Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: The Fractured History

Existence chuckled, a smile playing on their lips. "Now first things first, I am what you might call a progenitor considering I give birth to countless different concepts..." They took a sip from their cup.

Existence began to count their fingers. "There's Life, Resurrection, Father Time, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse- The cute little Nursery Rhyme..."They giggled.

"But of course, there is one that proceeds before all of them..." Existence sighed as they looked at a dark corner.

"It's about time I get into the spotlight..." A voice called out from the darkness, his voice was raspy and tired.

"Oh dear, nobody is left behind, everyone gets their chance in the spotlight." Existence remarked.

"Oh really?" The voice called out, with a solemn sigh, the person emerging from the abyssal darkness and moving closer.

The person wore a hat that covered his head, a cloak surrounding him, all of the clothing he wore was in an all pitch black style, it was as if the person was a nobody. Rather he is Nobody himself.

"You look like you've seen better days..." Nobody chuckled sarcastically, pulling out a lighter.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk; have I not taught you any manners?" Existence remarked, erasing the cigarette from his mouth with a snap.

"Tch, I'm just trying to relax and this is how you welcome your son?!" Nobody scoffed.

"So now you're talking back to me." Existence frowned.

"Ever since the moment I was born." Nobody smirked.

"Hmph, besides you can't tell what I'm feeling right now because there's not a single expression on my face." He continued, walking around in circles.

Existence sighed and crossed their arms. "So what are you doing here, have you come here to mock me and belittle the one who gave birth to your entire existence?"

Nobody remarked. "Uhhh nope, not one tiny bit."

"What I'm here to do is to discuss some stuff such as why did you create gods when we concepts exist in the first place?" Nobody asked, waiting for a response.

Existence responded. "Well you can say that these beings are easier in terms of worship and concepts are not exactly visible to the human eye-"

"That may be true but the gods also have a true form which is not allowed for humans to lay their eyes upon..." Nobody clarified.

"You really are a smart one eh?" Existence raised an eyebrow.

"It's obvious, I'm your firstborn unlike my younger siblings, I have better knowledge than they do..." Nobody looked up and sighed.

"But other than that, why did you create humans?" Nobody asked once more, curious on what Existence will respond this time.

"Ahahahahahahaha! Ahem! I'm sorry but, is that even supposed to be a question?" Existence replied.

"Humans are one of, if not one of the best things that I ever brought forth into this known plane! Yes, they may not be perfect like us but that's what makes humans extraordinary, humans make mistakes, they have sins, and those stuff can be considered as a bad sign but their best trait is something I'd like to call: progression!" They added.

"If you think about it clearly, we concepts have a stopping point, we and the gods have limits but that's what humans don't have, when they are pushed to their own limits, what do they do? They don't stop, rather they continue pushing forward, they never stop striving and going as far to even surpass their limits!" They exclaimed with joy.

Existence teleported both of them to Earth. "Look at the world right now, right now they have achieved the pinnacle of their civilization, we may have been the ones who created them and the world but it is their time to make a name for themselves and bring forth contributions that will go down throughout time itself!" They shouted to the tip of their lungs."

"Now, does that answer your questions?" They looked back at them, waiting for their response.

"Well, that has slightly elevated my perception towards the human species...though in spite of that, you said they are not without their fault..." He sighed, putting his hands inside his pockets.

"I too have observed them from the shadows and I have seen what had humans have done, humans have began acting like gods, dictating the world on what they believe is their version of right, they have fallen deep into their sins, their authority has caused havoc upon the lives of the innocent, the cries of the victims echo out and yet not action isn't being taken to uphold the guilty..." Nobody added, tilting his head.

"They are clinging to the faith that everything will become better when it reality it is merely an endless cycle of pain and suffering that not even us conceptual beings with authority above everything...you know this and yet you won't take any action and you wouldn't allow any of us to do anything about it despite knowing how long it's been...just how long must we stand there?" He vented before calming down.

"I've seen what I have needed to see and I will be planning on my own agenda and I wish to not see you personally interfere with any of my plans..." He looked back at them with a serious expression before turning away and walking towards a different direction.

