"So you wish to return to the old village?" Ganne asked, her voice monotonous. Urse turned to look at Ganne and Larann could see a hint of fear in his eyes.
"You better believe that I'm going back." The elder said. "All these stupid rules and requirements to live here. No one like this. You are…" Before Elder Erci continues, Sawa took her shoulder and that seemed make her pause.
Looking at Sawa and then behind her to Larann, she gave them a gentle smile.
"So you have finally taken a mate?" She said. Larann could see Ganne's mask slipping.
Was she that bothered that Sawa chose me? Larann wondered. But Ganne was blocked by the elder woman.
"She must be shy," Elder Erci chuckled. "Don't worry, I'm safe, dear." She peeked out from behind Sawa. Pretending to hesitate, Larann looked into some of the kindest eyes she had ever seen.
