Chapter 39 - Revenge for the Murder of His Father

Having discovered the secrets of the Continent and the Mysterious Organization within the ancient magic tome during their previous adventure, they weren't content with just the clues in the book. To help Hu Yulun avenge his father's death as quickly as possible, they visited Border Towns and Villages across various Kingdoms.

Hu Yulun, a longsword strapped to his back, had a stern face. Burning with furious rage and unwavering determination in his eyes, he declared, "Even if I have to search every corner of this Continent, I will find the truth!" He clenched his teeth as he strode firmly towards their next destination. Isabella followed closely beside him, her beautiful face etched with worry, her magic staff emitting a faint glow. Merlin trailed behind, his expression grave as he constantly flipped through the ancient magic tome in his hands.

They arrived at a Border Town. The houses here were dilapidated, and a sense of decay permeated the streets. Standing at the entrance of the town, Hu Yulun gazed at the scene before him, a wave of desolation washing over his heart.

An old man with a wrinkled face sat in front of his house, his eyes vacant as he stared into the distance. Hu Yulun walked over, bowed slightly, and softly asked, "Old man, can you tell us about the situation here?" The old man slowly raised his head, a glimmer of tears in his eyes, "War... it destroyed everything..."

Isabella knelt down, gently taking the old man's hand. "Grandpa, take your time."

In the town's Market, a skinny child was selling a few meager items in the cold wind. Hu Yulun walked over, patted the child's head, and gently asked, "Little one, where are your parents?" The child looked up, his eyes filled with fear and helplessness. "My parents were taken away by the war. I don't know where they are." Hu Yulun's heart ached. He pulled out some food from his pocket and gave it to the child. Isabella then used magic to conjure a warm cloak for the child. "Be strong, child."

They then went to a Village, where the Farmland was barren, devoid of any sign of life. A woman was carrying a heavy load of Firewood, struggling as she walked. Hu Yulun quickly ran over and took the firewood. "Sister, let me help you." The woman smiled wearily. "Thank you. When will this life ever end?"

Merlin stepped forward and said, "Sister, don't lose heart. We will do our best to make everything better."

Hu Yulun and his companions sat with the villagers, listening to their tales of the suffering brought by the war. A middle-aged man said, "Before the war started, many strangers suddenly appeared near the village, acting suspiciously." Hu Yulun's eyes brightened. "Do you remember what they looked like or any special features they had?" The man shook his head. "It all happened too fast; I couldn't see clearly."

Isabella frowned, lost in thought.

Hu Yulun fell into deep thought. These snippets of clues were like a faint light in the darkness, guiding their way forward.

They continued onward, arriving at a remote Village. At the entrance, a Veteran with a missing arm sat on a stone, looking dejected. Hu Yulun stepped forward and respectfully bowed. "Senior, can you tell us about what happened on the battlefield?" The Veteran looked up at him, sighed deeply, and said, "It was a hellscape. We were manipulated like pawns, not knowing what we were fighting for."

Tears welled up in Isabella's eyes. "How pitiful."

Hu Yulun's heart was filled with indignation. "There must be a hidden Conspiracy behind all this."

In a dilapidated Tavern, Hu Yulun and his companions tried to gather more information from the patrons. In a corner, a drunkard mumbled incoherently, "I saw a lot of strange supplies that appeared overnight."

As their investigation deepened, they discovered more strange signs. For instance, in the area between the two Kingdoms, a once-peaceful Village suddenly saw a large-scale movement of people, and their identities were unknown.

Hu Yulun meticulously recorded each clue on the paper. "These clues seem random, but I believe they're connected."

Isabella looked at Hu Yulun, "We'll definitely solve this mystery."

Merlin nodded in agreement, "Indeed, justice will always prevail over evil."

They worked tirelessly, day and night, not missing any possible leads.

One quiet night, they stayed at a farmhouse. Hu Yulun lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Father, I will avenge you and uncover the truth of all this.

Isabella, in the next room, was also unable to sleep, her thoughts consumed by the suffering people.

Merlin, outside in the yard, was contemplating the next step in their plan, gazing at the starry sky.

Finally, they arrived at a mysterious castle hidden in a valley. The castle was heavily guarded. Hu Yulun and his companions hid in the distant woods, observing.