"Hmph, whatever that brat is up to- I hope they know what they're doing..." Existence sighed in doubt.

| SOMEWHERE FAR FAR AWAY |

"If I'm being honest those creatures have definitely showcased their potential through progression over time..." Nobody spoke to himself.

"But what if something happened during those times of progression? Would it still progress or remain stale?" He questioned himself.

"Ideas are often what filled the minds of every single one of us, not just humans, but the divine and as well as conceptual beings...an empty mind wouldn't really be anything interesting without a spark of imagination that brings a sense of wonder-"

He stood up and sighed. "Well, there's only one way to find out..."

Nobody began to hover of what appears to be a stream of lines flowing in a straight direction, like a flock never separating. It illuminated the space around him, a warmth shining glow that radiated unlike anything else.

"Hmmm, so this is what human history looks like, it's so fascinating though I have done my research and saw about everything that had occurred..." He said whilst dazzled by the sight.

"Well I just wonder how big of a difference would it be if I were to change it..." He chuckled.

"Let's see...five percent? No that would be too few, hmmm...ten percent...fifteen percent to twenty percent is close to what I'm desiring but let's go with twenty five percent for good measure..." Nobody grinned. "I could easily change it to an altered one hundred percent but I'm feeling generous at least and besides Existence would banish me until infinity and eternity ends.

And thus with a single disruption in the timeflow, everything began to change in mere milliseconds.

The cosmos began to rupture and shake, the surroundings began to shift and change, all the concept began to feel the unnatural event and even Existence themself knew how dire the situation had become.

"What has he done?!" Existence exclaimed in a panic.

And so Existence summoned forth all concepts: Life, Resurrection, Father Time, Nursery Rhyme, Infinity, Eternity, Oblivion as well as War, Conquest, Death and Famine inside her throne room.

"I want all of you to aid me in this battle to arrest your brother The Abyss! There will be no objections!" Existence exclaimed.

All concepts nodded without hesitation and all of them went ahead and travelled across the cosmos to find him.

From afar inside the temple, Nobody felt slightly uneasy internally. "Well they're all onto me, there's no turning back on what I've done now..." Nobody muttered to himself.

"It's either fight or flight, guess I'll go down fighting..." Nobody sighed and headed off across the space to confront his siblings.

"You've got a lot of nerve to show yourself coward..." Death scoffed, pointing her scythe at his neck.

"Indeed and yet I'm now here, face to face with my family who are ready to stop me from what I'm doing..." Nobody remarked, adjusting the cuffs on his coat.

"Bad decision honestly..." Harlequin tooted on their trombone for a sad effect.

"You've got nowhere to run now, this is your destiny, your doom and the ending of your story..." Destiny remarked, closing his book with a firm expression.

"Ending you say?" Nobody chuckled sarcastically.

"Nah, this story has only just begun!" Nobody exclaimed as he began to take the first move.

He focused his attention both on Death and Destiny, attacking them both with dual blades.

War swung their sword at them but their attack had slide through his body.

"How unbearably disappointing...especially coming from you..." Nobody scoffed.

He uppercuts him and kicks him in the head.

As Nobody turns around, he gets hit with sparkles and out emerge were Harlequin and Nursery Rhyme ready to attack him from his blind spot.

Nobody ducked down to let the two to hit one another.

"You have made a huge mistake in confronting me..." From the inside of his body, a huge amount of energy has amassed and flowed through him and from it he began to start forming a black hole and began to launch it at the rest of his siblings.

"This is as far as you go." A voice called out.

In an instance, everything had began to stop, everybody froze until...

A sound of an explosion was heard and the sound of a wailing scream came out from Nobody's voice, his body began to bleed due to the explosion from Nursery Rhyme and the sudden spike traps laid out by Harlequin.

"Dirty trick, you cheap bastard..." Nobody coughed, grasping on his wounded area after releasing himself from that trap.

