Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Bonded Souls

"Have you calmed down?" March 7 asked, still holding me.

I just nodded, as it was quite difficult for me to speak.

"Well, cheer up! We'll still be together, we'll spend a lot of time together." she said, moving away from me.

But... I don't think I can...

"Exactly!" I shouted, jumping up from the couch, surprising March 7.

Without hesitation, I pulled out my phone.

Evernight: Nyx, I need your help!

Elf: What happened?

Evernight: It's hard to explain in a message; you can teleport to me.

Elf: Yeah... Wait...

Elf: Where the hell are you? I'm trying to get to you, but something's holding me back, like I'm hitting a wall.

I looked at March 7.

"How do I let Nyx in here?"

"Nyx, are you talking about that goddess? Evernight, I don't think she can help, she's not strong enough…" I interrupted her.

"Never mind, we have to try!" I snapped, causing March to fall silent, then sigh.

"That's it, I've opened this dimension…" and before I could write, Nyx appeared in front of me, the same pink-haired elf.

"Well, finally!" she said, then looked at me and then back at March 7.

"You never said you had a twin sister," she said.

"Uh… Well, technically, she's me, and I'm her… Okay, that's all complicated, but think of her as my sister." I said.

"Well, anyway, nice to meet you. My name is Nyx." she said, extending her hand to March 7.

"March 7." my sister replied.

"Okay, what do you need help with?" Nyx asked, looking at me.

I sighed and briefly outlined the situation...

"So, you're disappearing... Sorry, but I can't help here." she said, and before I could say a word, Nyx raised her hand.

"But I know someone who can help." she said, then pulled out her phone and started typing.

I couldn't help but wonder who she was talking to, but the next second, a shorter, purple-haired girl appeared next to her.

"What? How did you get here?! I closed this dimension!" March 7 jumped up in shock.

The girl just smiled.

"Child, your barrier isn't enough to keep me out." she replied.

"What..." Mart was about to ask, but before she could, a crystal figure materialized next to her.

"Hmm... Here comes the owner of this dimension." the girl said haughtily.

"What are you doing here? If my daughters offended you, then I apologize for them," said Fuli.

Daughters? That's news...

So wait, if Fuli is acting like this, then...

How strong is this girl?

"Okay, Mom, enough! Don't embarrass me." said Nyx.

What? Mom?

"Nyx, I'm just having fun." the girl replied, pouting like a little child.

Are they really mother and daughter?

"Do you want me to tell Mommy about your behavior?" Nyx asked, causing the girl to turn pale.

"I don't understand who you're taking after? Shiroko wasn't like that!" the girl countered.

"My sister's just afraid of Mommy too." Nyx replied smugly.

What's going on right now? I can't understand anything!

Then the girl, or rather the woman, looked at Fuli.

"Okay, crystal girl, calm down. Your daughters haven't offended me. My daughter called me to help her." the woman said.

"Well, anyway... Yes, this is my mother... Her name is Sirin." Nyx replied, then briefly described what she needed help with.

Sirin, after listening to her daughter, looked at March 7 and went to meet her, but Fuli blocked her path.

"I won't harm your daughter, I just want to examine her." Sirin said.

I couldn't quite make out what Fuli's gaze was... well, maybe it's because she's made of crystal or something, maybe it's some kind of ice?

Finally, Fuli reluctantly moved out of the way, and Sirin appeared next to us. Without thinking, she placed her hand on Mart 7's chest, which from an outside perspective looked like someone was groping her, but I don't know what she was doing, but from the glow in her eyes... maybe she was scanning.

A minute later, she removed her hand.

"Well?" I couldn't help but ask.

"Her soul... There are too many holes in it... It shouldn't be like this. If you separated from her soul, it shouldn't be in this state." Sirin said.

"Can this be fixed?" I asked.

She didn't answer, but simply looked at March 7 and, with one movement, struck her across the neck.

This shocked me, and without thinking, I fired ice at her.

