Night arrived.
A masked figure broke into the guild's sanctuary.
Riley woke to alarms blaring.
Kaela burst into the room. "Red Syndicate infiltrator! He's here for you!"
The infiltrator attacked.
Riley dodged, barely.
The intruder's blade cut across his chest—
then passed through him.
Riley turned into static, then re-solidified.
The intruder stumbled.
"What… are you…?"
Riley didn't know.
But his body acted on instinct.
A blast of glitch energy threw the assassin into a wall.
He fled, shouting:
"THE ORIGIN AI MUST BE INFORMED!"
Riley shivered.
Even Aeris looked terrified.
"They're not supposed to know you exist."
