Lin Feng watched the scene with caution as he recognized that array.
It resembled the formation that he had shattered a month ago. The same formation that the Eastern Sovereign Hall relied on.
But how was this formation being recreated by that array flag in Ashen's hands?

Yes, it would've been better to use this formation on emperor realm cultivators like the sect master of the Eastern Sovereign Hall; however, the sect master was no protagonist.
Using it on Qin Feng and Ye Ming was a better choice any day.
Just the thought of two protagonists fighting was alluring to Ashen, and this time it was two on one between the protagonists.

Well, at first, the others were against the idea of using this formation on Qin Feng and Ye Ming, but after Ashen lied a bit, it was easier.

They weren't fully convinced but were on board with the idea of trying to kill Lin Feng with all their might.
They didn't believe that Lin Feng was capable of killing an emperor realm cultivator while enduring the attacks from all the emperor realm cultivators.
And to calm them down further, Ashen mentioned another reason for using Qin Feng and Ye Ming to fight Lin Feng:

He paused and then added, "As for Ye Ming, he is famous as the genius of the Eastern region. You all from the Eastern Sovereign Hall must be more familiar with his strength than myself."
As they heard Ashen's arguments, they couldn't help but feel their worries lessen.
As for Qin Feng and Ye Ming, convincing them was easy and difficult at the same time.