"This castle is suspicious; it might be the core of the conspiracy," Hu Yulun said in a low voice.

Isabella gripped her Magic Staff, "We need to be careful."

They quietly approached the Castle, searching for a way in.

Suddenly, a Patrol came their way. Hu Yulun quickly signaled his companions to get down and hold their breath.

After the Patrol passed, they found a damaged window on the side of the Castle.

Hu Yulun carefully climbed inside, with Isabella and Merlin following closely behind.

A strange atmosphere permeated the Castle, with eerie portraits hanging on the walls.

They crept through the corridor and suddenly overheard a conversation between two guards.

"Things are getting tense lately; we can't afford to slip up."

"Don't worry, no one will find out."

Hu Yulun and his companions rushed forward, swiftly subduing the guards.

"Tell me, what conspiracy is going on here?" Hu Yulun demanded sternly.

The guard's face turned pale with fear. "I… I don't know…"

Isabella cast a spell, inflicting pain on the guard. "Speak!"

Under their interrogation, the guard finally revealed some crucial information.

They continued their exploration of the castle and discovered a secret chamber.

The secret chamber was filled with files and maps. Hu Yulun excitedly flipped through them, declaring, "This is their evidence of guilt!"

Isabella and Merlin also came over to examine them.

However, just as they were preparing to leave, the leader of the Mysterious Organization discovered them.

The leader sneered, "Do you think you can just walk away so easily?"

Hu Yulun was unafraid. "Your end has come!"

A fierce battle erupted. Hu Yulun wielded his Longsword, engaging in a desperate fight with the leader.

Isabella cast powerful magic from the side, providing support for Hu Yulun.

Merlin recited incantations, disrupting the leader's movements.

During the battle, Hu Yulun was injured, but he still fought on bravely.

"Hu Yulun, watch out behind you!" Isabella shouted.

Hu Yulun dodged to the side and struck back at the enemy.

In the end, they defeated the Leader, relying on their strong will and tacit cooperation.

They left the Castle with the Evidence, ready to expose the Mysterious Organization's Conspiracy to the public.

But on their way back, they encountered many obstacles.

Someone set a trap on the way, attempting to seize the Evidence.

Hu Yulun roared, "You evil people, don't even think about succeeding!"

Isabella used magic to protect the evidence.

Merlin, meanwhile, was observing their surroundings, looking for the enemy's weaknesses.

They repeatedly turned danger into safety, breaking through the enemy's pursuit and interception.

Finally, they handed the evidence to the rulers of the various kingdoms.

The rulers were shocked and decided to unite to jointly confront the Mysterious Organization.

In a decisive battle, Hu Yulun and his companions led the Army of Justice in a final showdown against the Mysterious Organization.

On the battlefield, Hu Yulun took the lead and charged forward.

"For justice! For peace!" he shouted loudly.

Isabella cast a wide-area spell, bolstering the soldiers' strength.

Merlin, meanwhile, used magic to heal the wounded warriors.

Inspired by them, the soldiers fought with high morale and valor.

After a brutal battle, they finally defeated the Mysterious Organization, bringing the dawn of peace to the Continent.

Hu Yulun stood on the battlefield, gazing into the distance, and silently thought, "Father, I did it."

Isabella and Merlin walked over to him, and the three of them exchanged smiles, their eyes filled with the joy of victory and hope for the future.

But it was far from over; they had not ushered in peace.

Hu Yulun stood on the ruins of the war, looking at the devastated land, his brows furrowed, and deep worry and fatigue showed in his eyes. His hand, gripping the Longsword hilt, trembled slightly with anger, "What is going on? We have clearly paid such a huge price, why is peace still so far away?"

"Who are you people? Why are you bullying the Common People here?" Hu Yulun demanded, his gaze like a sharp blade directed at the armed individuals.

One of the leaders sneered, "Hmph, we're just following orders. This land no longer belongs to you. Leave now if you know what's good for you!"

Hu Yulun was furious. "Nonsense! This is our Homeland! No one can take it!" With that, he reached for his sword.

Isabella quickly stopped him. "Hu Yulun, calm down. Let's figure out what's going on first."

Merlin also stepped forward. "Yes, don't be rash. Perhaps there's been a misunderstanding."

