Chapter 47: First Meeting with Goku
Watching the cloud-riding youth who'd suddenly appeared on the Lookout, Turles raised an eyebrow slightly.
Wearing an orange martial arts gi, that signature explosive crab-shaped hairstyle, plus that golden cloud for transportation—everything indicated the newcomer's identity. Precisely the one who'd sensed Turles's aura and ridden Flying Nimbus here—Son Goku.
Turles hadn't expected that before he could find Goku, Goku had found him first.
Seeing his childhood idol, Turles couldn't quite describe his current feelings. Not quite excitement. Not exactly happiness either. Perhaps only calm.
Meanwhile, Goku immediately noticed this person who looked remarkably similar to himself. Especially the tail wrapped around Turles's waist—he kept glancing there repeatedly. He'd once possessed such a tail too.
Both just quietly stared at each other. Neither spoke.
Seeing Turles and Goku face off, everyone else present couldn't help shifting their gazes between them. Looking at Turles, then at Goku, then back at Turles.
No helping it—they looked too similar, calling them twin brothers wouldn't be unreasonable.
Though looking carefully, aside from skin tone, the two differed greatly.
Turles's temperament leaned more mature. Moreover, he appeared somewhat villainous at first glance. But those profound eyes transformed that evil impression into a unique charisma.
Meanwhile, Goku resembled a child who'd never grown up. Though sharing Turles's height, his face still carried a childlike innocent smile, appearing approachable.
"Kakarot?"
At this moment, Raditz spoke—though his tone held some uncertainty.
Even with Turles's example, Raditz still couldn't quite believe his brother looked so similar to their father. What did that make him—adopted?
More awkwardly, right in front of him stood Turles who looked identical to Goku. Even more awkwardly, Raditz remembered his first meeting with Turles—that blurted "Father."
So Raditz felt somewhat uncertain about the person before him's identity, even though he already knew Kakarot's exiled planet was precisely this one underfoot.
"Kakarot? You mean me? I'm not Kakarot—I'm Son Goku. Pleased to meet you!"
Goku's attention was pulled from Turles by Raditz's voice. He immediately corrected Raditz.
"Son Goku? You're also not Kakarot?" Raditz scratched his hair, somewhat confused.
Raditz was bewildered by Goku, thinking he'd mistaken someone again. After all, Goku's tail had long been removed by Kami, never regrowing. Naturally he wouldn't connect Goku with Saiyans.
"Pfft!" Turles was amused by Raditz's performance, unable to help laughing aloud.
Seeing everyone's gazes turn toward him, Turles suppressed his laughter, slowly speaking: "You're Son Goku, right? Did you previously have a tail like ours?"
Speaking, Turles unwrapped his tail from his waist, swishing it behind him. The tail created whooshing sounds—clearly demonstrating considerable force.
"Hm? How did you know? Oh right, you all have tails too." Goku was first stunned, then clapped his hands, excitedly telling Turles: "Could you be my older brother?"
"Cough cough cough!" Both Turles and Raditz were choked by Goku's statement.
Turles was truly defeated by this family. Raditz called him father upon meeting. Goku called him brother upon meeting. Truly a family indeed.
Turles glanced at Raditz, giving him a look.
Raditz understood Turles's meaningful gaze. He showed Turles an embarrassed smile, then pulled Goku aside to explain.
Due to Turles's coaching, this time Raditz didn't look down on his brother. Moreover, because of Turles's Saiyan revival plan, Raditz spoke nothing but praise about Turles to Goku.
Meanwhile, Raditz learned from Goku why he didn't know his Kakarot name.
In Saiyans' previous training system, Saiyans exiled to remote planets had memories implanted during infancy. These memories included basic combat experience, their own names, and planetary invasion missions.
Goku was both fortunate and unfortunate.
Fortunately, upon landing on Earth, Goku had been found by his late adoptive grandfather Gohan, who'd brought him home to raise.
Unfortunately, Gohan—a single man—lacked child-rearing experience. So during a mountain climb, Goku had fallen from Gohan's basket, hitting his head and directly losing his Saiyan memories.
Learning about Goku's childhood experiences, Raditz's face showed compassion as he patted Goku's hair, consoling: "Kakarot, you've suffered. Don't worry—from now on, big brother's got you covered. Just follow me—I guarantee good food and drinks!"
Watching Raditz play the good brother role, Turles's mouth couldn't help twitching. If he didn't know Raditz's true nature, even Turles might have believed him. Never expected this serious-looking guy possessed such acting ability.
Moreover—you, Raditz, want to protect Goku? You probably don't realize what kind of cheat-level existence your brother before you truly is.
Goku naturally wouldn't understand Raditz's background like Turles did. Having lost his grandfather young, he was moved by Raditz's sudden brotherly affection.
Though sometimes naive, Goku wasn't unintelligent. On the contrary, maintaining his pure heart made him extremely sensitive to others' good and evil intentions. So he knew Raditz wasn't deceiving him.
However, since acknowledging this older brother, challenging him required no politeness. So the next second, Goku issued a battle invitation to Raditz.
Goku had been attracted by Turles's aura. But currently, Turles had perfectly hidden his ki signature. So Raditz—unable to perfectly conceal his aura—became Goku's target.
Raditz's just-displayed relieved expression froze directly on his face. He looked at this rebellious brother incredulously, suddenly having the impulse to disown him. Wondered if regretting now was too late.
After a long while, Raditz recovered. He decided—he'd properly discipline this rascal, letting him recognize his brother's capabilities.
"Alright!" Raditz's face showed a smile, showing no signs of wanting to get "rough."
Seeing Raditz agree, Goku grew more excited, immediately running to the Lookout plaza center, assuming a classic combat stance.
Raditz wasn't polite either. Rubbing his wrists while walking toward Goku's opposite side.
Passing Turles, who'd been watching the show, Turles suddenly spoke: "Raditz, you won't just bully Kakarot using superior battle power, right? How about maintaining your lowest power level?"
Hearing this, Raditz felt somewhat surprised, looking at Turles uncomprehendingly. Seeing Turles offer no explanation, he still confidently agreed—though internally somewhat dismissive.
After all, his current 8,000 battle power—even suppressed to minimum—still had 500. He didn't believe Goku's current mere 300 battle power could defeat him.
But watching the battle-ready Kakarot, Raditz somehow suddenly felt uneasy.
'Impossible! Absolutely impossible!'
Shaking his head vigorously, Raditz told himself internally.
