~Becklan's POV~
"Beck…" he said softly. "Why is your face so red?"
He lifted a hand, hovering near my cheek without touching it. "There's a handprint on your face."
At those words, Leon's head snapped toward me with terrifying speed.
His eyes, which had been dull and distant, suddenly flared with a sharp, dangerous intensity. For a split second, I saw his body jolt, his muscles tensing as if he were about to tear himself away from Theo and lunge toward me to see for himself.
But Theo noticed the change and reacted at once. His arms locked tighter around Leon's neck as he leaned into him, clinging with dramatic urgency.
"No, Leon, please," he whined. "You just returned. Don't leave me again."
He lifted his face and pressed a lingering kiss to Leon's lips, as if daring him to pull away.
Leon hesitated, his gaze still locked on my burning cheek, but then his shoulders dropped. He stayed put, letting Theo cling to him.