Hu Yulun, suppressing his anger, glared at the armed individuals.

Isabella turned to the Common People and asked gently, "Don't be afraid, everyone. Can you tell us what happened?"

An old man stepped forward, his voice trembling. "These people suddenly appeared, saying they were going to occupy our land and drive us away. When we refused, they started to beat us."

Hu Yulun's anger flared again. "They're completely out of control!"

Isabella soothed Hu Yulun, "We'll find a way to deal with this."

They returned with the Common People to their temporary camp. Hu Yulun paced back and forth, agitated. "Who are these people? Why are they showing up now?"

Isabella sat nearby, considering. "I have a feeling this is connected to the Mysterious Organization we discovered before. Perhaps they weren't completely wiped out."

Merlin nodded. "It's possible. We need to find out the truth as soon as possible."

Just then, a scout rushed in, "Bad news! Several more villages have been attacked, the situation is critical!"

Hu Yulun stood up abruptly. "Let's go, immediately!"

They rushed to the attacked villages without delay, seeing the villages engulfed in flames, cries and shouts mixing together. Hu Yulun plunged into the fire, desperately rescuing several trapped children.

Isabella used magic to extinguish the fire. "Don't be afraid, everyone, we're here!"

Merlin was busy treating the injured Common People.

Hu Yulun looked at the scene before him, his heart filled with self-reproach. "It's all my fault. If I had discovered their plot earlier..."

Isabella took his hand. "It's not your fault, Hu Yulun. We'll face this together."

In the days that followed, they constantly received bad news, and the situation grew increasingly dire.

One night, Hu Yulun sat alone outside the tent, gazing at the starry sky, lost in thought. Isabella walked over and gently sat beside him.

"Don't put so much pressure on yourself, Hu Yulun," Isabella said.

Hu Yulun turned to look at her. "I can't let everyone suffer anymore, but I don't know what to do."

Isabella comforted him, "We'll definitely find a way, as long as we don't give up."

\n\n

At that moment, Merlin also walked over, "I've been studying some ancient texts, and I might have found some clues."

\n\n

Hope rekindled in Hu Yulun's eyes, "Really? That's wonderful!"

\n\n

They began to investigate based on Merlin's clues, visiting one place after another. In an old library, they finally discovered some crucial information.

\n\n

"So there's a secret like this behind it all," Hu Yulun said in surprise, looking at the ancient book in his hand.

\n\n

Isabella leaned in, "It seems we're getting closer to the truth."

\n\n

Merlin also showed a hint of a smile of relief.

\n\n

However, their actions caught the attention of their enemies. During one investigation, they were surrounded.

Hu Yulun brandished his longsword, engaging in a fierce battle with the enemy. "Even if I die today, I'll take you all down with me!" he shouted.

Isabella unleashed powerful magic, beams of light streaking towards their foes. "You won't harm us!"

Merlin, positioned behind them, continuously chanted spells, providing support.

After a grueling struggle, they finally broke through the encirclement, though all were wounded.

"We can't back down now," Hu Yulun gritted his teeth, persevering.

Isabella and Merlin nodded resolutely.

They continued searching for ways to counter the enemy, constantly gathering intelligence and training soldiers.

At a secret meeting, Hu Yulun declared, "We must take the initiative and act, we can't just sit here and wait to die."

Isabella agreed, "Yes, we need to disrupt their plans."

Merlin also offered a suggestion, "We can split our forces and attack from different directions."

They formulated a detailed battle plan, preparing for the decisive battle.

The day of the decisive battle finally arrived. Hu Yulun stood at the front of the army and shouted, "For our Homeland! For Peace! Charge!"

The soldiers roared their battle cries and charged towards the enemy ranks.

On the battlefield, Hu Yulun was like a valiant lion, wielding his longsword and slaying countless enemies.

Isabella's magic bloomed among the enemy, causing massive destruction.

Merlin used magic to empower the soldiers, enhancing their combat capabilities.

The battle raged intensely, with both sides suffering heavy losses.

Hu Yulun watched the comrades falling around him, his heart filled with grief and rage. "I won't let you die in vain!"

Just at the critical moment, they discovered the enemy's weakness.

Hu Yulun led a squad of elite soldiers, charging towards the enemy's Command Post.