Death, War, Conquest and Famine began to launch themselves simultaneously to attack him but Nobody turned himself intangible, making the four of them phase straight to him.

"Hngh...that would have been over for me...not to mention you four are a deadly combination" Nobody twitched, still feeling pain from his wound.

Infinity appears before him, which makes Nobody tremble and attempts to move away but is frozen from Infinity's power despite him being more powerful in terms of authority.

"The only one unreadable amongst my younger siblings, as Infinity's name suggests, they are the embodiment of infinity itself, never ending and never ceasing, henceforth why I am unable to make a clear idea of what they'll do to me next...infinity can make anything into infinite...their conditions, the abundance of resources and even the distance between me and him..."

With one push from Infinity, Nobody began to fell down, from a mere push, Infinity made a bottomless pit where Nobody will fall into until everything in existence ends.

"Shit...he's one complete step ahead of me, I was planning on buying time for my plan to complete, I still require more time to initiate how I will continue this...the only way I could b able to think of being able to accomplish is to..."

In a blink, Nobody remembered what Existence has told of him about the difference between humans and concepts and from that memory, he had recalled something important- the ability to surpass one's limit.

"If this doesn't work then I will damn every single one of you..." Nobody echoed as his body began to light up with conceptual energy.

As he is falling down, he encounters Oblivion along wit him.

"What are you doing here?" Nobody blinked in confusion.

"Well Abyss, you and I are both are synonymous with one another that after you replaced me, you and I became almost one and I have what it takes to get us both here...would you synchronize with me..." Oblivion said weakly, reaching his hand out.

"If this is one way to continue what I must accomplish, so be it!" Nobody accepted and fused with Oblivion, their bodies both glowing and began to mold with one another leading to their transformation.

Due to the energy of both Oblivion and Nobody's synergy, the infinite bottomless pit that Infinity had created began to shatter into endless pieces causing a giant cloud of mist surrounding the area, leaving both Infinity and every single conceptual being to froze in fear.

From the mist clearing stood Nobody further strengthened by Oblivion's power, stood tall and back to top shape.

"This bastard just keeps on coming back no matter what we do..." Father Time grunted.

Nobody looked at them calmly and declared. "Rejoice, my siblings, the advent of the new human history has begun...with it everything from the old world will fall and a new one will begin..."

"As if we will let you do anything to make it happen!" War exclaimed, swinging his blade but phasing through Nobody.

"Foolish sibling of mine, you are merely delaying the inevitable...allow me to delay you of your suffering!" Nobody exclaimed as he bind them all with his newly gained power.

Nobody touched the surface of the cosmos, the area began to change changing into a landscape resonating with his very own power.

"Behold, my strongest ability yet...I call it the Ideation Abyss...it is an abyss where every single idea that is discarded falls here...and I can also permanently remove your abilities!" Nobody declared.

Nobody looks from the distance. "Only a few seconds before current human history is destroyed and getting remade...time to say goodbye...it pains me to do this but it is what it is..." Nobody remarked.

"You can't do this! Please! Stop this now Abyss!" Life exclaimed at him.

But then before they could even conduct their next move.

"W-what's happening to me?!" Nursery Rhyme exclaimed, noticing the cracks on their body.

"Shit." Death moved closer to examine Nursery but it was too late, Nursery broke into a million pieces.

Everyone else began to experience cracks around their body and on that moment-

"I figured you wouldn't let this slide but it's too late, I'm already in control now everyone..." Nobody declared.

"You sick son of a -" Death said before getting destroyed as well.

"There's nothing you can do! Nothing, because this time I'm the overarching power of this world...time will flow differently and all of your memories will be erased, goodbye proper human history and hello to the new world!" He grinned.

But before he could celebrate, he got hit by an attack from Father Time.

And then he too snapped like all the rest of the concepts. It was all that it took for a universal reset that paved the way for a new world altered due to Nobody's machinations, everything that once was is now replaced with a new counterpart.

"Rejoice, now the universe will be much more interesting..." He chuckled in amusement.

For the first time in his life, there was nothing out there to stop his power.
