Sensing those familiar Uchiha eyes on him, Garp shifted his attention away from Orochimaru and the others, turning his gaze toward the Uchiha clan.
His look was neither sharp nor gentle, just a casual sweep.
But that single glance made every Uchiha caught in it feel as if a blade had scraped across their skin.
A chill flooded them instantly, stabbing straight into their hearts. None of them dared meet Garp's eyes, all they could do was bow their heads and avoid that oppressive gaze.
Among them, the ones who felt it the strongest were Fugaku and Shisui.
Though both had awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, Garp's eyes lingered on the two of them just a little longer.
No killing intent, no aura, nothing unleashed.
Just a glance.
Yet it was enough to make their bodies tense as if pressed under a mountain.
"So, this is the pressure our elders talked about… No wonder those two Mangekyo users from the old era spent their entire lives unable to lift their heads before him."
Locking eyes with Garp, Fugaku felt as though a giant hand squeezed his heart.
The suffocating, trembling sensation forced his Sharingan to activate on its own.
'So, this is what our predecessors felt back then?'
Shisui's Sharingan trembled with unease.
At that moment, he finally understood what Madara and Izuna, their great shinobis of the past era, had experienced.
They hadn't even fought yet. Not a trace of aura was released.
Just a moment of eye contact and even breathing felt difficult.
"This generation of Uchiha… not bad."
Seeing both Fugaku and Shisui activate their Sharingan in unison, Garp let a faint smile touch his lips and spoke in a mild, casual tone.
"Not bad?"
Fugaku took it relatively well. Older, more mature, his mind steadier, though anger stirred within him at Garp's comment, it only showed as his expression cooling.
"Even if you are a legend from the past, isn't this a bit too arrogant? Saying whether the Uchiha are 'good or not', it's far too early to judge that now."
But Shisui's reaction was far more intense.
Even though he was usually very calm and level headed but currently as he had just awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan a few days ago.
His temperament, attitude had shifted vastly, and his emotions were more volatile than ever.
As this was the case for every Uchiha awakening their Sharingan be it a normal one or a Mangekyo, all of them had to go throw intense emotions to awaken these powers, some even willing to kill their loved ones to feel that hatred.
The young Shisui unlike his mature self in anime, after being in battlefield for so long and seeing all his close friends die one after other had wakened his Mangekyo.
So, at this moment he was emotionally unstable compared to his regular self, like always wanting more battles, killing enemies, especially using his new Mangekyo abilities.
On top of that, the long-standing grudge between the Uchiha and the Iron Fist had also changed dynamics about how the younger generations of Uchiha viewed Garp.
Surely most respected him for his powers but the hatred for him was extremely deep as he brought great destruction to Uchiha clan during old era, even killing many legends of the clan.
Also the fact the each one of his powers were direct counter to Sharingan didn't help much in creating that image.
… And the frustration of having waited here so long, Garp's remark instantly pushed him over the edge.
His right hand tightly gripped the hilt of the sword on his back.
"Oh? And when would it not be too early for me to judge?"
Instead of getting angry, Garp even stopped Orochimaru, who had tensed up and was about to scold Shisui.
"At least after giving me some guidance before drawing a conclusion, right?"
Shisui's eyes unleashed a surge of tremendous power.
Though it was just the three tomoe, a Mangekyo user's base power far surpassed that of ordinary clan members.
Unless facing something on the level of a major war, a Mangekyo user using only three tomoe could still overwhelmingly crush any standard three tomoe opponent.
"I have realized something… No matter how the times change, the Uchiha never do. It was the same when Tajima was clan head.
The same when Madara Uchiha was clan head.
And now this Uchiha… whatever his name is… the same as well.
No matter who they are, no matter the era, every Uchiha I meet always bares their fangs at me."
Garp chuckled and shook his head.
"So, I can take this as you accepting my request?"
Shisui's eyes grew colder, their crimson hue deepening.
"Fine. Since you're so insistent."
Garp nodded lightly, then raised two fingers.
"What do you mean by that?"
Seeing the gesture, Shisui's eyes flared with roaring fury.
"Even if you're asking me for guidance, I'm already in my nineties. You want me to fight a kid, roll up my sleeves, and use both hands?
Uchiha brat, even if you don't feel ashamed, I still have some dignity left."
Garp sighed helplessly.
"Don't take it so hard. Out of respect for you awakening your Mangekyo at such a young age, I even added an extra finger.
Otherwise, just a single finger would've been enough."
The moment he said that, not only did Shisui's rage explode, even the Uchiha who moments ago didn't dare meet Garp's gaze were furious.
"Well then, if this is what you want, I won't disappoint you."
Shisui inhaled deeply.
The anger in his eyes vanished, replaced by a chilling killing intent that flashed for just an instant.
"And one more thing. I am not some 'Uchiha brat.' My name… is Uchiha Shisui."
His voice was colder than a blade's edge.
Before the last word even faded, the sword on his back was drawn with a sharp clang, a streak of cold steel flashing through the mist.
In the instant that blade's light appeared, Shisui had already vanished.
In that moment, he seemed to merge completely with his sword, becoming a single stroke of killing light aimed straight at Garp's chest.
"Uchiha Style Sword Technique."

[P.S: I know Shisui is usually humble and calm but right now he is a very young ninja unlike the one which we see in the anime, and this is his first shinobi war in which he has seen his friends, mentors get killed many times due to which he has awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan and as a result his mental state is cooked.
