Kurai and company made it to the next floor. She stood silently and looked around, finding themselves in a blue blank room the size of a small house. Nothing was there, only the four warriors standing still.
"Another empty room? Is that Urieru girl gonna show up again?"
"I don't sense her anywhere. It's something else entirely. Some kind of strange puzzle or something of the sort again."
"A puzzle? But it's empty."
"Look. Over there."
Kurai pointed to the left wall, a small switch had appeared on it.
"We can find out the key to getting to the next floor..or at least try to."
"Oh, so we just flip it."
In only a second Matsumi had appeared next to it, flipping it on and off.
Nothing had happened. The group stared and watched Matsumi as he flicked the switch a bit confused.
"It didn't do anything…now what? It was just a boring old switch!"
"Maybe try again…it could be broken."
"Ok…tell me if you see anything."
He flipped it again.
"Nothing?"
Nothing happened again. Barghest looked at Matsumi.
"Hey! Are you playing around with that thing? What the hell is your problem?"
"I'm doing what you said, genius! Look I'm still turning it on and off!"
Around the fifth or sixth time the room went completely pitch black, the darkness started to make noise. The whispers carried over across the heads of each of the crew. It was Impossible to see.
"What the-?! The lights broke!"
There was a small flame that appeared a little bit away from Matsumi. It flashed as a man slowly revealed his face from the shadows, a black slime trailing off of his skin and dropping to the floor. He looked towards Matsumi smiling as his right eye flashed red.
"Ah I see. I wondered why the ritual didn't work. You took the Princess of Hope away from us."
"Huh? Who are you? You the other trial?"
Kurati shook his head, some of the slime splashing on Matsumi's face.
"I am your juxtaposition, youre antithesis. You will be the death of me."
The light flashed as Matsumi was back in the blue room. A small door leading to the next floor at in front of him. However, none of his teammates were around. He was the only man left in the room.
"Watch it you-!"
He wiped the slime off of his face, rubbing his eyes.
"Gross!"
When he opened his eyes again, he saw the door and naturally got excited.
"That was fast! Hey guys, we can go now!"
Turning around to face the group, he found no one.
"Wha-? Where'd everyone go? Kurai! Kibō! Barghest!"
He called out to each of them as he looked around the blue room from where he stood.
Nobody was in the room. Matsumi's calls were met with no answer. Not even a sound came from the room besides Matsumi's.
He scratched his head, no clue what had happened since the lights went out. Then he remembered what they had done before.
"Well…Barghest said to keep moving last time this happened! Maybe they're in another floor like Kurai was! Yeah, that must be it."
With confidence in his deduction he swung the door open to move on from this floor.
