Chapter 2 - Extraordinary Luck

The dormitory building was designed in the same style as the entrance, its walls saturated with cyberpunk colors.

Freya felt at peace inside, so much so that even if architecture from another galaxy appeared, she wouldn't find it strange. Was it the ambiance? Was the building enchanted in some way? She didn't know but she didn't hate it.

No one was at the silent dorm entrance.

Following the signs, she found Room 303 effortlessly.

The door was made of tin, and the glass of the top half was already broken, spiderweb cracks spiraling from an impact point. The lower half was pasted over with a few mottled newspapers, streaks of green and purple peeking through.

Rooms 304 and 305, on the other hand, were all designed normally, each with a clean wooden door.

Freya was silent for a second, before calmly accepting this setting. After the view she'd seen outside, something like this couldn't faze her anymore.

She opened the door.

The dormitory was a single room. Fortunately, the interior design style was completely different from the door. All the furnishings were ordinarily modern, and the room was around 16 square meters, just like a high-end small apartment.

Although the room was small, the necessities were all there. There was even a small kitchen near the entrance, complete with an induction stove and a microwave oven.

Opening the cabinets, she discovered a complete set of bowls, plates, and utensils. She found the freshman handbook on the desk in a large gift box that contained a cell phone and a laptop as well as a cyan wristband.

Freya quickly scanned through the handbook.

All the villains who died in the real world were invited to this school to reform themselves. The so-called reformation consisted of taking exams and accumulating points. After reaching a certain number of points, the villains could graduate, leave the school, and get a new life.

Points were the most important things in this school. Food, clothing, housing, and transportation were all tied to the points.

Each person started with 100 points, and there was a fixed 50 point fee each month for the tuition and dorm rent. Once their points were used up, a student would be expelled from the school and die again.

The main way to get points was through exams. Specifically what kind of exams they were was not mentioned in the handbook.

After Freya understood more about the school, she felt a little more at ease. She had already died and now had a chance towards resurrection, albeit she was still hoping for it all to be a dream. If it was all reality, no matter what the exams were about, all she had to do was study hard.

The only thing she doubted now — how could she be a villain?

Everything in her life had been smooth sailing; no matter how you look at it, she was the main character. Although she died a little bit tragically, looking back on her short life, she would at least be a second female lead if not the heroine. How did she fall to villain status?

She didn't even do anything bad in her life!

This doubt was assuaged when she put on the cyan bracelet.

As soon as the bracelet was placed on her wrist, a transparent message box popped up.

Name: Freya Sorace

Class: Class 1, Modern Department

Points: 100

Rating: Class D

Check the biography of the character?

Freya chose "Yes".

Freya Sorace, age 23, had an easy-going and gentle personality. She didn't have much ambition and went where life took her. After graduating from college, she was cast in "Poison Ivy" by a new director and became famous. Her smooth ascension into the entertainment circle gradually caused her ego to expand, and the hefty influence her fame brought made her forget her humble beginnings.

When newcomer Aria Williams stole her limelight again and again based on her abilities, Freya couldn't stand it and framed Aria in many situations. However, due to the justice of the heavens, she would fail miserably each time. After her deeds were exposed on social media, Freya jumped off a twenty-eight-story high-rise building, ending her young life in one fell swoop.

Freya: ? ? ? ?

…Who was this Aria Williams again?!

After thinking about it for a long time, Freya recalled someone with that name, but she was still a trainee who had not debuted yet. Because of her beautiful appearance and some family connections, she was frequently searched.

But that wasn't the point!

The point was, Freya didn't know her at all! She never even did these things!

And she was struck to death by lightning, not by jumping off a building.

"Is there a bug?"

She felt quite wronged. Everyone else was a real villain, but she could be considered a quasi-villain at most. She hadn't even done anything wrong but was labeled as a villain.

Her hopes of all this being a dream shattered in that instant. It was as if a switch had been turned on in her brain, allowing her to wake up to her new reality.

With that realization, disappointment and despair set in instantly. The unfairness of it all didn't help, either.

So Freya took several deep breaths as she organized all the information she'd learned within the past two hours.

She thought about it carefully and felt that it was not a complete loss. She'd already died, but as long as she studied hard for the exam now and maxed out her points, she could be resurrected.

After being resurrected, she already knew the story of her future. As long as she avoided Aria Williams, she could avoid this whole catastrophe from repeating.

After coming to this conclusion, Freya felt at peace again and went to the bathroom to take a shower. Then, she lay down on her bed.

As soon as her head touched the pillow, she fell into a deep, undisturbed sleep.

After all, a person who had already died had nothing to fear.

When Freya got up the next day and walked to the campus, her worldview shifted again.

When she was in college, the school was in the suburbs and was known for being especially vast.

Most people chose to bike to or pay a dollar for the bus ride to the classes. Some people would even walk to the teaching building half an hour in advance, and only a few individual students would drive luxury cars.

However, at that moment, Freya stood on the spacious road and suddenly realized that the school's style did not match at all.

This was due to the strange transportation methods. There were people flying swords and riding brooms. The ground level was a little more normal, there were the sightseeing cars that May drove yesterday as well as bicycles and ordinary cars.