Why? Why did she do that...

My ice couldn't reach her as it immediately evaporated. I was about to repeat the attack, but someone hugged me from behind.

It was Fuli, and strangely enough, her hands were warm, even soft.

"Evernight, stop! Look over there!" Fuli said, pointing at March 7's head, where a strange liquid was leaking from her ear.

"What is that?" I asked.

"The reason her soul is in this state." Sirin replied.

"How could I not notice?" Fuli said.

"Well, you wouldn't have noticed. It's corrosion, left behind by someone much stronger than you. I don't know why anyone did it. But they definitely wanted to hurt this girl. A slow disappearance, everyone you knew forgotten over time, until you yourself faded into oblivion." Sirin replied.

"But is everything okay now?" I asked.

"Not quite." Sirin replied.

"But you removed the corrosion." I countered.

"Yes, but it's impossible to restore a lost part of the soul... the one eaten away by the corrosion. It can only be regrown. And really... You technically saved it." Sirin said.

"What?" I asked.

"If you hadn't separated from her, she would have disappeared long ago... But separating from her slowed the corrosion." Sirin said...

So, in fact, I didn't take anything from her...

"So, if March 7 and Evernight were to try to take one soul again..." Fuli began, but didn't finish because Sirin nodded.

"She would have disappeared almost immediately."

Fuck! I could have killed her! Bitch!

Sigh...

I'm glad she is who she is, otherwise we would both have disappeared...

"But wait, how do we regrow the missing soul part?" I asked.

"Find the one who has it." Sirin said, and before I could finish, she raised her hand.

"No, it's not you. In that case, you need someone who is connected to her spiritually, someone who can mend the holes in her soul. And you definitely aren't her, because essentially, you and Mart 7 are the same person." Sirin said.

After her words, I looked at Fuli, who... frowned?

It seemed she realized who this person was...

"And if she's dead?" Fuli asked.

"You yourself should know that nothing is dead until you disappear into oblivion, forgotten by everyone. If she's dead, we need to find her soul, or if she's reincarnated, then find her. Even if she doesn't remember her past life, connected souls will find each other and restore what was lost," Sirin said, then looked at her daughter.

"We'll leave you here. I've stabilized her condition, so she shouldn't feel much pain, but it's best not to let her worry too much," Sirin said and disappeared.

"Well, I guess I'll be going too! See you later, Evernight." Nyx said and also disappeared.

I glanced at Fuli, who was still lost in her thoughts, then she looked up and looked at me.

"Keep an eye on her. I need to check on something." she said and also disappeared.

And once again, we were alone...

I looked at March 7 and picked her up, laying her on the couch, resting her head on my lap.

About an hour later, she opened her eyes and looked strangely at her chest...

"I don't feel any pain," she said with relief...

I just nodded.

"Sirin helped. Even though we can't restore your soul, the corrosion is gone." I said, running my hand through her hair.

Then I looked at her and decided to ask anyway...

"March 7, the person whose soul you're connected to... Is it Stelle?" I asked.

She smiled bitterly again and nodded softly.

"Tell me how you... or rather, we, started dating her." I asked, hoping the pleasant memories would help her a little.

"Well, we weren't really dating." March 7 said.

"But she wanted it, and so did I... She'd climb into my bed many times at night, she'd often joke, but her jokes weren't funny... I don't know when, but I started seeing her as more than just a friend... This restless girl who loved to rummage through trash cans..." March 7 said, and even laughed a little at the end.

I just listened to her without interrupting. She told me a lot, but it often came back to her, Stelle. But I've seen conversations about her, which makes March 7 happy...

Although, one thing was clear: they wanted to date, but they never made it. Well, apparently they did share a kiss, which is what bound their souls together...

Well, at least it sounds pretty romantic...

But still, I was haunted by questions...

Who did this to March 7?

Why is she suffering so much?

And what will I do with this entity when we find him or her?

Although, I'm sure of this. I'll make whoever hurt March 7 suffer!