"Break for me!" He cleaved the Command Post's doors open with a sword.

The enemy leader inside was in a panic, "How could you..."

Hu Yulun didn't give the other side a chance to react, ending his life with a single sword strike.

With the enemy leader's death, the enemy army descended into chaos.

Hu Yulun and the others seized the opportunity and launched a final charge, finally achieving victory.

The battlefield after the battle was filled with smoke. Hu Yulun sat wearily on the ground, gazing at the sky.

Isabella and Merlin walked over to him, their hands clasped tightly together.

"We finally won," Isabella said.

Hu Yulun nodded. "But we can't let our guard down. Perhaps new challenges await us."

Merlin said, "As long as we're together, nothing can defeat us."

They knew the road ahead was long, but they were ready to face any possible difficulties, for Peace, for Justice, never giving up.

The battlefield after the battle was filled with smoke. Hu Yulun sat wearily on the ground, gazing at the sky, breathing heavily. Sweat streamed down his resolute face, dripping onto the blood-soaked and dusty earth. His eyes revealed a hint of relief, but also a greater concern for the future.

Isabella dragged her weary body, slowly making her way to Hu Yulun. Her dress was in tatters, and her once fair face was now streaked with dirt and blood. She knelt down gently, reaching out a trembling hand to rest on Hu Yulun's shoulder, her voice raspy and weak. "Hu Yulun, have we truly won? Or is this just a temporary respite?"

Hu Yulun turned his head, looking at Isabella's worried expression. He forced a smile. "Isabella, at least for now, we have. But what the future holds, no one knows."

Merlin also staggered over, his staff devoid of its usual brilliance, his robes torn and tattered. He sat down heavily on the ground, shaking his head with a sigh. "We've suffered heavy losses in this battle."

Hu Yulun stood up, looking at the corpses scattered around him, a pang of pain in his heart. "But we cannot fall here. We must protect this land, bought with the blood of our fallen comrades." His voice was firm and resolute, as if bolstering himself and his companions.

Isabella rose to her feet, her eyes gradually hardening. "That's right. We cannot let their sacrifice be in vain."

Merlin gritted his teeth, using his staff to help him stand. "So, what do we do next?"

Hu Yulun pondered for a moment, then said, "Let's return to the camp first, regroup our forces, and simultaneously send people to investigate the situation elsewhere."

Back at the camp, Hu Yulun didn't stop for a moment. He was busy directing the soldiers to clear the battlefield and treat the wounded. Isabella used her magic, doing her best to alleviate the suffering of the injured.

Night. By the campfire, Hu Yulun sat alone, holding a damaged shield and lost in thought. Isabella walked over and sat beside him.

"Still thinking about what's next?" Isabella asked softly.

Hu Yulun sighed. "I don't know if the enemy will return. I'm afraid we won't have the strength to resist again."

Isabella held his hand. "Don't worry too much. We've been through so much together. We'll find a way."

At that moment, Merlin also came over, holding some food. "Eat something first. Replenish your energy."

Hu Yulun took the food, took a bite, but it tasted like wax.

In the following days, they strengthened the camp's defenses while waiting for news from the scouts.

One day, a scout rushed back to the camp, his face filled with alarm.

"Bad news! Scouts have discovered an unknown force moving towards us from the western valley," the scout panted.

Hu Yulun sprang to his feet. "How many? What's their equipment like?"

The scout swallowed hard. "They're numerous, and their equipment looks top-notch."

Hu Yulun frowned, pacing back and forth. "This is bad."

Isabella said, "We need to prepare for a fight, no matter what."

Merlin nodded. "Agreed. We can't just sit here and wait for them."

Hu Yulun gathered all the soldiers, standing on a platform and shouting, "Brothers! New enemies are coming, but we will not be afraid! We will use our courage and strength to defend our Homeland!"

The soldiers roared in unison, "Defend our Homeland! Defend our Homeland!"

Hu Yulun began to deploy the strategy, his eyes firm and focused, every order clear and decisive.

Isabella and Merlin were also assisting, providing magical support and tactical advice to the soldiers.

When the enemy appeared in sight, Hu Yulun, mounted on his horse, raised his longsword high. "Charge!"

