This will not end like this!"
High above, Odin Shin and Anguished flew through the air.
Odin Shin held Anguished firmly, his face locked in deep, heavy contemplation. How was Mingyin able to predict a wave of meteorite attacks without showing even a hint of panic?
Was he not supposed to be just above the mortal state?
In truth, Mingyin's cultivation level had completely bypassed the mortal realm. He had become a Transgressor.
Transgressors were rare beings capable of breaking past the mortal state entirely. The power gap between a mortal and a Transgressor was terrifying—like comparing the entire ocean to a tiny speck of liquid.
A single immortal standing above the mortal state could unleash an absolute slaughter upon the lower world, leaving nothing behind but a sea of blood.
The cultivation heavens were strictly ordered. There were seven ranks in the first heaven, six in the second, five in the third, four in the fourth, three in the fifth, and two ranks in the sixth heaven.
The seventh and eighth heavens held fourteen ranks combined. Furthermore, each rank within the seventh and eighth heavens was divided into five distinct stages. With every single stage achieved, the difficulty multiplied tenfold, then threefold, then four hundred times harder!
By those standards, Mingyin was below average. He had only just awakened his powers and did not yet understand the abilities he had attained. It was not the standard sovereign path, but a strange power granted by a bizarre entity.
He was the weakest Transgressor of all.
Yet, he was currently facing the highest pinnacle beings of the eighth and ninth heavens—entities so bizarre and powerful they could easily suppress eight other heavenly beings at once.
Compared to such a powerhouse, a low-level Transgressor was like a massive galaxy contrasted against a speck of dust. And Mingyin was the smallest speck of dust imaginable.
Odin Shin sighed, turning his gaze toward Anguished. His eyes burned with a wild, immovable fury. That look made it clear he wanted to beat someone to a pulp—and yet, the very person who deserved that beating would have to be spared."
You've got a lot of explaining to do!""
...…
Where am I?"Po Ming woke up with a fearful expression, instantly looking down.
A massive flower bloomed beneath him, sprawling out like a mountain terrain, its leaves shining with a brilliant light.
When Mingyin turned around, he found himself looking directly at his own future self."
You've got some serious explaining to do, please!"
Mingyin demanded. His future self looked down and flashed a sinister smile. "
Ah, haven't I already explained that both of us are the exact same person?""
No! Like, where did you even appear from? Where exactly did you build this entire place from? What is it made of?""Ah, Mingyin.
It's going to be a massive drag if you keep acting like this," his future self sighed. "Please think critically about your behavior.
Think about what you actually want to do.""I am thinking! But where did you come from?""Do you think I just spawned out of nowhere,
"Then from where?!""
Ah, to be honest... I am from the future, but this specific domain is my soul realm."
"Yeah, I get that. But wait—this is the open space of the mortal world," Mingyin countered. "
So how exactly is this your realm?""
Ahahaha! To be precise, this is only a half-realm of mine," the future self laughed. "It is profound and beautiful. However, another future version of me tore through space and returned here after hundreds of years, right after his power returned for three days. It seems he found an entrance here for no damn reason, which means I cannot truly control this place.
"Mingyin's eyes grew sharper, deepening with a scary intensity as he pondered the situation. Then, he spoke forward with tense anticipation
."So you don't fully control this realm? Your realm was torn away, and that's why you can't even fully control this half?"
"Yes, that is correct. Is it a bit too far-fetched for you to believe?"
"Yeah, I don't believe what's happening," Mingyin snapped.
"One future version of me warn me of danger, while another future version tells me of success... it feels way too far-fetched. It sounds like a childish fantasy
, you really are different this time around, huh?""
What the heck is that supposed to mean?""
Nothing..." Future Mingyin turned around, deliberately changing the topic.
"Tell me, do you believe that meeting you has significantly altered the entire timeline we messed up?
"What Future Mingyin said was entirely true. While Mingyin had been saved, the timeline itself was easily fifty percent destroyed.
It wasn't ruined physically, mentally, or spiritually, but rather in its fundamental cause and effect. The balance of good and bad went had been completely shattered.
With the advanced cultivation progression his future self had granted him, Mingyin was set to become a true Transgressor within the next six months.
Mingyin shook his head and looked up.
They were standing inside a vast, white hall filled with shifting, chaotic phenomena. A young man wearing peasant clothing sat there, bowing deeply before a large wooden throne.
Surrounding the throne was a massive, golden sculpture of a majestic night dragon.
Beside Mingyin stood Po Ming. He remained completely silent—not out of a lack of courage, but because he was utterly awestruck by his heroes.
Yet, the moment Po Ming saw his own past self, he became instantly confused. Who knew how he was supposed to feel right now?
Mingyin turned his head and looked at Po Ming. Having witnessed the future events unfold and seeing how his future self bestowed this power, the entire situation became much easier to read.
Suddenly, Mingyin looked down as loud cracking sounds echoed through the air.
Space itself was fracturing. This shocked Future Mingyin, Present Mingyin, and Po Ming alike.
Why on earth were these fractures appearing inside Po Ming's past?
Even Future Mingyin looked confused as the cracks spread like breaking glass, mirroring Mingyin's reflection.Mingyin spun around. "
What is happening?!"His future self hesitated, at a loss for words. Then, a look of serious concern washed over his face.
He rested his chin in his hand, his hair fluttering brutally and crudely in the sudden wind as he spoke.
"Even after all these years, he still managed to lay a trap."Po Ming froze, his eyes widening in panic.
"What trap?!" he blurted out.But his future self simply shouted over the noise, "Go now! We have no time! Let's escape!"
Instantly, Mingyin saw dozens of cracks rip through the air, followed by glowing, spectral strings."
Wait... has my other future self laid a trap here?"
Mingyin realized.Future Mingyin gave asharp nod. Suddenly he shook his head !
Mingyin gave him a fierce look
Po Ming stood frozen. His only idols were currently present in three separate forms: two versions from the future, and one from his own era.
BAM!
More fractures erupted. Both the older Po Ming and his younger peasant self were entirely enveloped by the spreading cracks. Suddenly, Mingyin's feet hit empty air. The mirror-like fractures shattered completely around him.
He plummeted downward, sinking fast alongside his future self and Po Ming
.BAM!
They fell deep into a bottomless pit of utter, pitch-black darkness. It was so blindingly dark that Mingyin could not even see his own limbs.
Worse still, there wasn't even a tiny dot of light or visual pattern to be seen. Because the human eye and brain remain active in total darkness,
Mingyin was naturally prone to seeing phosphenes. Now, the absolute void caused him to panic. He tried to yell out, but the terrifying weight of the dark pressed against him. Then,
a sudden voice cut through the void."
Mingyin? Where are you?"
Mingyin's face didn't show a hint of relief or happiness. Instead, a chill ran down his spine.
He felt absolutely no soul connection to the person he had just heard.
This is a fake me!
Mingyin chose not to answer. Ignoring the call, he turned and began to walk forward into the lonely, endless darkness of no return."
Future Mingyin... I found you Finnaly .
"Hearing those words echo from the dark, both Loki thorn and Mingyin froze dead in their tracks.
