The journey to the Grand Purple Tower shouldn't be that long but for some reasons, it took Xueyao almost an hour to reach there. Maybe because she paused on the road thrice every five seconds, thinking of returning or that she dragged her feet expecting a miraculous intervention of the Black Dragon suddenly changing his mind about going and catching up with her.
Then she wouldn't have to face everyone there all by herself.
She wondered what would happen once she reached the purple tower. If they would just allow her to fix the Golden White Lotus and return like that without wanting to hold her accountable for her many sins.
Her legs became much heavier to carry as she neared the entrance of the impressive structure that guarded and secured the Golden White Lotus. She mimicked the pacing of a snail when she saw the crowd already gathered there, waiting for her.