The soldiers surged towards the enemy like a tide.

Hu Yulun fought bravely in the enemy ranks, his sword swinging with endless fury.

Isabella cast spells from the rear, providing protection and attack buffs for the soldiers.

Merlin continuously observed the battlefield, adjusting tactics in a timely manner.

The battle was exceptionally fierce. Hu Yulun gained many new wounds, but he seemed to feel no pain, remaining incredibly valiant.

"Hu Yulun, watch out!" Isabella shouted, seeing an arrow fly towards him.

Hu Yulun sidestepped, continuing to hack at the enemy.

After a long, fierce battle, the enemy finally began to retreat.

Hu Yulun watched the retreating figures, collapsing onto the ground in exhaustion.

"We won another one, but who knows how many more battles await us," he murmured to himself.

Isabella and Merlin walked over to him. Isabella handed him a water skin. "Drink some water and rest first."

Merlin looked towards the distance. "As long as we don't give up, we will surely achieve true peace."

Days passed, and they continuously faced various challenges and crises.

Once, their food supplies were cut off by the enemy, and the Soldiers fell into a desperate state of hunger.

Hu Yulun was extremely anxious and personally led people to search for food and supplies.

"No matter what, we have to find something to eat. We can't let the soldiers go into battle on empty stomachs," Hu Yulun said.

After some effort, they finally found a hidden batch of supplies, which solved their immediate problem.

Another time, they encountered terrible weather. It poured rain, and the camp was flooded.

Hu Yulun led everyone in draining the water and repairing the camp, working tirelessly in the rain for an entire day.

"As long as we are united, no difficulty can defeat us," Hu Yulun encouraged everyone.

In one battle, Hu Yulun unfortunately fell into the enemy's trap and was captured.

Isabella and Merlin were extremely worried and tried every means to rescue him.

"We must rescue Hu Yulun. Without him, our team has lost its soul," Isabella said.

They devised a meticulous plan and ultimately succeeded in rescuing Hu Yulun.

Looking at his exhausted companions who had risked everything to save him, Hu Yulun was filled with emotion. "Thank you. Without you, I might not have made it back."

As time passed, their reputation spread across the entire Continent, and more people joined their ranks, fighting together for peace.

However, their enemies also became increasingly cunning and powerful.

In a crucial battle, both sides were locked in a stalemate, and the situation was extremely tense.

Hu Yulun watched the enemy's entrenched position, which they couldn't breach, and felt anxious.

"This won't work. We need to come up with a new strategy," Hu Yulun said.

Isabella pondered for a moment. "Perhaps we can flank them, take them by surprise."

Merlin nodded in agreement. "That's a good idea, worth trying."

So, Hu Yulun led some Soldiers to stealthily move around the side.

As they neared the enemy's position, they were discovered.

"Charge!" Hu Yulun roared, leading the charge.

After a fierce battle, they successfully broke through the enemy's defenses, creating an opening for the main force.

Ultimately, they won the battle.

But they had no time to celebrate, as a new threat emerged.

In the quiet of the night, Hu Yulun was alone in his tent, pondering the future.

Isabella entered, saw Hu Yulun's worried expression, and said softly, "Don't put too much pressure on yourself. We'll always support you."

Hu Yulun looked up at Isabella. "I'm just worried that our efforts aren't enough, that we can't bring everyone true and lasting peace."

Isabella walked over and took his hand. "As long as we don't give up, hope will always exist."

Just then, Merlin rushed in. "Bad news! We just received word that the enemy has gathered a large force and is preparing another attack."

Hu Yulun stood up, his eyes hardening. "Then we'll face the challenge once more!"

They threw themselves back into the tense preparations for battle.

On the battlefield, Hu Yulun brandished his longsword, shouting, "For peace! For the future!"

The soldiers followed his shouts, their morale high as they fought bravely.

Isabella's magical light illuminated the entire battlefield, bringing courage and strength to the soldiers.

Merlin, on the other hand, used magic to heal the wounded soldiers, enabling them to return to the fight.

After a grueling battle, they once again repelled the enemy.

After the battle, Hu Yulun looked at the tired but jubilant soldiers, his heart filled with emotion.

"We must continue to fight until true peace arrives," Hu Yulun said.

