Dani's POV
I sat on my wheelchair, staring at the door with anticipation. It had been five years, five years
since I sat on this wheelchair, plus five years I became a mother, and a wife. Yes, I accepted
Raul's proposal, and became his partner.
At first, it all made sense. Everything was going so well. I trusted him, merging all our wealth
together so we could start a business, but Raul changed.
He no longer gave me the attention he usually did, and found any little moments to bully me
about my situation.
He often forgot I was this way because I tried to save his son.
I sat there for a long time before I finally heard him come into the house. From the looks of it, he
seemed drunk. He reeked of alcohol, and a female cologne, and he staggered all over the
place.
"Can you keep it down, Zack's asleep, and you don't want to wake him up. Do you?" I asked, but
he waved me aside, staggered towards the room.
I wheeled myself after him, wondering why he started acting this way. It was already late at
night. Yet, he was busy drinking himself to stupor.
"Why are you doing this to yourself?" I asked when I noticed how he collapsed on the bed, his
eyes towards the ceiling even when they were closed.
His phone was held tightly in his hands, and he seemed to already be in his dreams because he
was snoring.
I exhaled through my lips. This was what I had been going through since he changed his
attitude, but there was something different today. The cologne he was coated with.
I wheeled closer, and just as I opted to help him take off his shoes, his phone beeped.
Furrowing my brows, I stretched my hands, pulling the phone off his tight grip. Thankfully, I knew
the password, so I inputted it manually before checking what the message was.
The name of the sender was saved with a romantic name, and I felt my heart shatter, but I didn't
want to believe he was cheating. However, when I opened the message, I was stricken in
horror.
"No…" I gasped, and was trying to control myself as well to prevent him from waking up. Tears
glistened in my eyes as I scrolled down.
It was a nude picture of a woman. "I enjoyed you today, maybe we should have something like
this another time. What do you think?"
I felt my heart reach my ribcage, and I sniffed. However, I wanted this to be something we'll
discuss tomorrow when he is sober because I knew he was nothing more than drunk now.
The next morning, I prepared Zack for school. He had a frown on his face when I kissed him,
but I rubbed his hair gently, and smiled.
"Don't worry, okay?" I explained, and he crossed his arms over his chest. However, I didn't mind.
I knew he was upset about something as usual, so I let him be because he was already late for
school.
Once that was settled, I wheeled myself through the hallway, making my way to Raul's home
office.
But when I pushed open the door, forcing him to raise his gaze, he frowned. "What do you
want?!" His tone was harsh, but I didn't comment about it.
"I wanted us to talk about something important."
As soon as I said that, he exhaled heavily, slamming the pen in his hands on the desk, and then
he gazed at me fully.
"You're still remaining anonymous. Why don't you just do what's necessary? Why are you just
trying to provoke me?"
My lips parted, and I wanted to defend myself, but it was no use. It was better I complained
about what brought me here than for me to keep getting all these harsh words from him.
"You came home drunk last night as usual, but…" I trailed, making his eyes darkened.
"Are you going to talk, or you're going to keep–"
"Are you cheating on me?" I threw the big question even when it was obvious he was, I wanted
to hear it from his lips.
Wrinkles appeared on his face, especially his forehead, and he fisted his hands that were
resting on the table.
"Where did you get that?" he asked, and I sighed. I didn't know how to say it, but I guess it was
best if I could have said this in the best manner possible. I did know how else to make him
understand.
"I saw the message a lady sent you yesterday, and she was also thanking you for the night,
asking if you had fun. Why wouldn't I think that?"
Instead of remorse, I saw something else. I saw disgust, pain, hate, a lot of things that showed
he wasn't happy.
"Who gave you the right to check my things or go through my messages?"
"I am your wife!"
He shot back "A disabled one who can't do anything but to whine around. Go make me
breakfast, and leave my sight!" He expressed, and I felt a sting in my heart.
I wanted us to have a simple talk, but it seemed like that didn't happen.
I got busy with the day's activities, cleaning, making sure everything was in order, and the rest of
it, but my attention was immediately drawn to the sound of the car horn coming from outside.
I immediately left the way I was doing, and by the time I went there, I was stunned to see Zack
alighting from a car.
"Zack?" I called, worried because I warned him never to talk to strangers, but he never listened.
"Who did you–"
Just then, I saw who was there. It was a familiar face as well, Camilla. She used to be an old
friend until I fell into an ill fate.
"What are you doing here?" I fired at her, but she rolled her eyes.
"I'm here to take exactly what belongs to me." She responded, her eyes sizing me, "I'm going to
marry Raul, and there is nothing you can do about it, bitch!" she was saying things I didn't
understand, but walking into the house, leaving me there with thoughts of worry, and fear.
