

A perfect strike, clean and lethal.

But Fugaku didn't move. He didn't even blink.

He simply smiled.

That expression made Minato's heart sink.

"No… this isn't right!"

He looked down and froze. The ground beneath him shimmered faintly, each pinned kunai wrapped in glowing paper tags.

They weren't ordinary marks. They were explosives.

A chorus of crackling and hissing filled the air.

And then came the roar.

BOOM!

Explosions tore through the streets, flames and shockwaves blasting through walls, sending debris flying in every direction. The sound was deafening.

Minato emerged from the smoke, battered and bleeding, his legs covered in burns and blood. His footing faltered; his body swayed. His speed, his greatest weapon, was gone.

Before he could even catch his breath, a shadow burst through the smoke behind him. Fugaku's chakra surged through his legs as he spun and drove a kick into Minato's ribs, sending him crashing through the air.

Minato landed hard, tumbling across the ground, finally sliding to a stop in front of his students.

"Sensei!" Obito and Rin screamed together.

Minato tried to raise his hand to tell them to run, but blood filled his mouth. He coughed violently, struggling to breathe.

Fugaku emerged from the dust, lightning dancing along his arm, eyes burning with power.

"Fire Style, Great Fireball Jutsu!"

He weaved hand signs faster than the eye could follow, and a massive sphere of fire burst forth, roaring down the street toward Minato and his team.

Minato gritted his teeth. His Flying Thunder God technique was sealed off. His legs were damaged. His students were within the blast radius.

There was no escape.

He had to fight fire with fire.

Drawing upon every ounce of remaining strength, Minato bit his finger, smeared blood along his hand, and slammed his palm to the ground.

A burst of smoke erupted.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

A giant toad appeared, towering over them. Minato gathered chakra in his hand and pressed it against the toad's back.

"Water Style, Iron Water Cannon!"

A torrent of compressed water shot forward, slamming into Fugaku's fireball. The two forces collided with explosive power, steam filling the air. The water overpowered the flames and tore through the ground, ripping apart a section of the street.

Fugaku stepped through the mist unscathed, his eyes glowing red. "Not bad, Minato, you created quite the distraction. But…"

His voice came from behind.

Minato turned in shock, realizing too late that Fugaku had already repositioned. The Uchiha's right arm crackled with lightning, forming a long spear of raw chakra.

"Chidori Sharp Spear!"

The weapon pierced both Minato and his summoned toad in one strike, electricity bursting outward.

"When… did you move…" Minato gasped, blood running down his chin.

"When you saw me smile," Fugaku said coldly.

He twisted his wrist. The lightning exploded in a flash of blue light, and Minato's body split apart in two.

The world went silent.

Ps:

The Flying Thunder God works through spatial coordinates, using the markings on kunai as teleportation anchors. If every mark becomes a trap or a bomb, those coordinates turn into a minefield. The user will hesitate, unable to move freely without risking instant death.

That's my theoretical method to counter the Flying Thunder God. It would require an Uchiha's precision with the Sharingan and deadly throwing skill, but it's possible.

If anyone has other ideas or improvements, feel free to discuss and share your own strategies.