Isabella and Merlin stood beside him, nodding firmly.

Their story continued, and they would never stop striving for the dream of peace…

The days slowly drifted by amidst the flames of war and the smoke of battle. Hu Yulun, Isabella, and Merlin continued to lead their forces, tirelessly striving for a peace that seemed so far away.

One cold, blustery morning, Hu Yulun stood on a high platform overlooking the camp, his gaze fixed on the distance. The wind tousled his hair, and the stubble on his face made him look even more weathered. He clenched his fists, his mind filled with countless thoughts.

Isabella gently approached his side, her eyes filled with concern. "Hu Yulun, you haven't slept all night. What are you thinking about?"

Hu Yulun sighed deeply. "I'm thinking about when this war will end, and how many more of our brothers we'll have to sacrifice."

Isabella tilted her head slightly, watching a few crows fly overhead. "As long as we persevere, there's always hope."

At that moment, Merlin hurried over, his expression slightly anxious. "Bad news. We just received word that the enemy has set an ambush in the valley not far from here."

Hu Yulun's eyes narrowed. "Immediately gather the commanders for a meeting."

The atmosphere in the meeting room was tense and oppressive. The commanders sat around the table, their expressions grave.

Hu Yulun leaned on the table with his hands. "The enemy has set an ambush, and we can't just sit here and wait. But charging straight in will lead to heavy losses. Does anyone have any ideas?"

One of the generals spoke up, "We could send a small team to test the waters and draw out the enemy's ambushers."

Another general shook his head. "That's too risky. If the small team is wiped out, it will damage morale."

Isabella pondered for a moment. "Perhaps we could go around, and launch a surprise attack from the enemy's rear."

Hu Yulun frowned. "Going around takes time, and we might be discovered."

The room fell silent.

Suddenly, Merlin slammed his hand on the table. "I have a plan. We can use magic to create an illusion, making the enemy believe our main force is attacking from the front, while in reality, our main force will sneak around the side."

Hu Yulun's eyes lit up. "That's a good idea, but it requires precise coordination."

After a detailed discussion, they formulated a battle plan.

On the battlefield, Hu Yulun took the lead, charging into the valley with a small squad of soldiers. He brandished his longsword, shouting, "For peace! Charge!"

Isabella cast spells from the rear, creating a large amount of smoke and illusions, making the enemy believe a large army was attacking.

Merlin, meanwhile, led the main force to stealthily flank the enemy.

The enemy was indeed fooled by the illusions, concentrating their forces on defending the front.

"Now!" Merlin shouted, leading the main force in a surprise attack.

Hu Yulun fought fiercely with the enemy on the front lines, his body covered in blood, but his eyes remained resolute.

"Hu Yulun, watch out!" Isabella shouted, seeing an enemy about to attack Hu Yulun from behind.

Hu Yulun spun around quickly, his sword piercing the enemy's chest.

After a bloody battle, they successfully broke through the enemy's ambush and achieved victory.

After the battle, Hu Yulun sat wearily on the ground, gasping for air.

Isabella walked over and handed him a handkerchief. "Wipe your sweat."

Hu Yulun took the handkerchief and smiled. "We owe this victory to everyone."

However, before they could rest, a new crisis arrived.

On a rainy night, Hu Yulun was studying the map in his tent, his brow furrowed.

Isabella entered and, seeing his expression, asked softly, "Troubled by the war again?"

Hu Yulun nodded. "The enemy is constantly reinforcing their numbers, and the pressure on us is increasing."

Isabella walked over to him, looking at the map. "Perhaps we can seek help from other forces."

Hu Yulun raised his head. "That's an idea, but who would be willing to lend a hand at a time like this?"

Just as they were discussing their strategy, a soldier came in to report, "General, a messenger has arrived outside, claiming to represent a certain Kingdom and seeking to negotiate cooperation with us."

Hu Yulun and Isabella exchanged glances, a glimmer of hope igniting in their hearts.

The messenger was brought into the tent. He was a middle-aged man in ornate clothing.

"Esteemed General, on behalf of our King, we are willing to offer you assistance, but we have a condition," the messenger said.

Hu Yulun frowned. "What condition?"

The envoy smiled slightly, "After the war, you will cede a portion of your land to us."

