On a relatively small bench, was Matsumi. He had decided to give the book a read and maybe even study some magic from it…but that was a while ago. Right now, Matsumi was sleeping on the bench with his hands behind his head to act as a cushion. The grimoire stayed on his face, covering him from any disturbances. Truthfully, Matsumi was never going to actually study or practice. He wanted to learn magic, sure. But he'd never willingly put the work into it, it was a pain to read on magic, and even more of a pain to think of a unique spell like Nomuro suggested. So, for the time being he was resting on said bench.
"Hey. What gives?"
A man in blue hair approached matsumi on the bench, interrupting his thought for a moment.
"I was sitting on that bench. I went to go take a piss. Get up from my seat bud." *l
Saikyō held his hands in his pockets, casually telling Matsumi to get out of here. He didn't really care if Matsumi was another person. He thought that Matsumi should move simply because he should get out of his way, as if he was the most important person alive. He didn't have a care for the world and its rules or regulations, no lingo or mannerisms.
The nearby voice woke him up, he wasn't in deep sleep just yet. He raised the grimoire slightly to look at him.
"Whatever dude."
He lowered it again, paying no mind to him. It seems trying to actually learn by himself took a lot of energy somehow.
"Hey. You deaf or something? Fuck off I need my seat back."
He got in Matsumi's face, grabbing the grimoire from his hands.
"What kind of spells are you casting?"
From his position, Matsumi moved swiftly. Sitting upwards and swiping the grimoire back to his own hands right as the pages left his face.
"Don't touch my things."
In an annoyed tone.
"I can touch whatever I want. What are you going to do about it? That garbage you have in your hands can be thrown around if I want."
He snatched it once more from his hands.
"Get up man. I was having a nap."
"…Ok, ok. If you give it back, I'll get up."
Saikyō sighed and gave the book back.
"Just..give me directions and i'll leave you alone. What about that?"
"Thanks."
He took it and held it close to his body.
"…Yeah, I'm not getting up. But I can tell you where to go if you want."
"Point me to the school. I need to register. I'm a late applicant or whatever..just got back from vacation…where do I go?"
"You want to go there? It's not that far, just keep going down the street. Past all the shops, take two lefts and it'll be at your right."
"Thank you. Your help is going to a great cause or whatever."
Saikyō headed out, leaving Matsumi to his Grimoire once more.
"Hey. There you are. I've been looking all over for you."
Vermelha approached Matsumi soon after.
"Who were you talking to just now? Made a new friend or something?"
Matsumi glared at the man's back as he left.
"No…It feels weird to be around that guy…I don't like him."
He looked for a little more before turning to Vermelha.
"Weird? Hey."
She snapped her fingers in front of him to fully get his attention.
"Who was that just now? Are you okay Matsumi?"
He rubbed his chest a little, it really did feel weird. If Vermelha could sense his mana, it wasn't as stable as before, something had upset it.
"I feel off, I don't know who that was."
"Well..What did you talk about?…I've never really seen you talk like this before..Did he attack you?"
She rubbed the back of her hair trying to come to an understanding about the situation. She noticed his mana signature change and she frowned. unsure about what was going on with him.
"No, he asked where the school was…I sent him the wrong way. I've never been good with directions anyways."
"….The energy here feels familiar. You probably couldn't see or feel it directly…but he was exerting a good amount of mana force before he left just now…I feel remnants of the spirit world here…This isn't good, especially with the rumors circulating. You're sure he didn't do anything to you?"
"I don't know! He just grabbed my grimoire and left! I still have it."
He showed it to Vermelha.
Vermelha held her hands out for the book, looking on in discomfort. She didn't like that the man immediately needed directions to the school, and the strange nature of the situation.
"Ugh, I hate this."
It was only after a little that Matsumi's mana started to settle back.
"He said he wanted to register or something. I don't know, I don't want to see him again."
"…I have a feeling your wishes won't come true unfortunately. Seems like they're going to be around for something, even if it's not permanent."
"Why were you looking for me anyway? What happened?"
"A student went missing today during the lunch hour. They're currently investigating the school and let everybody out early back to their dorms or homes so they could do a head count..I came looking for you because I was worried you could've potentially been taken especially after your recent stunt…I knew I should've kept an eye on you."
"Yeah, I didn't mean to get caught, I keep telling everyone that! I've been out here the whole time though."
"I see..Well as long as you're alright then I guess it doesn't matter. Something very strange is going on though."
"Well, what do you wanna do now?"
"…I need to track this energy and let someone know before we leave for Heldor's Tower. You're free to tag along…but don't expect anything 'fun' necessarily. Your feeling about this doesn't give me a good feeling either."
He stood up from the bench.
"I'll tag along, being here is giving me the creeps."
"Well..maybe we can get ice cream or something during the investigation. It's nothing heavily serious. I just need to make sure theres nothing to worry about.."
"Hey, that sounds pretty good!"
The heavy atmosphere being alleviated a little.
"Alright. I've got to make my way into the second center city..So just follow me and tell me if you see anything suspicious. That can be your job."
"I can do that, for sure. I'll let you know."
