Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Instant Transformation into a Master Chef

Despite such significant changes in his body, he didn't feel any discomfort at all. His strength, speed, and various other attributes had clearly increased several times over.

Yet his control was no different from before; in fact, his control over his muscles was even more precise, just like a game character who can fully control their body no matter how many attribute points are added.

Looking at the only usable skill, Advanced Swordsmanship, in the attribute panel, Liu Ming couldn't suppress his curiosity.

After taking out the sword of god, he wanted to demonstrate some swordplay.

But very quickly, he froze.

"Huh?"

Holding the sword of god, he had no idea how to wield it.

He shifted his gaze back to the light screen. The attributes that had increased earlier had completely reverted, and even the skill bar was gone. Where was the Advanced Swordsmanship?

Liu Ming blinked, then looked down at the sword of god in his hand.

He equipped it again, and his attributes changed accordingly.

"I've already equipped the weapon in the weapon slot, so why don't I have that weapon in my hand? The character in the light screen is clearly holding a weapon."

"Could it be that only the character's attributes are reflected back to me, and the items it equips don't appear on my physical body in reality?"

This had both advantages and disadvantages.

The advantage, of course, was that he wouldn't be so conspicuous. Otherwise, if he found some strange equipment and equipped it, and it also appeared on his body, how could he continue his laid-back life?

The disadvantage, however, was that some equipment was very powerful, like this sword of god. The fact that it could harm a giant dragon was enough to prove its sharpness. Having such a weapon could significantly increase his strength.

However, he didn't dwell on it too much. After all, he was used to not having a Golden Finger. Now that a Golden Finger had appeared, he was already very satisfied. Demanding too much would be ungraceful; contentment is happiness.

He found a wooden stick in the room and silently thought of Advanced Swordsmanship. Suddenly, a lot of swordsmanship knowledge appeared in his mind.

The stick moved with his hand, and his hand moved with his will. A series of elegant and skillful sword techniques were performed. Just like that, he became a master swordsman.

This was something he had never dared to imagine before; it felt a bit unreal.

Liu Ming took out the sword of god again. Sure enough, as he had guessed, he could no longer perform the brilliant swordsmanship from earlier.

If he relied on the memory acquired after equipping the sword of god, it wasn't impossible to transcribe it in written form.

But, if I only rely on these to learn swordsmanship, when will I ever achieve anything? Anyway, I still have a 25-slot inventory. If I really need to switch, I can do it slowly then.

It won't go missing if it's in my inventory.

Liu Ming didn't plan on being idle, so he rummaged through boxes and cabinets, finding a pile of things.

Equipped a shirt, Physical Defense +0.2.

Equipped a pair of pants, Physical Defense +0.2.

Equipped a pair of shoes, Physical Defense +0.1, Speed +0.3.

Equipped a necklace, Charm +0.1.

It even adds Charm.

But there's no such attribute on the attribute panel.

Is it a hidden attribute?

Next, he continued to change several items.

The added attributes were only minimal.

"I knew it wouldn't be that simple. Ordinary items are basically useless."

Liu Ming looked at the messy house he had created, his face full of helplessness.

How was he going to clean this up?

Liu Ming suddenly remembered that there were some old items stored in the attic.

Some of these items were said to have a lot of history, but he didn't know if it was true or not.

Soon, Liu Ming arrived at the top-floor attic room, where many items were stored: old desks, old chairs, and various other tools.

There were also two sealed cardboard boxes.

He didn't bother with the old furniture because he had already tried it.

Furniture could be put into the backpack but couldn't be equipped, so it wasn't very useful.

The focus was on those boxes. He took a small knife and cut open the seals on the boxes, one after another. Three minutes later, both boxes had been opened. One contained old items left by his parents, which had great sentimental value.

The other box, however, was extraordinary. It contained two items, both in special boxes. One box contained a set of official robes from an unknown dynasty, and the other box contained a cleaver.

It was an ancient-looking cleaver with the character 'O' (imperial) engraved on the blade and dragon scales embroidered on the handle.

His grandfather once said when he was alive that his ancestors had produced imperial chefs. Could it be true?

He had always thought his grandfather was boasting.

It wasn't his fault; after all, three generations of his family, including his grandfather, father, and himself, hadn't produced any decent dishes. Although they ran a Chinese Restaurant, the taste was just mediocre. How could he believe that his ancestors had produced imperial chefs?

Liu Ming looked curiously at the two items in front of him. Was this garment an official robe or a chef's uniform?

Never mind, it doesn't matter what it is. Let's equip it and see.

He took off the winter cotton jacket he was currently wearing and put on the official robe.

The attribute panel changed once again.

Equipped a shirt, Physical Defense +0.2, Temperament +1, Authority +1.

Two more hidden attributes.

But that wasn't the point anymore. What truly left him dumbfounded was that a string of new skills had appeared below the skill bar:

Sichuan Cuisine - Grandmaster

Cantonese Cuisine - Master

Shandong Cuisine - Advanced

Jiangsu Cuisine - Advanced

Zhejiang Cuisine - Intermediate

Fujian Cuisine - Intermediate

Hunan Cuisine - Intermediate

Anhui Cuisine - Intermediate

Liu Ming was completely stunned. With just one piece of clothing, he had become a master chef.

Is this really happening? And his Cantonese Cuisine even reached Master level. Could the owner of this garment be an imperial chef who specialized in Cantonese Cuisine?

With a skeptical attitude, he thought of a dish, a famous one: White Cut Chicken. Immediately, memories flooded his mind: selection of ingredients, seasoning, cooking methods, heat control, and so on.

Moreover, there were subtle changes for chickens from different regions, as if by simply following these steps, he could perfectly complete the dish.

"With these skills, do I still need to copy novels? My family has a restaurant. If I reopen it, I'll be raking in money in no time."

He decided that if it wasn't necessary, he would absolutely not take off this official robe.

However, after he equipped the cleaver, he realized that he might only be able to be a chef for the rest of his life.