Hu Yulun stood up angrily, "That's impossible! We fought for peace, not to sell out our home."

The envoy shrugged, "Then I regret to say I can only return to the King and report."

After the envoy left, Isabella said worriedly, "If we refuse their help, our situation will become even more difficult."

Hu Yulun clenched his fist, "Even if it's more difficult, we cannot sell out our land and our people."

In the days that followed, they continued to struggle in their predicament.

Once, while attacking a city, they couldn't take it after a long siege. Hu Yulun was extremely anxious.

"This is no way to go on. We must find a way to break through the city," Hu Yulun said.

Isabella suggested, "Perhaps we can use magic to create a siege weapon."

Merlin shook his head. "But we've already used so much magic. It's too risky."

Hu Yulun thought for a moment. "We have no other choice. We have to try."

And so, Isabella and Merlin used the last of their magic to create a giant Siege Hammer.

The Soldiers pushed the Siege Hammer toward the City gates.

"Break down the gates!" Hu Yulun shouted.

With a tremendous crash, the City gates finally broke open.

The Soldiers poured into the City and engaged the enemy in fierce street fighting.

Hu Yulun fought bravely in the city, and more new wounds were added to his body.

"Hu Yulun, watch out above!" a soldier shouted loudly.

Hu Yulun looked up and saw a huge stone crashing down towards him.

At this critical moment, Isabella promptly cast a spell, freezing the giant stone in mid-air.

After a grueling battle, they finally captured the city.

But they also paid a heavy price.

At the victory banquet, Hu Yulun looked at the wounded soldiers, his heart filled with guilt.

"It's all because of me that everyone has suffered," Hu Yulun said, blaming himself.

The soldiers stood up one after another. "General, this is our choice. For peace, everything is worth it."

Isabella walked to Hu Yulun's side. "Don't blame yourself too much. We'll get through this together."

However, the shadow of war still shrouded them.

During a march, they were ambushed by the enemy.

Hu Yulun quickly organized a counterattack. "Everyone, don't panic! Hold the formation!"

But the enemy's attack was unusually fierce, and they gradually fell into a difficult situation.

"Merlin, quickly use your magic to cover our retreat!" Hu Yulun shouted.

Merlin cast his magic, creating a mist that bought the soldiers time to retreat.

During the retreat, Hu Yulun spotted a soldier injured and lying on the ground.

Without hesitation, he ran over and hoisted the soldier onto his back. "Hang in there, brother!"

Isabella covered them from the side.

Eventually, they managed to shake off the enemy's pursuit, but the losses were heavy.

Hu Yulun looked at the exhausted troops, his heart filled with despair.

"Are we really unable to achieve peace?" Hu Yulun murmured to himself.

Isabella grasped his hand. "Don't give up. As long as we're alive, there's still hope."

Days passed, and they continued to struggle in the midst of the war.

One time, they received intelligence that the enemy leader was in a castle, strategizing.

A determined glint flashed in Hu Yulun's eyes. "This is a perfect opportunity. We'll assassinate the enemy leader."

Isabella and Merlin both agreed.

They meticulously planned an assassination operation.

Hu Yulun changed into enemy attire and infiltrated the castle.

Isabella and Merlin waited outside the castle, ready to provide backup.

Hu Yulun cautiously searched for the enemy leader's room within the castle.

Finally, he found it.

He quietly pushed open the door and saw the enemy leader talking with his subordinates.

Hu Yulun charged in suddenly, thrusting his sword at the enemy leader.

But the enemy leader reacted quickly, dodging the blow.

A fierce battle erupted in the room.

Hu Yulun and the enemy leader fought to a standstill.

Just then, Isabella and Merlin also rushed into the room and joined the fight.

After a desperate struggle, they finally managed to assassinate the enemy leader.

The enemy army fell into chaos.

They seized the opportunity to launch a full-scale offensive, achieving a decisive victory.

After the battle, people cheered and celebrated their hard-won triumph.

Hu Yulun stood at a high vantage point, gazing at the jubilant crowd, his heart filled with emotion.

"We are finally one step closer to peace," Hu Yulun said.

Isabella and Merlin stood beside him, their faces also showing satisfied smiles.

But they knew the wounds of war would take time to heal, and their mission was not yet over…
