He paused and then, with a chilling smile, added:
"For him, I alone am enough!"
Even though Ye Chen wanted to argue, he knew that protecting Ashen and Ye Ming was also a critical task.
It had been mostly because of Mao Lang targeting Ye Ming constantly that Ye Chen could fight him freely using his strongest killer moves.
Moreover, he could get a first-row seat to the fight between Mao Lang and the Dragon Emperor.
There was no way he wouldn't be excited for this.
He nodded, showing his agreement to Shang Long as he descended to the ground along with Ye Ming and Ashen.
Mao Lang looked at this scene and understood what they planned to do.
So the new man will fight me alone?
Good! I should be able to handle him.
After I kill him, there would be no problem in killing the other one.
He smiled behind his mask.
Meanwhile, Shang Lang floated forward towards Mao Lang.
Soon, dragon qi swirled around Shang Long's body, scales growing on his skin.
An ethereal shell of dragon armor appeared around his body, made purely out of materialized dragon qi. His dragon claws wrapped themselves around his hands.
A translucent dragon tail grew from his tailbone.
It was then that dragon scales appeared on the surface of the shell and completed Shang Long's killer move.
Mao Lang smirked upon seeing Shang Long's transformation as he conjured up his own killer move.
He clapped his hands together, joining them before sending the lightning qi coursing through his body.
Heavenly Thunder Dragon!
Lightning rumbled in the sky, and with a swift movement, Mao Lang pushed his right hand towards the sky as if he was attacking the air with his palm. His left hand grabbed the forearm of his right hand.
Rumble!
From his body, scarlet lightning shot up as if to strike the heavens themselves.
And as if attacking him with their own attack, the heavens sent down a similar lightning strike.
Boom!
Both attacks collided midair, producing a deafening crackle of unperturbed lightning.
Soon, something unusual happened as both lightning strikes began to swirl and merge with each other, creating an egg of scarlet lightning.
Then at the next second, cracks appeared on the egg, and a roar that seemed to shatter the sky came from inside the egg.
A scarlet dragon made purely of lightning revealed his terrifying head from the egg.
It then shed the shells of the egg, growing into a humongous dragon of deathly scarlet lightning.
Its huge wings supported its flight, its eyes fixed on Shang Long.
With a swift flap of its wings, it flew through the air, appearing in front of Mao Lang as if to protect him.
The lightning dragon was taller than a palace and larger than a mansion.
Lightning crackled on its body.
Ye Chen's eyes widened on seeing that humongous dragon as he mumbled in shock:
"What kind of monstrosity is that? Will the dragon emperor be alright?"
Shang Long, however, was calm or could even be said to be excited.
It was after a long time that he felt a thrill at the thought of fighting someone.
He smirked and commented:
"A dragon to fight the dragon emperor? How befitting!"
Mao Lang allowed the dragon to fly around him as he stared at Shang Long and asked:
"Will you attack me first or should I do the honors?"
He was just wasting time to let the dragon's lightning stabilize.
The more it stabilized, the stronger it would be.
Shang Long, however, was unaware of this fact.
Maybe if he was aware, then he would even allow Mao Lang to take his time and attack with his strongest attack.
However, since he was in the dark, he answered plainly:
"You are a junior, so of course you get to attack first."
Mao Lang studied the lightning dragon to see how much it had stabilized.
It was good enough to fight against an upper-stage emperor realm cultivator.
Moreover, he suspected the man to use little strength at first to probe the strength of Mao Lang.
And the dragon would even get stronger with each minute that passed.

The scales on his dragon armor dissipated the lightning without any problem.
Seeing that, Mao Lang felt a bad premonition as he commanded the dragon to abandon the attack and return.
"Stop! Retreat!" He yelled to increase his control over the dragon.
However, he was too late.
The dragon already had his humongous maw open to devour Shang Long and crush him under its lightning fangs.
It was already too close to stop attacking.
Shang Long began his counterattack.
His claws folded into a fist as he punched the air, or it looked like that.
However, as his punch was fully extended, the size of his fist grew like a balloon getting filled with air.
And when it struck the dragon, it was already larger than the whole maw of the dragon.
Boom!
The clawed fist struck with force that was beyond belief as the dragon was sent crashing into the ground below.
Boom!
A huge explosion reverberated in the area as the whole island quaked.
As the dust settled, a humongous crater had appeared around the dragon.
The dragon trembled as lightning crackled around its body.
However, Shang Long wasn't finished, as his huge claw moved through the air and grabbed the dragon by its neck.
Without any effort, Shang Long raised his hand that was attached to the claw holding the humongous dragon and clenched his fist, the claw resembling his action.
The next second, the terrifying lightning dragon dissipated into nothingness.
Ye Chen and Mao Lang's jaws dropped upon seeing the ridiculous ease with which Shang Long dispatched the dragon.
"Too... terrifying!"
