Sona sat at her desk, going over Saji's paperwork. With this, his family should be well off for the next few decades at the very least—
A sudden flash of demonic energy from the backroom gave her pause, and she looked up from the papers. Tsubaki, most likely. She always finished her contracts promptly—
The door swung open, revealing a dark-haired woman, decked head to toe in a gaudy, pink magical girl costume, complete with a wand and a blinding smile on her face.
"Ya-hoo~ Miracle Levia⋆tan has arrived!"
Eyes wide, Sona stared at her elder sister for one uncomprehending moment, feeling her pulse quicken.
Dear Satan, what was she doing here?!
"Heyyyyy! Why are you looking at me like that? Aren't you excited to see me? It's not every day that I drop by to visit my cute, adorable, younger sister to show her some pure girl-on-girl love."
Sona lowered the papers on her desk, a sinking feeling pulling at her stomach. "Elder sister… this is quite the surprise."
Her sister let out a childish whine, a sound wholly unbecoming of someone at her age and status. "I told you to call me 'sister dear' or 'Little Levia', so come on~ don't be a meanie."
Sona took a slow, fortifying breath, doing her best to keep her expression schooled as a droplet of cold sweat trickled down her back. "Sister dear, what brings you here?"
"Ahh~" A satisfied noise escaped the Satan Leviathan as she wiggled in place, holding her face, cheeks dusted pink. "That makes me so happy. Now come here and give me a hug, and maybe a kiss, then I'll kiss you back, and maybe we'll have some nice, hot yuri—
"Please," Sona spoke up, fighting back the urge to bury her face in her palms. "You must have come here for a reason, aside from just seeing me, haven't you?" She really hoped so, otherwise she might have no other option than jumping out the window.
Sona made no move from her desk as she waited, the bright smile on her sister's face quickly dimming.
"I did, and it has something to do with you," Serafall said, the usual cheer leaving her tone as she made her way up to the front of the room.
A chill went up Sona's back, mind going awhirl. Something to do with her?
"What do you mean?"
"Weeelll," Serafall twirled her wand, placing a finger on her cheek as the cheerfulness returned to her voice. "A cranky old guy called me earlier, complaining that someone had attacked their castle, and how they found traces of Devil magic close by. Of course, I had no idea what he was talking about, so I just gave him empty platitudes and came to see you." She winked, a knowing smile curling her lips. "I have a feeling that you might know what this is about. Call it sisterly intuition. And the fact that you got summoned all the way to Romania yesterday morning for some reason."
Attacked their castle…?
Sona swallowed a sudden knot in her throat, mouth feeling dry. "And who might this 'cranky old guy' be?"
"The head of the Țepeș Clan."
Serafall gestured airily with a hand, as if talking about the weather, while Sona's eyes widened, a cold wave washing over her back.
"He sounded pretty mad, too." Her sister continued, and Sona's stomach sank deeper with every word. "Whoever raided his castle also killed his second son, beat up the whole garrison black and blue, and kidnapped his daughter. Sooo, what can you tell me about this?"
Sona stiffened in her seat, her sister's inquisitive gaze akin to a physical weight pressing down on her chest. She slowly released a breath that she hadn't noticed she was holding, nibbling lightly at her lip.
That unassuming bald guy had made short work of an entire vampire clan by himself, all for the sake of a girl…
Sona leaned back in her seat with a tired sigh, gaze drifting to the ceiling as she shook her head. "I helped a guy elope with a vampire princess…"
A beat of tense, awfully long silence passed between them, before a bright smile abruptly lit up Serafall's face. "Oh, that's incredibly romantic!" It was, but… "I got it," she nodded sagely, "I have no idea who was in Romania—
Her sister paused, brows shooting up as she snapped her fingers in realization. "Oh, I know what happened! It was totally one of those Old Satan Faction nasties. Those evildoers are never up to anything good, yup!"
Sona sat there, staring quietly at her older sister as words escaped her, because… this was the Satan of Foreign Affairs…
"Well then, it was great seeing you again, my dear sister, but I gotta go now. See ya~" Serafall Leviathan said with a wink, before spinning around and skipping all the way back to the closet.
Deafening silence filled the room as the door closed shut in her wake, leaving Sona to stare ahead blankly. A moment later, she buried her face in her palms.
Dear Satan, what did she get herself involved into...
