Luanna's POV:
Once again, someone was shaking me and waking me from my sweet sleep.
"Get up," someone said, shaking me. I suspected it was one of the guys.
"Piss off," I mumbled, twisting away.
"Get up, quickly! We're the only ones left on the plane!" Jake yelled.
I snapped my eyes open and turned to him. I felt even worse now than before. I wanted to sleep even more. Clinging to his outstretched hand, I struggled to my feet, and leaning on him with my bag, we slowly walked out of the plane. As far as I could tell, everyone else was already waiting outside.
I won't deny that I felt terrible. I felt weak and nauseous, but I kept walking, enduring it. Approaching our waiting friends, I noticed that almost all of them were alert. El and Beth were bursting with energy, the guys looked a little worn out except for Louis and Harry, and Niall was having trouble standing, leaning against a lamp post by the roadside.
A taxi pulled up to us, and I didn't even care where we were going. I was focused on not throwing up in the car. I don't know how much time passed or where we were, I just walked alongside Jake. We were given keys to two apartments. One fit four people, where both couples would live, and in the other, the rest of us—six people—would live. Just my luck. Four days alone with five messy, lazy boys.
I was led up to the room, and the moment I saw the bottles of water placed on the table, I snatched one. Drinking it made me feel better, but not great. I collapsed onto the sofa, and incredibly, I was asleep within a minute.
Jake's POV:
"Did she manage to fall asleep?" Josh was confused. "We haven't even been here for two minutes, and she's already had a drink and is sleeping soundly," he complained.
"You wouldn't believe how much she can accomplish for her own good," I chuckled.
"So, you're saying she's very selfish?" Liam asked.
"In the right or necessary moments—yes."
"Any ideas what we should do?" Zayn asked.
"Go to sleep," Niall grumbled, and walking into the first room he saw, he slammed the door shut.
"We could go to the store," Josh suggested. "Lunchtime is over, and dinner is still far away. We'll buy some food and drinks."
"Sounds good to me," I said.
"To us too," the other two agreed.
Covering Luanna with a blanket, and grabbing essentials like my phone and wallet, we went outside. It was a good thing Liam had been here before, so he knew where a nearby store was. Walking down the street, Josh suddenly started giggling to himself.
"Did something happen?" Liam asked, looking at him strangely.
"Nothing," he continued, laughing. "I just thought about Niall's situation. They're like they're meant for each other. We're going to the store, they're sleeping. They do the same things but don't notice it. Niall is in love with her, and Luanna mostly sees him as a friend," he couldn't stop laughing.
"Well, yeah," Liam agreed. "But I can bet they'll be together in the future."
"Maybe," Josh said simply, calming down, but then started laughing again.
"Alright, alright. Settle down. People are looking at us like we're crazy," Zayn tried to calm him down.
"I think he is," I mumbled, and now everyone was laughing.
"Let's just go," Liam grumbled, walking through the store's doors.
"How grumpy," Josh scoffed and followed him, which we did after him.
The store wasn't impressive. A counter, about ten aisles with a few people milling about. We split up. Josh and Zayn went for drinks and other things, I went for sweets, and Liam went somewhere else. Deep in thought, I tried to decide what to pick up. The selection was simply too big. Thinking I should try something new, I grabbed four bars of unrecognizable chocolate, three packets of gummy candies, and some strange-looking gum.
I stood in line at the cash register and saw that the other guys were already waiting for me with their purchases. Turns out I took longer than I thought. I quickly paid, and we all left the store. We walked in silence, so I had time to consider some things. I wondered, for instance, whether Luanna had truly forgiven Niall, or was just pretending for our sake? Although only I, Beth, and El know her real story, I secretly want Lu and Niall to be together. I'm not saying anything to her, and I won't, but it would be amazing. That's why I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them.
I didn't even notice when Liam unlocked the apartment door. Walking in, we found everything in place. Nothing had changed, not even Luanna's sleeping position. She didn't look well. Pale, dark circles under her eyes, and she was mumbling something in her sleep. Taking care not to wake them, we quietly put the bags on the floor. We took off our shoes or flip-flops. We walked in different directions. Only Josh, being the clumsy guy he is, tripped over the bag he was carrying and fell face-first onto the floor with a bang. We all looked at him angrily, but we relaxed because it didn't wake any of the sleepers. Luanna just hissed something but didn't move. Then we realized we could relax a bit because sounds wouldn't wake them up so easily.
Looking around the room more closely, I saw there was an Xbox. Eyes wide, I rushed to the TV, and after a good search, I found some games. Various ones. With all the signs I could think of, I signaled the others, and they looked like starved wolves at the only two controllers. Josh and I grabbed them first and, sitting on the sofa where Luanna was sleeping and in the armchair, we started "killing time." We switched controllers every few rounds and had to constantly hush someone because, being idiots, people didn't realize that a person was sleeping right next to them or even in the same place.
I don't know how much time passed, but Luanna started to wake up. She opened her eyes, and something was wrong. She looked at us with fear in her eyes.
"I need water," she said suddenly. "Now. I need water!" She jumped off the sofa and started panicking. "Where's the water?!"
"There isn't any, I don't know, we didn't buy any, it ran out," I said, confused and as fast as I could.
"I require water! I'm going to throw up if I don't get drinking water," she hysterically cried.
"Take it," Liam ran over, having dug through the bag he was carrying. "Those blockheads didn't think to buy water, just chocolate on the brain," he grumbled.
The girl immediately grabbed the bottle and took several large gulps. Niall, probably awakened by the shouting, emerged from the room and surveyed what was happening with sleepy eyes.
"What the f—" he didn't even manage to say anything before she hushed him.
"Shhh. Quietly. It's so ringing in my ears," Luanna clutched her head and lay down in the exact same spot. She wrapped herself in the blanket like a cocoon, which looked very cute. She took a deep breath and exhaled. "Can you give me another blanket?"
"But it's over—"
"Please. I'm cold," she mumbled.
Zayn quickly ran to the room and, taking a sheet, brought it here and covered Luanna. Everyone was silent, unmoving, waiting for her to fall asleep. When we heard her breathing slow down, everyone visibly relaxed. Niall approached me, confused.
"What the hell was that?"