There were also people who were as light as swallows, tip-toeing on the roofs of cars.

As she passed by, a lot of people were cussing each other out.

"Those who know light cultivation are so amazing! Fucking trampling my car with shoe prints!"

"Don't let me catch which class you belong to, brat, I will burn you to death."

"Hey! Those who are flying, can you guys follow etiquette? Don't litter!"

"What the hell, you cultivators, didn't you start fasting early? Why are you eating breakfast? The seaweed egg drop soup you drank splashed down! I just washed my hair!"

"Fuck! Which earth-type psycho made a big hole here! Almost killed me!"

Freya was a little surprised that she was actually quite calm. After being shocked for a few seconds, she began to think about how to get to the modern department buildings.

This villain school campus was considerable in size. Yesterday, May's sightseeing car drove for 20 minutes to get across it. If she walked the path, it would probably take more than double the time.

While thinking, Freya smelled a fragrance.

The wide avenue was divided into pedestrian and vehicle roads.

About fifty meters in front of her, on the sidewalk she was walking on, there were breakfast stalls one after another. The stalls were selling fried buns, some common breakfasts such as fried dough sticks and soy milk, and some breakfast items that she had never seen before, such as tubes and tubes of colorful potions.

Freya stopped in front of a stall selling such potions.

The stall owner introduced his product enthusiastically.

"You should be in the modern department, right? And you haven't seen this kind of potion before, right? It's a magic potion, take one tube, your stamina will double for the whole day, and you won't have to worry about exams.

Five points for one tube, a variety of flavors: blueberry, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and lemon. You look new, so I'll give you 20% off, and if you buy two tubes, you'll get 30% off."

"Little sister, don't listen to him, five points for a tube of potions is a scam. Come and buy my older sister's fried dough sticks with soy milk, which are 100 times better than the cafeteria's but at the same price. Just give me 0.1 points, buy one and get one free. Very filling!"

"Hey, who steals others' business like this?"

"I just can't stand it anymore. Why don't you just steal five points? It's clear that it's a trick for newcomers. How many points can a D-level student get? How is your scamming different from pushing someone into a fire pit?"

"You don't understand, I call this venture capital!"

The stall owner pointed to the cardboard sign on his stall.

"Buy one tube and get a chance with my lottery machine. The special prize is a self-made magic broom, a new type of transportation tool, which does not consume gas or electricity and does not require a driver's license. One can't get this magic broom for less than fifty points!"

The stall owner selling soymilk fritters rolled his eyes: "You've been selling potions for a few months, and no one has ever even won the third prize, let alone the special one. Who knows if you really have a special prize."

"Don't talk nonsense, someone from our department with x-ray vision has testified, there is indeed a golden ball with a special prize in it. You can't blame me if you're unlucky and can't get it! Classmate, just buy a tube, it'll take you into the mystical world of magic. With twenty percent off, you only need four points. Buy a tube to prepare for exams, it's not a loss."

Freya said, "I'll take one."

"Great, what flavor?"

"Chocolate."

"Sweep your bracelet near mine."

Freya saw a message pop up from the bracelet with a "beep."

Points: 96

Only then did Freya realize that the color of the stall owner's bracelet was different from hers. Hers was cyan and the owner's was purple. The bracelet of the soy milk and fritters seller next door was blue.

At this time, the stall owner happily packed the medicine and handed it to Freya, instructing her.

"This medicine of mine can just be directly taken, and if you don't need it at the moment you can store it in the freezer. It tastes better that way. I'll give you a lucky draw, shake the machine! Gold is the special prize, red is the first prize, orange is the second prize, purple is the third prize, and white is no prize."

As soon as the stall owner finished speaking, Freya had already shaken out a bright golden bead from the lottery machine.

She was not surprised.

...It seemed that her good luck had been restored, and it worked despite being in a different world.

— — —

With dark circles under her eyes, May got off the sightseeing bus. She felt nauseous thinking about last night.

She clearly saw Freya Sorace disappear from her sight. There was only one road leading to the dormitory building in District 1, and both sides were fenced off. It was extremely dangerous at night, so there was only one road to take.

However, Derek said that no one was there, and even threw a tantrum at her and took advantage of her after he was done. Thinking of Derek, that wretched and ugly bastard, she felt disgusted to the bottom of her heart.

She was just an ordinary person with no superpowers, no magic, no cultivation, and no martial arts skills, which caused her to be defeated in the exam arena every time. She could only be dependent on others, which meant that she had to suffer these indignities in silence.

She even felt that Derek was tricking her; maybe he already did Freya, then came to take advantage of May.

There was only one road there, and it would have been impossible not to catch the freshman.

"Coming through!" A sharp voice sounded in midair.

Before May could react, a gust of wind blew in her face, and she almost lost her footing. When she recovered, she took a closer look and saw the freshman that she'd been thinking of getting off a fucking magic broom.

Her complexion was excellent, her eyes were curved into crescent moons, and she smiled at May.

"Yo, good morning, class prez!"

May could not take her eyes off of that broom.

"You … How do you have a magic broom?"

Freya responded in a matter of fact tone.

"I'm lucky! I just bought a tube of magic potions on the way here and got it in the lottery that came with my purchase."
