Although Eliron and Alex had agreed to visit the second apostle, that did not mean they would foolishly walk into his camp without a back up plan.
The oracles would remain in the camp just in case it was a plot to raid the castle and when they were away, while they would be accompanied by an elite wyvern unit.
Eliron, Jade and Alex arrived at the stable inside the castle where the wyvern riders were waiting.
The reason they were an elite force was that each wyvern in their unit was capable of unleashing breath attacks.
Only the most evolved wyvern in a pack could use breath attacks, which separated them from the fold. On very rare occasions it was even possible for such a wyvern to evolve into a dragon.
Well, at least in theory…
"Ha, scaly chickens!" Jade laughed when she saw the wyverns from afar. "Do people really ride those ugly things?"
